But see, that is not really true.

He beat back to back top 10 teams in Okie State and Mizzo

He always beat MSU and they were always ranked back then.  He was .500 against teams with winning records.  And 8-17 vs ranked teams, not great for sure.

You’re not wrong, of course there is outliers and flickers of beating real competition but as a whole that’s the feeling I had as a fan through those years

  2. I think the reason myself and a lot of fans just threw their hands up with the Bo years was this; Nebraska was like the 3rd grader that would go around the play ground beating the crap out of the second graders, but every-time another 3rd grader came around we’d get punched back in the nose and crumble into a fetal position and just lay there. 9 wins don’t mean much when it’s against the little guys

On LA Tech's first TD Singleton was clearly getting held. Lineman's hands were outside his shoulders. It should have been any easy call for the side judge.

The amount of times this season I've seen our defenders tackled trying to get off a block, or twisted around scrambling after the QB with no call is unreal.

At this point it can’t even be incompetence, it’s intentional no calls. The first TD run from HH should have stood. Kemp got caught holding but there was a defender right next to him that was holding as well. Should have been offset and 6 points

  4. Sims may LOOK better out there to some but to me it’s an all show and no go situation. I don’t care if he has flashes of -insert any great qb here- but if it’s only a flash in the pan and doesn’t lead to points, let alone wins, it doesn’t matter. He’s done that his entire college career. Shows  flashes but never seems to put it together. Not gonna happen here with this Oline. Cut your losses on the mercenary qb and focus on the local kid that shows he can be reliable until he shows otherwise.

Honestly that wouldn't be fun for me if it was my team winning either. Sport is meant to be competition, and when there isn't any that makes for an unfulfilling time.

Yeah everyone looks like they are just going through the motions out there. It looks like practice, yeah we’re talking about practice

    It really was.

The lack of hitting was sooooo noticeable, the size difference, the speed.

s#!t, just blitz 6 on ever down and have Nelson take half the field and your next best player take the other half.  Game over.

Also, you can tell he’s not even going half speed, it’s like he’s afraid he’s going to break someone, lol

My god that is horrible football.  Looks like there were only 8 guys out there (I kid)

There is a reason why those dudes never got scholarships back in the day, there were no camps, no one saw these guys unless you just stopped by a game.

It’s like watching a top 100 recruit play against a youth football team.

Be prepared for Sims to get booed out of the stadium when the first turnover happens unless we are up big already.  Nebraska Nice is going out the window.  Haarberg played his butt off and protected the football in his first career start.   It just means more to a local kid than a hired gun mercenary.  Commend Sims on his sideline behavior last week though.  Hopefully coach keeps the leash short because it appears he is going with Sims.  I guess it might be good developmentally to not sacrifice Haarberg to Michigan the following week, but they both need to play this week IMHO.  The defense is absolutely good enough to win the West with even a serviceable offense.  Are you scared of any of the remaining teams other than Michigan?  I think we will need both of them throughout the season and hope that Rhule does not stubbornly hitch his wagon to the wrong guy.

I’m really impressed with his character and team first mentality.
If Sat and Rhule are smart they will use the right tool for different jobs. The way we are running the qb they both need to be utilized to spread out the wear and tear they will receive. What those roles are I don’t know. I’m not getting paid millions of dollars. They need to figure that out and quick.

  9. Anybody that thinks Sims is better than Haarberg doesn’t watch football.
HH lead multiple methodical drives. Sims does exactly what he did at GT, drives start with some juice then sputter out just past midfield and end up in punts or turn overs. The only points Sims is responsible for was when the opposing defense got caught pissing down their leg.
