  1. Brian Bailey, the once new strength and conditioning coach, that all the players loved is reportedly fired. What does it all really mean................I have no idea, but I did know that many players, including Cory Schleshinger came back every yar to work out with him. http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_np=0&u_pg...38&u_sid=979474 redout
  2. Yesterday I was informed that three of our players were involved in a situation on Saturday evening in which two players were ticketed and one player was arrested. I called all three players into my office to discuss the situation that had occurred and explained to them that there are many choices, decisions and consequences that every individual is accountable for. These players are accountable for their actions and were apologetic to me personally and do have remorse for their actions. "We have simple team rules-do what is right, be on time and work hard. I will not tolerate players that are not committed to winning a national championship, on and off the field. Incidents like this are unacceptable. It is an embarrassment to the University, our football program, the community and to the families of the athletes involved. As members of the Nebraska football program we are held to a higher standard. It is a privilege to participate in intercollegiate athletics. "In addition to any legal ramifications the players may face, there will be internal disciplinary measures taken. The players involved will be closely scrutinized from this time forward." Sounds pretty good to me. Because its the first event like this he is going to have be firm. Welcome back to college Cally.......oh wait you had a bunch of imature a$$hole$ last year, nevermind. redout
  3. "I am grateful for this great opportunity to not only coach at Nebraska, but also to coach with Bill Callahan," Elmassian said. "I feel like I have been preparing for this moment for 30 years. I am excited for the chance to help lead Nebraska to a national championship, and I am looking forward to working with the defensive backs here at Nebraska. From everything I have seen and heard, the secondary is blessed with great character and athleticism, and I have a great amount of respect for their abilities. Not bad....we'll take it, I'd rather have Sanders, but what can you do. All of these coaches seem to be so blessed to be coaching with Callahan. This guy must be great to be with or there so afraid of him they are trying to get on his good side. redout
  4. This guy is from Purdue and has done some nioce things. He's been around a while. Like 30 years or something. Purdue secondary was ranked second in the Big Ten. 19th overall. Hope age doesn't hurt him. http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?PR...2&DB_OEM_ID=100 redout
  5. "I'm coming to Nebraska to help you win a national championship,'' Panico said. This from Nebraska's latest recruit commit http://www.suntimes.com/output/prep/cst-sp...t-panico19.html redout
  6. No no no....it was against Colorado in '94. First touchdown of the game. With Beringer at the helm. CU had Stewart and that WR. Stewart was like 5 - 20. redout
  7. This was all to be expected. You knew he couldn't leave without saying these things. redout
  8. Why should he go somewhere else?? He makes some good points. Although I tend to think Blake had it tough, especially all the problems Switzer left behind. Callhan has only lost one place and that was last year. Everywhere else he wins. Check out the analogy Eric "the red" has in his column "...and so it begins". It put s it rather well redout
  9. If Nu could merely compete with Oklahoma as won of the top out of state schools that routinley plucks Texas' best talent, will Nebraska will be rich. Callahan will recruit out west. Cosgrove the Midwest. Blake down in the south??? This dude in Texas....looks good redout
  10. Nothing like getting back to those tangibles that made Nu great:recruiting and strength program. redout
  11. Will those Florida kids go to OU now. Or has OU really filled all of there scholorships?? A lot of those recruits were recruited by Pelini, they seemed fairly commited to him and not the program. NOt just the Florida kids but many around the nation. What do we think of this? I'm generally leaning toward the recruits not following him because OU has recruited quite well w/out Pelini and how many scholorships can they have left? redout
  12. Great now it really is true. Nebraska will be paying Pelini to beat us. redout
  13. I'd like to see how Callahan deals with this. He could very easily make a statement and an example with Bernard Thomas especially and get rid of them immediately. Dismissed the whole thing. This is the first time something has happened under his tenure and look for him to do something major here. redout
  14. Is Grixby overrated? I didn't here much about him this year. Is he based on potential? redout
  15. Oh Nebraska fans will certainly be respectful. Remember a lot of people wanted him here. They'll cheer for him. In LJS today there is an article about Pelini to OU and Carl, his brother, said Bo trusts the OU AD someting that means alot to him after his stay here(NU). Circle November 13 now. NU vs OU Ou will let up about 5 yards a game. redout
  16. AHHH I was there once. Went down to ye' old cubbie town or whatever the hell that place is called. Saw Dave Mathews play, they got drunk the next two days. It's an okay town. Expensive...but different redout
  17. One great one, although very simple, but labeled exactely what the team was all about, in '94 when Cory Schlenger ran in from about 20 yards against Colorado on a full back trap. I have this game on film and the guard pulls and just lays out the Def. tackle. You could hear their helmits pop when he hits them. Keith Jackson did the call. He said,"Nebraska gives it to the big ole fullback, just like throwing the dog a bone." Nebraska was ranked #2, I think and CU #3 redout
  18. What a great game. But until NU gets better, I had this feeling the last five minutes that it didn't matter how well NU did something was going to happen to cause NU to lose. It just didn't seem possible they could pull it off no matter how much they were up. redout
  19. Yeah, but they still haven't offered him a scholorship yet. redout

  21. I look for that RB from Ohio next. Fergeson or something
  22. This kid is from Tulsa, Oklahoma. None of the bigger schools seem to be after him but still this is quality. He is ranked 25th in the country for DE. 6'4" 230. Tulsa, Mizzou, Colorado St. among others have offered. Get'em Cally redout
  23. I don't think so. In fact look for Nebraska to lose a dozen more. I hate to say it.

  25. Nebraska wins, but give me Colorado and 6 1/2. redout
