Sorry, its a different world.  Money does things to people.  Id throw all of you under the bus if it meant getting life changing money and i dont think many other people are different from that.

Throwing a bunch of strangers under the bus from a forum is not synonymous with throwing your dads alma mater and uncles livelihood under the bus.  But you do you.

We need to find a way to block Colorado and Iowa fans from creating BS accounts just to stir things up.

If you honestly think I’m an Iowa or Colorado fan you haven’t been paying attention.

    Ok hardo

Nice one. About as hard as the Karen that was trying to gaslight everyone about talking about DR and football…in the DR thread on the football forum…instead of talking about VB and supporting the team… Welcome to the convo btw

    Pfft...

We have a group of Ladies winning not just conference awards (yes, conference awards too) but national awards.

The Ladies who have fought, clawed and stood the course. They've achieved the pinnacle of their sport. They're actually doing their part to carry the Husker Brand and barely a word from this board. Instead, it's a constant rant about what didn't happen and could have happened.

here's what didn't happen: The men's programs, outside of baseball, haven't achieved a single conference championship in years. The football team can't even reach a mediocre bowl game fhs.. and all this wasted time/breath/energy b!^@hing about what could of/should of/might of happened. Fun??? Heck No!!

Instead of filling up a thread on a recruit that might/probably won't sign here.. How about spending a little time discussing the awesome effort of the only gender of athletes at Nebraska that currently matter. They're carrying the universities banner/brand with great effort, awesome character and supreme confidence but I guess what the lack of support shown them indicates is there are a butt load of chauvinist on here.

The best group of athletes at dear ol'nu are playing tonight. Playing for a championship. How about showing them some love and stop speculating for a minute, hour, day, about something very few (if any) of the posters actually know anything about.

That Said!!! Lady Husker's Go Kick Some Pitt Arse!! GBR!!

Then see your way to the VB forum. Personally I don’t give two s#!ts about VB, or women’s sports in general. Hell I don’t really care about any sports in general except Husker Football. Which would make sense cause we are in the Husker Football Forum!

Lol seriously who the f#&% are you to tell us what we should be talking about and supporting?? Chauvinists?? Lol go get pegged.

Why?? It's ok to be optimistic for once around here.

McCord not coming, Kaelin prob leaving. Normally that would indicate DR is coming here…that said I’m not feeling great about how wishy washy this kid has been. If he decides to change his mind again, we could really be up the river without a paddle. Hopefully he commits and pulls us out of 20 years of mediocrity but, come on man, we’re Nebraska, optimism is synonymous with insanity at this point.

  5. If Casey Thompson would have had the balls to pull it down and run when there is 20 yards of open field in front of him when there was no where to throw it he could have been one of the best QBs NU ever had. But he liked to take sacks which doesn’t make sense to me, you’re going to get hit no matter what, might as well take the hit getting positive yards.

sorry tangent about the idea of having a static qb and thinking this may be the answer then I remember 2022…

If that's the point they wanted to go (given Satts preference) just seems odd in hindsight they go after Sims year one.  And after having run the entire season (out of necessity) with a QB ru centric offense, we might be getting the most static of the "better" QB's in the portal.Kaelin is definitely a traditional QB only running for 169 yards this season on 60 some odd attempts.  And looking at Raiola's stats, he hasn't had positive yards as a rusher since Soph year.  So you have a point that we appear to moving into the era of a static QB.....

I honestly think Sims was the best they thought they could get at the time and they also thought that he would be a pass first qb. Can’t remember where I saw it but that’s what Rhule was quoted saying of Sims. We all know how that turned out. It’s still shocking how much of a miss he was.

Odd they went after Sims as their must "get" last year and now McCord (or other more traditional QB's). Two opposite styles for sure.  I don't think Satt was really ever a QB run game guy.  Im guessing Rhule is smart enough to look at potential QB's and what they can do with what we have and who else is coming in.  I just can't believe that we are now on year 7 with no bowl game....

Not that odd considering they recruited DK. Seems like they have been planning to go that direction for a while now.

It was Rhule's connection to and recommendation from Geoff Collins that generated interest in Sims.  What Rhule probably should have asked himself was why Key, the coach who recruited Sims, his former OC, & new HC wanted to move on from him.  Rhule took some big swings on reclamation projects in year one, they each bombed miserably, hopefully he is done taking rehab projects.

Thanks for the clarification, I had read that it was Satterfield that pushed hard to get him. Don’t remember where but yeah, the interwebs

I'd expect that kind of a response from Frost's ghost. The buck stops with the HC, period. No more finger pointing with our HC, just the thumb.

He was Satterfields hand picked guy. But you’re right Rhule should have watched some tape and said “no, bad Marcus!”

And the only person that gets to tell me what to do with my fingers or thumb is my wife.

The issue with going old school is that you want an already pretty good QB wanting to play for NU.  However, and I don't keep up with the latest and greatest with recruits, but I don't see many four/five star QBs who are wanting to come to Nebraska.   NU certainly has money to spend.  Winning cures all.  It's possible if they spend now and find success, that will attract future recruits.   Could we even trust Rhule with finding a QB in the portal after the Sims fiasco?

The sims fiasco rest squarely on Satterfields shoulders

Maybe he has talked to the collective and they say they can't come up with 2 mil for one guy?  So instead of saying hey we can't afford that or won't pay that he just says they are doing it old school.  Maybe our collective doesn't want to pull a Miami and not pay anyone what they were promised.

That definitely could be the case. If the money just isn’t there, which is baffling to me, and they are doubling down on who we have already, Rhule better bring in someone that knows how to actually develop QBs. Satterfield has shown it’s not him. It would be a major lapse in judgment if he doesn’t IMO

  12. Is 2 mil not doable nil money for a decent qb for this program? Honest question. It just seems comical and ridiculous that we can scrape up half a BILLION for new facilities, but Rhule seems to get squirmy about 2 mil for the most important position for a team in the modern era. I know that he or NU have little say but damn aren’t we supposed to have some of the most NIL potential in the country?

Then he doubles down with we are gonna be old school, stick with our guys and develop them?? Okay….He sure as s#!t better get someone else to work with the QBs then if that’s his plan…I don’t want to hear the Satterfield had nothing to work with deflection, all three QBs had the same problems, that’s on the qb coach.

    Explain this statement please

The fact that Rhule isn’t even considering firing Satterfield, his buddy, is very similar to the nepotism of the last staff.

After chinander was fired the defense did a complete 180. Just think if Frost had done his job and pulled the trigger when he should have. We are seeing it all over again just on the other side of the ball. Rhule hitching his wagon to Satterfield and what he brought with him will be his downfall.

  14. I said 3-9 at the beginning of the season. Mostly because I figured we would get our asses legitimately stomped most games. This 5-7 year is even worse to me because we were in almost every game and had opportunities to be at least 8-4 prob 9-3. Yet we still find a way to lose winnable games.

Rhule ain’t changing things especially since he’s blind to the nepotism that got him here.
