  1. I can't read the article, but. . .talk is cheap.  At the same time, press conference quotes are meaningless and shouldn't have much read into them.  Coach Frost said some nice things about his team, he also declared them a 4-8 team until they themselves prove otherwise.  Who gives a crap?  I missed where he declared the team "back and here to stay".  I'm not saying anything Earth-shattering here, I know :|

SDU gave the Huskers a hard time when T-Mart was a freshman. Nebraska won, but I don’t remember the score. But if Minnesota is supposed to be a player in the West, they didn’t show it tonight.

17-3 in 2010.  59-20 in 2013 with freshman Tommy Armstrong starting his first game.  Neither of those outcomes really means much in the context of 2019 of course.  Minny looked average.  Just 1 game, but. . .we'll see.

From left to right on the pic above:

Not sure, Jason Peter(s), Tony Veland, Marc Munford, Jay Foreman (tinaca big baby), Keslay Brothers, Steve Warren, and Kenny Wilhite, not sure who is one one knee at the bottom.

Bowman on the left, Craver on a knee.

I always felt Bo understood the tradition, but didn't quite grasp the optics of it all. Making players earn it during the season was fine and dandy, but it turned it into this big circus talking point every season which was incredibly ironic given his personality. And then, more than once, defenses would 'earn' the Blackshirts only to have a complete a$$ of a performance a week or two later. So, it ended up just sort of making a mockery of the whole thing.

I didn't mind it during Bo's first couple of years but felt he should've changed his tune after that. Hand them out at the beginning of the year and be done with it. Great defense is what gave the Blackshirts meaning, not the other way around, and I feel like the latter became more of a focal point at times the last 20 years.

I could be wrong, but I thought the '07 defense chose as a team to turn their Blackshirts in. Or, one guy did it and then a bunch of others followed.

Here's a recap of the 2007 defense in re: how the blackshirts were surrendered/lost.  I only vaguely remembered Zack Bowman giving up his.

I am SOOOOOO much older than you, let me drop some wisdom! (Born in 85)

This is a product of technology/social media/access to instant information.  These opportunities simply were not available pre-2010 even really.  Attention spans are shrinking by the year so the media feels the hyperbole must be cranked up continuously to grab eyeballs.

Yeah, think of the media sources today didn't even exist pre-internet.  Yahoo!, Rivals, 247, whomever.  It's definitely bloated.  Like me.  A fellow 85er :o

Obviously I doubt she wrote that herself, but still. . . :devil

Actually, no. I'm thinking more like a 10-2 loss to Northwestern, or 5-0 to Kansas State.

8-7 to a godawful Penn State team in 2017?  3-2 to a pretty bad Rutgers team in 2016?  Losing every series to Iowa after 2012?  Scoring 1 run against Western Carolina in the 2016 regional (a team that gave up 30+ runs total in their other two games at said regional)?  Before somebody suggests it: NO, no team has ever gone undefeated.  But I wouldn't even put Oklahoma State Saturday night near the list of weirdest losses the last 8 years.

Not a bad spot at all to land in this regional - especially considering it is a neutral site in OKC and we were projected at hostile environments in Starkville and Ark.

Hopefully we big the bats south on I—35!

Stillwater is an hour away.  That'd be like calling the B1G tournament neutral.

Here’s hoping Erstad can win they tourney and it’s enough to snag a regional bid.

Erstad definitely schedules tough enough that as long as they finish above .500, they'll be in more often than not (2015 was an exception, I think Texas tanked that year, go figure and screw them).  Not to dump in the middle of a successful conference tourney run, but better play from the end of March to beginning of May, and this team might have had a shot at hosting a regional.  But they're definitely in somewheres.
