Anyone know who, in shot put Champ Crouser's circle, was sporting the Husker hat in the stands last night? I can't find it.
I saw that as well but didn't have the sound on. Assumed it was his dad?

Something I just thought about all night
We're all mocking Texas and OU for taking the money and (presumably) sacrificing their chances at conference championships or playoffs.
But then we're turning around and talking about how we want our conference to add more elite teams for more money...? Like, we'd be doing the same thing to ourselves if we added Notre Dame and Clemson, we would never win in that conference idk at least for me I realized my own hatred of Texas blinded my own hypocrisy

Honestly, I know they don't bring anywhere near what others could bring as far as media markets, size of fanbase, and pedigree, but I wouldn't mind Iowa State at all. They're a smaller version of Nebraska and Wisconsin fused - simple midwestern folk that love to party and love their underdog.
There is a lane and approach to be taken that isn't trying to do the exact same thing as the SEC and be the biggest/baddest/most. If the B1G has its own unique identity and footprint and experience, that draws attention.

I think we've only won 3 games in alternate uniforms since joining the B1G, and two were versus Illinois. Something like that. The alternate uni curse is real.
We've only won 16 games the last four years. Safe to assume our normal uniforms are cursed too.

Just when I think that I couldn't hate the Lakers any more...
Reminds me of the Kobe, Shaq, Karl Malone, Gary Payton team that made even me, a diehard Lakers fan, dislike the Lakers

I have a vision of a bumbling KW awkwardly asking a level 9 girl out on a date- knowing full well he's only a 2. Totally defeated before he even gets up to the plate. Eyes looking down, hands in pockets, ink running down his pocket protector, stammering, fidgeting- I'm sure it didn't go very well. Would you want to put the future of your program into his hands? Cant blame them. If you think KW deserves that trust- what has he done to deserve such trust? What specific accomplishments with the BIG?
Is Kevin Warren playing Dungeons & Dragons in this

Look, we get. You’ve said it numerous times. We understand the point you are making. Now extend the same courtesy to others. Virtually everyone else in this conversation is saying hindsight is 20-20 and it’s a bit ridiculous to keep harping on it. You don’t have to agree but damn.
I for one have not understood anything he has said and need a minimum of saying the same thing at least 6969 times before I'll get it.

To think 10 one score games in those 2 seasons, that Burrow couldnt have won us at least 4 of those games- 4 by FIELD GOAL. IS DISINGENUOUS>
Nobody said he couldn't have won us some games. How many of those games did we lose because of our quarterback or did we have a chance to win but our quarterback failed to excel? Which ones, specifically?
7 hours ago, Nebraska55fan said:TO think that Joe couldnt have helped us win 4 of those 10 one score games- is just silly. Just take away all of Adrians fumbles- we win several of those
Nobody thinks he couldn't have helped us win games. "NOT WHAT I SAID", I think is how you put it.

Not at the time he wasn't.

Feels a bit like Diet Black Panther to me, which was fun and quality but overrated in my estimation.
I can't point to anything in the trailers as specific evidence, but I feel like this along with all of the current and immediately upcoming stuff is going to suffer under some weight of world building for other stories rather than telling its/their own stories.
It seems clear that they're really positioning Spider-Man 3, Dr Strange 2 and Ant-Man 3 as the lynchpin properties for the next overarching story theme in Phase 4. Then after that, Thor 4 and GotG 3 as backup support to a celestial/multiverse Kang encounter. A lot of these (the Disney+ series and the next few 'new IP' films) seem like they're mostly existing to help prop that up.

I know which is which.
One had a descent rookie season at LSU
So did the other at NU
One got better and ended up winning the Heisman.
'Rookie season'...?
He was a redshirt junior compared to a true freshman in Martinez who played better with worse surrounding cast.
40 minutes ago, Nebraska55fan said:So how has the development of
Martinez,
McCaffrey and
Smothers been so far?
What specific improvements have you see in their play that can be attributed to development?
Great question. If all the other quarterbacks at Nebraska haven't developed, why do you think 57% completion percentage Joe Burrow would have?

The deal is Burrow WANTED to come here and our guys- said a resounding no. BUT we are supposed to put all our faith in their decision making- even though when they had this one teed up perfectly - they BLEW IT
Adrian had better performance and a better ceiling and a longer career ahead of him when Burrow was transferring.
1 hour ago, Nebraska55fan said:Look at Martinez productivity= has gotten worse every year
This isn't true. His productivity was better his junior year than it was his sophomore year.

Tell me how this leads to more money per team? The $EC is adding TX & OU for money and quality, so, I'm curious how adding all the PAC 12 achieves the same objectives.
Your thoughts?
The way it could, per my limited understanding, is by giving the conference(s) a stronger place to negotiate from with their next media deal.
All us B1G teams don't generate an average of $55m, that's what we receive due to a really well bargained media rights deal with Fox/ESPN.

Count me in the camp as being really excited for Adrian this year. I think he finally has confidence in his teammates and in himself. I understand Frost was trying to create competition by splitting reps with McCaffery last year but ultimately I think it hurt Adrians confidence and he played not to make mistakes. Ultimately I think him knowing he’s the man will be good for him and the rest of the offense. Also hopefully he will feel more comfortable playing at a more natural weight for him. I look forward to him breaking some big runs this year! Now pass that kool-aid!
His time here thus far has suggested the opposite of what you're saying, as far as I can tell.
His true freshman year when he was locked in a battle with Gebbia, he played great. His sophomore year when he was the guy and had no competition he regressed significantly. His junior season he started off okay, but performed better later in the season after being benched and needing to retake the starting job.

Are those returning snap counts right for the receivers?

The SEC can play defense. Yes they had a bit of a hiccup last year, but many of the SEC teams play well coached pretty stout defense.
Not really.
2020
Alabama 52, Florida 46
Florida 38, Texas A&M 41
Florida 63, Arkansas 35
LSU 41, Missouri 45
South Carolina 42, Ole Miss 59
2019
Alabama 59, Ole Miss 31
Alabama 41, LSU 46
Alabama 45, Auburn 48
LSU 58, Ole Miss 37
2018
Alabama 45, A&M 23
A&M 74, LSU 72
Florida 35, SCAR 31
Ole Miss 44, SCAR 48
Just pulling out a few examples, they're just like everyone else with a combo of some teams that have decent defense, some teams that have great offenses, and some teams that suck.

Stepp missed:
Missed Entire Junior Year of HS due to hamstring injury
Missed 3 games as Senior in HS due to injury
Missed 8 games due to injury his Freshman year of College
Missed 5 games due to injury in his Sophomore year of College
Missed 1 game due to injury his Junior year of College- but carried 1 and 5 times in back to back games.
At NU he missed Spring practice due to an injury that required surgery
So he missed over 30 games and somehow Im off base by calling this player injury prone? Really?
It's impossible to extrapolate those 8 games his freshman year as being from injury, or being to preserve a redshirt.

I get what you're saying, insofar as neither of them is an all-time great passer or NFL stud or anything like that, but at the same time, let's not forget that Zac Taylor was the Big XII Offensive Player of the Year, and mid-way through Joe Ganz' senior season he had the third highest QBR of all active quarterbacks behind Tim Tebow and Sam Bradford. They were both better than 'fine, solid'.
