  1. This isn't going to happen because that means bringing in schools that add ZERO value to anything. This is going to end up being like the NFL lite. 2 conferences. 4 means bringing in upwards of 80 schools. Never. Going. To. Happen. The NFL doesn't just expand into cities that don't benefit the League. This is going to be about the haves and have nots. Schools like Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern etc are going to benefit from being in the existing league otherwise they'd be screwed. Could honestly say the same thing about us demographically. Luckily we have a good enough brand despite the last 20 years to keep us somewhat relevant.
  2. Statements put out by Oregon State, Utah, Colorado, Washington, Cal and Arizona. Nothing from Stanford, Oregon, Washington State or Arizona State, yet that I've seen.
  3. A exact quotes and Info I'm getting from a guy up in Oregon. Unsure of credibility. is this. "Sounds like Cal is next to B1G" "SEC is interested in Oregon and Cal" "B1G is also working to get Washington and Oregon." "Notre Dame to SEC" "I would prefer B1G. However, Oregon and Washington lawmakers are looking to keep WSU and UW from splitting into different conferences. Same with UO and OSU. Meaning that the schools in each state would have to stay in the same conference together. So they would be package deal whichever conference they go to. That was just leaked 5 minutes ago"
  4. With a new governing body and breakaway from the NCAA, rules and recruitment change and allows them to be a Dodgers / Angels type grouping. It's not about what is current, its about projection of where the ceiling is and where its allowed to go.
  5. Bingo. ND is the prized jewel in all of college football. If we have to grab Stanford for it to work. You do it. Even if they had ZERO fanbase
  6. It's odd because I think Stanford is not as enticed by ND as they would be UO/UW but ND wants Stanford because of their traditional games just like USC. I truly think UO/UW are just fortunate to be the biggest players for Stanford. Otherwise they wouldn't even be given a thought. Stanford has been oddly silent along with Notre Dame. I'm not sure UO/UW know they are even are part of it yet. It's kind of an odd triangle.
  7. From what I understand and what I've read in a few places. Yes. I think that's why no one is talking ACC moves and specifically expansion in regards to a response from the SEC. I think the SEC knows the fish they want have a long time before they can move, unless the ACC decided as a whole to dissolve
  8. The Big10 is waiting. Not UO/UW. If ND says no (which they won't) then expansion is done. If they say yes. They are part of the puzzle to also get Stanford, which is also enticing to ND.
  9. They cant do anything till 2036 without paying ridiculous amounts of money to leave because football is included for everyone but Notre Dame. Adding anyone in makes it difficult because of the same reason. 2036. All members would have to vote to disband to dissolve the conference for it to happen super quick.
  10. The Notre Dame decision seems to have been made. Dollars being negotiated on exit.
  11. Notre Dame's decision is supposedly supposed to take "Hours or Days" not "weeks". If news is happening before the holiday, that announcement will come today, you would think. However I'm leaning toward a Tuesday/Wednesday announcement. It literally might be to allow USC/UCLA limelight for their decision to say yes. Too many schools coming in right after one another shortens the time the media covers this whole story. So I think its a play by Fox and The B1G to stay the darling of sports coverage for the offseason.
  12. The problem here is that it comes down to viewership. To have 4 super conferences means a schools need to be added to the equation. There are schools in the current P5 that are going to be left out, they just don't have any reason to be included anymore, and that's also the unfortunate thing for them. TV is about business and money, not tradition. So for example...why add UCF into the fold of 4 super conferences when you already have 3 other florida schools? It's like adding MLB baseball to Omaha, which is the KC market. Makes zero sense regarding viewership. So I think it's ultimately headed to 2 conferences similar look as AFC/NFC and then play it off till you get to a proverbial super bowl. I see both leagues getting to about 24-30 schools. Which means there will be between 5-17 schools getting left out. imo
  13. Fair enough. I think only the top brands will survive with a new governing body. I think it's more likely the Top 50 or so are the top of the top, then the next group will be ahead of the FCS but clearly below the top Brands.
  14. Why would you even take the time to do this when you know thats not the direction it's headed?
  15. No they won't because this is all about being able to set your own rules/restrictions. Breaking away from the NCAA being the governing body. Nebraska is not playing the same game recruiting as Colorado State and they shouldn't be bound by the same rules.
  16. At this point, what advantage is it to play an out of conference game?
  17. https://trojanswire.usatoday.com/2022/06/30/obvious-prediction-to-make-after-uscs-move-oregon-washington-will-join-big-ten/?taid=62bed3fd6dc5730001a4d8df&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter
  18. Oregon games are always in top 10-15 viewership. You're gunna get the viewers with Oregon. You get market with Washington. They are tied to each other anyway. It's a great add. However if Notre Dame says no. I don't see expansion continuing this year. Notre Dame says yes. Then it gets a bit more crazy, and likely a response from the SEC.
  19. My buddy in Oregon is telling me the big rumor up there is Oregon to the SEC but is dependent on Washington doing the same....
  20. Ball is in Notre Dame's court. That's the major play. Other schools have to wait till ND makes their decision. Oregon and UW will most certainly follow along. USC, and UCLA don't make that move with Lincoln NE being the closest possible game outside of LA. Anyone thinking otherwise is incredibly naive. Patience. USC was the piece to get the ball rolling for ND. Stanford is the other piece that could be promised so those two games are maintained for Notre Dame. Oregon/Washington is just travel partners for the west coast schools Moves will be Notre Dame, Oregon/UW combo, Stanford....after that it gets hazy if they continue beyond 20.
  21. I find it interesting that the article Chatelain put out cites Oregon, UW and Stanford as players coming soon but McKewon doesn't. Also for what it's worth. couple responses below the tweet worth looking at
  22. He doesn't know squat. No one saw the current chess move either. Notre Dame, Oregon, Washington are the next 3. After that. Start looking back east again with UNC
