  1. The Florida Marlins won two World Series titles. The Tampa Bay Rays are annual competitors in the AL East. They have awful attendance, even despite moving the Marlins to a new stadium in Miami with a BIG UGLY HOME RUN FOUNTAIN! What more do people in Florida want/need? Eichorst has nothing to do with their bandwagoning. Unless he could have gotten LeBron James some eligibility for football.

  2. This dude just won't shut up. A NEW article with more quotes:

"It's definitely going to be a priority," Gilbert said of delivering hits on Martinez. "I mean, let's face it, he's a soft kid.

"When things don't go his way and when he fumbles a little bit, that comes with getting hit hard and getting hit hard the whole game. That's an element we're trying to bring to the D-line."

"They'll be in their environment, but when your crowd starts booing you, what are you going to do? How are you going to respond? That's the kind of response we're going to find out from Taylor Martinez on Saturday."

Nice to see badger fans in the comments section (all 2 of them so far) telling this idiot to shut his mouth.

  3. First off, our offense is the best it's been in years. If we can get our defense up to task(which it looks like we are trying to do with playing more athletic guys even if they are younger), which you have to trust Bo to do now. I highly doubt it has anything to do with Boosters wanting Bo out, etc. TO don't play that homie.

Agreed. And all facility projects are in order, changes have been made in baseball and men's basketball that will require 4-5 years to evaluate, everything is pretty well taken care of financially, there just doesn't appear to be much of anything that needs to be done.

  4. There's a reason that they have Musberger do the premiere game every Saturday, and that is because he is the best.

You're trusting the opinion of a network that has kept Chris Berman decades past his expiration date? OK.

  5. This year we have ave'd 23pts a game. That takes Pelini's yearly ave up to 20.5. If you take out 2009 because Suh was a once in a lifetime player and greatly changes the average, Pelini's yearly ave jumps to 23. Pretty middle of the road defense.

Actually, if you take out a fumble recovery in the endzone, a 100 yard kickoff return, and a safey, Pelini's defense is giving about 17 pts per game. Qualifying statistics to make an argument goes both ways.

And, as a mathematician as certified by the University of Nebraska-Omaha, I can shave a few tenths off as well by actually adding the total number of points given up through x-number of years instead of just adding the rounded averages and then averaging that, which through 2011 means Pelini has given around 19.7 ppg (without adjusting for special teams and defensive TDs scored by the opponent) :rulez:P But then I realize that means I have too much free time.

  6. By far the highlight of the game is the announcer screamin, "UCLA IS BACK!!!"after the 3rd td.... against rice..... awesome

I lol'd when he said that.

not far off though, UCLA is a basketball school. typically an also ran

I may have had a few too many but I really have no idea what you're trying to say.

Strig implies that UCLA was never that great to begin with. By saying that they are indeed back means they're back to being above average at best. I concur!

  7. You see the staff being more careful with redshirts this year, as in they are really thinking through it. Last year we saw guys go in as true freshmen, play a few snaps, and waste their RS year. (i.e. Aaron Green, Braylon Heard) and there were some others. Maybe the staff learned from that last year and is going to do a better job of either redshirting the kids or playing them several snaps to stay away from this 10 play freshman year stuff.

Braylon Heard had a leg infection.
