  1. UH. Calm down everybody and read the fine print.

"This holiday season, ESPN Classic wants to give SportsNation a very special gift by broadcasting some of the best bowl games dating back to 1979. It's all part of the 12 Bowls of Christmas. The best part about the project? You get to choose the games you want us to broadcast! "

Obviously they can only LIST THE GAMES THEY HAVE BROADCAST RIGHTS TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

You make a good point, but I would think some of those games listed would be under the rights of other broadcasting co.s too--i.e, NBC, CBS, Fox.

For e.g, who covered TX's win for the NC over USC('06)? Or OSU over MIA('03)?

Both of those games were on ABC.

  2. I like that just because GT runs the option, they're an unstoppable, mid-90s NU juggernaut. You guys are freaks. They put 10 points on Gardner Webb for god's sake. They're good, but the option is not in and of itself unstoppable.

    you gotta be kidding...

I don't believe anyone said they were unstoppable until your post.

no one is unstoppable. not even PJ's spread option.

But he has taken 9-3 GT a lot farther than some folks thought he would in his first year. They are currently ranked #15 in the AP poll.

They are performing at a pretty high level NOW.... when it counts. Hard to stop now? obviously.

They knocked miami out of the rankings and beat then #15 fla st.

THEY BEAT #13 GEORGIA -- AT GEORGIA!

That's why he is in the hunt for national coach of the year awards.

PJ is even leading this goofy internet popularity contest--

Then why are so many posters going out of their way to say we don't want to play them? Screw that, bring it on. If Georgia Tech ran, say, the WCO, all things being equal, I highly doubt anybody would be pissing their pants in fear like they are now. Bawww. I'm not saying they're bad, I just don't get why anybody's AFRAID to play them? It's retarded. I'm not saying we'll blow them out or even beat them, I'm just sick of getting the sense that people think the option is the greatest scheme invented. And they still only scored 10 points on Gardner Webb. Explain it.

Oh god, Georgia. I heard about Georgia every week from my brother-in-law who went to a school in the state of Georgia so he thinks that's enough for him to be a fan of theirs, and declare that they would win the next 2 national championships. At that point I knew they would lose at least 3 this year, he's good at picking losers (I could go into his list of other favorite teams, but they're all so lousy I doubt anybody's even heard of the Oakland Raiders.)

  3. I really hate the huskers.com highlight videos. They more often than not are just poor camera angles and don't make for good videos. I wish we had more access to television broadcast camera angles (I only get to record what's on normal cable =/, and most of the time we get embarassed on those channels).

I know. Since I'm a local yokel or whatever, I record as much news footage as I can on top of the network footage and coach's show. Camera angles are top priority, the more the merrier.

  4. Boo hoo. Yes I'd still rather have a dusty national title trophy then a case full of nothing but dust, genius. I'm sure you will have tons of fun getting monkey-stomped in another Big XII title game, and I would prefer my team be there then not, but I doubt it'll take long for NU to make their way back.

  5. A graduate from the Colorado University's School of Agriculture decided to start a chicken farm. He bought a farm, cleared the land and prepared the ground. He ordered 10,000 chicks and proceeded to bury them up to their necks in the ground. Though he watered them everyday, they soon died. He was determined to follow his dream so he ordered 10,000 more chicks and buried them head down. Though he again watered and weeded, they soon died. Frustrated he wrote the Dean of the CU's School of Agriculture and explained all that he had done. After a few days he received a reply from the Dean: Please send soil samples.

Did you know that 9 out of 10 coeds are good looking? The other one goes to CU.

This post has been stamped with the papersun87 Seal of Win. :horns2

I concur. The above post is indeed a winner.

Am I the only one who finds the whole Bogasm stuff both creepy and a little gay? :confucius

    I'm with you bob :wtf

  7. I know we don't play for a trophy, but has there ever been ideas proposed about possibly making a trophy for the game?

    Just curious..

NU vs. CU isn't a rivalry. There shouldn't be a trophy.

  8. I'm not guaranteeing victory, but I don't believe that the coaches will allow this team to rest on their laurels based on a victory over Kansas. If fans underestimate KSU, I don't see how that impacts the team themselves, so long as they focus properly. KSU is pure stank on the football field. Nebraska SHOULD beat them by at least 10-14.

I hope everyone else on this board is right and we walk all over KSU. But when the fans underestimate a team and all the talk around campus from students is "we are gonna kill KSUcks" etc., it can't help but have an impact on the team. They don't live in isolation. That and the feeling of accomplishment from getting the blackshirts, and I'm worried about this game. Don't think for an instant that the KSU coaches aren't playing up the handing out of the blackshirts as "wow, Nebraska thinks they have a great defense now." If KSU has early success, and their Husker-hating fans get into it, I see it being a long, tough game.

Is that the talk going around campus now? Even so, I'm willing to bet they've had Pelini pound it in their head that they can't take any team for granted at this point far more than they've heard some dork in english class telling them they're invincible, and hopefully they'd know who is more trustworthy in such a situation. Besides, I think they'd want the fans to be confident in them. I've never played football, but I find it easier to get things done when people are confident in me opposed to sitting back waiting for me to screw up.

  10. So you want mean comments? I don't know, maybe something like "Why do Iowa State students wear red and yellow to football games? So they can head right back to their shift at McDonald's afterwards." Whatever, I'm sure somebody can come up with something better.

  11. :koolaid2: Great vid, I love the clips used and the mixing of them and the mixing of the audio. :cowbell:

How did you get those clips, if you don't mind me asking

The Nebraska Baseball Show is on around the state Sunday nights, that's where the bulk of video comes from. I taped news highlights and games televised also.
