  1. Why is it so hard for people to spell out their words? Tlking? Furvently? It's hard to read crap like that. Plus the whole point was crap. I think my favorite part is MU being included with OU as the "better" teams in the conference. Who has MU beaten that was so great? A KU team in 07 that dodged Texas and Oklahoma on the schedule? I guess that's about it...

  2. I have never done anything at games to warrant trouble.

Growing up in Kansas (dad from Fremont) my dad had his husker tag ripped off his car one day, I was in Estes Park Colorado on vacation when I was about 10 and some older guys walked by and called me a fa.g and I didn't know why. My dad said it was probably because of my Husker jacket. The two games i went to in Lawrence, the first was ok, fans were fine, stadium was mostly red (2001), low expectations for KU fans. Returned in 03 and 3 drunk guys came in at halftime and just started cursing out Nebraska and it's fans and sat right behind us. They finally realized nobody was interested in stooping to their level and left (03 they were competitive and thought they had a good chance after our 02 season).

So there are examples of crap that goes on. Check my posts. When have I ever gone after a poster of another team? Not a trouble maker. Some places just don't welcome opposing fans. It was refreshing to hear about some courtesy extended by VTech.

  3. I wouldn't say Bradford is disappointed about his decision. He's probably enjoying the college life. The money will be their (even if he somehow gets a career ending injury he'll still have a diploma and learn to live comfortably with less money). Plus I was under the assumption that he's only a Junior (redshirt) and could come back again.

  4. I too was disappointed by that video segment of Gill. He was great but that AD was sad. So bitter. I'm with Junior on the credentials. Chizik's overall resume was better. Let's face it...it took Gill 3!!!! years to win a championship in a wide open conference. Chizik just finished year 2. He had two coordinator stints on the defensive side and his teams won NATIONAL titles. Plus SEC schools like auburn breath strong defense over quick strike offense. I don't see how Gill would've been a fit.

I think too, Racism would die if it were allowed to. I don't think of people's skin color unless someone else mentions it. Seriously. It seems like it's just another excuse for people to blame others for their problems and feel sorry for themselves. So yeah....

    GO BIG RED!

  5. Actually when Bo was first here in 03 he did it this way or tried to. He got a lot of questions about it and got tired of hearing it (distraction!) and just gave em out but I remember he held out for a while before the season got going.

  6. Nebraska will take a "rivalry" seriously when the other team shows some class and is capable of punching back for 4 quarters. Colorado can punch but they throw their snowballs and act like jackasses and Missouri can dazzle the media with Chase and his pathetic insults while their fans treat guests like trash...

No rivalry. No trophy games either. Don't need em.

  7. Sorry but this post is silly. I have a lot of confidence in our coaching staff and the direction this program is moving in. Screw the tuneup games. We were one screwed up play away from beating va tech in blacksburg in our FIRST road game of the season and FIRST test of the season with a qb only having two games under his belt and a group of newcomers at linebacker. My god I can't see us losing to Missouri unless we hand them turnover after turnover and defensive breakdown after defensive breakdown.

Remember the game last year was very early in the season with the new staff and group of kids that admitted that the vatech game earlier was the first time they realized they could compete with good competition. Last year's kids were so demoralized from that 07 season...and don't forget...we shared the north title with missouri last season. We also beat KU and they couldn't. I point that stuff out because you're pointing out details like that why we shouldn't win.

Just relax. Enjoy the 8th and go from there.

  8. I'm really disappointed no one got the 300th sellout game up.

And as far as property and crap goes...there's some guy on ioffer that is selling dvd's of those same tv games from previous husker years for 10 bucks a pop! I have like 50 games over the years but would never think to try to profit off of that.

It would be one thing if ABC/ESPN actually sold these games or put them on ESPN classic (a handful do) but otherwise no one makes an issue out of taping the game off the tv set. I think it's ridiculous to not be able to post links. For some of us, we don't even get the chance to buy the ppv.

  9. I agree with Cali Sker. Solich was more than capable. We don't know all the details over the years. We heard stories of trouble with other coaches on the staff and lack of chemistry and they had one 7-7 season that everyone is so ashamed of. Nice gesture to have him speak on the screen last night while his bobcats were giving the volunteers a tough game.

  10. The coaches poll is all screwed up. Explain to me how penn state is still ranked ahead of iowa. Hawkeyes 4-0 with the one impressive win against psu and penn has no impressive wins and is 3-1. Stupid preseason rankings. I also don't understand how michigan moves up two spots after squeaking a win against indiana.

Then of course Oklahoma state jumps up 4 spots after taking care of business against grambling st but we remain steady. Especially after the way vatech took out miami. At least in that poll we'll get more credit beating a ranked missouri team. :) (still silly to think about a signature win against missouri)

  11. Well the rain makes a difference. Miami's speed is neutralized. Their defender fell down on the second score (granted it was still going to be a big gain). But it is fun and painful to watch (hate miami but we were so close)

Correct me if i'm wrong, but they get A LOT of rain in Miami and they should know how to play in some rain as well if not better than VT. I don't put the weather in this as a factor

You're wrong. Miami's style of offense (pass heavy) suffers in the rain. Watched recievers drop quick thrown balls and the qb fumbled and had trouble with grip early on. Why didn't tech? Different style. Tyrod Taylor spends more time running with the ball tucked. And when a reciever slips in coverage and water is splattering around him...that's a factor.
