Congrats to the Huskers on the win today! Especially in the first half, the players played with allot of pride. It was good to see for Coach Joseph, the team, the school, and the fans. I am also thankful that you kept the Hawks away from Ohio State in the B1G Championship game, as it would have been a bloodbath. Whoever you next coach is, hopefully you will find success, just keep your ego and personal goals in check, as it may take some time.

    Ohio State you say?

You get opportunity when you win, that's what he did. Got another one for losing in the NFL so I'm not sure what I'm trying to say.

It also hasn't been announced yet, and the search firm Alberts hired kept the lid so freaking tight on the USC process nobody saw Lincoln Riley coming until the actual press conference, so who knows? But bottom line, I will definitely not guarantee Rhule would be wildly successful at Nebraska, but I'm seeing and hearing a lot of "HIS RECORD SUCKS!" or "HE CAN'T RECRUIT PLAYERS TO THE BIG 10!" which is just odd because he didn't stick around at those two jobs very long to really get a handle on any of that.

  3. Rhule's NFL failure was less embarrassing than Urban Meyer's spectacular flame-out. The only difference is Rhule didn't stay at either of his college jobs to prove his 10+ win seasons at Temple and Baylor weren't somehow flukes.

You couldn’t be more right. We have never been the same program since that very game!

The cracks were showing the year before when Oklahoma scored 31 points in a row and thumped the pre-season #1 team in the country.

The "curse" began when Bill Byrne was not allowed to hire his own coach. If he had been able to hire a guy like Mack Brown or even Bob Stoops, Nebraska would most likely have been far better off.

  5. I don't know who makes the call on rain delays, but it was reported that Purdue declined Maryland's request for a Friday doubleheader based on a "window" today. The window was there, and Purdue didn't take it, meaning there is strong evidence of cowardly intent. If I were a fan of that program, I would be deeply embarrassed. I don't think the Big 10 front office had any say, so blaming them just makes us look stupid (I saw one person on either Twitter or FB, forget which, saying it was Kevin Warren's decision. Please, let's stop with that crap.)

But with that said, the series loss to Minnesota means this team doesn't deserve jack. That was not as embarrassing as being such a bunch of craven infants as Purdue is, but still extremely shameful. The season ending today is fair, and winning 3 of the last 4 is a nice little consolation heading into next year, where by all accounts Will Bolt will be going scorched earth on the roster, looking to bring in 18 new players (apparently the roster capacity does bump up to 40, too, which helps.)

f#&% me Alice...there goes my credit score

I wonder if you put a bunch of spoons on your face (since vaccines magnetize you, you know, according to this brave doctor), I'm talking, like, hundreds and hundreds of spoons, if all that metal will help dampen the signals beaming out of your headbones from the TOXIC JAAARRRRRRRRBBBBB and save your Google credit score? I didn't even know Google had its own credit service but it does not surprise me.

So, if Fred were to be let go in the middle of the season due to this, I’m assuming Doc would be interim HC?

I have no idea, but that seems possible if they had to recall the Mayor immediately.

So, if the rumors are true, I still don't get why the team has played so friggen bad.

Unless, the team knew what was being investigated behind the scenes and that distracted them from just playing good BB.

Some people are using the flu to excuse the losses to Michigan and Auburn, admittedly that may have added to the margin of defeat a little. But I just don't think Hoiberg is as good a coach as advertised :hmmph TJ Otzelberger was the real genius at ISU, kind of like how Tim Miles never sniffed the NCAAs again after Craig Smith left.

He still talks way to much about catching a "break" or if one thing happened different etc. As if going 3-9 is not his fault but up to luck and how the chips may fall type of crap. I am going to start using this at my job and see how long I last.

That's exactly why Bill Parcells said "you are what your record says you are", zero tolerance for magical thinking (i.e. "bad luck"). Our opponents could probably say "if we just had one or two more breaks or less mistakes we would have beaten NU by double digits!" <_<

This dude wants to run the ball over 70% of the time yet Wisconsin has NEVER ran the ball that much. They're around 61% to 66% at their highest run percentage in past 20 years. I just looked it up.

Wisconsin ran 60 plays in the 2012 CCG, 50 of which were runs (83%). 3 of their TDs were runs of 56, 57 and 68, and they had a 9-yard TD that was a 1-play drive thanks to a turnover. Wisconsin did not throw a single pass in the second half. Hilarious for anyone to cite that one game as a model for Nebraska to follow when it had far more to do with Pelini being so ill-prepared it's amazing he ever got a job again than anything Wisconsin did.

In the past 18 years, trying to throw the ball, Nebraska has nothing to show for it. Why keep trying to do what everyone else is doing, and continue to fail? We made it to the B1G Title game once, and what did Wisconsin do to absolutely DESTROY us?

I'll give you a hint. It wasn't by throwing.

Ah yes, of course, all Nebraska has to do is run 70%+ of the time AND wait for multiple teams in the division to be on probation so we can finally win a conference championship. It's so obvious now. Oh wait, we should probably convince the winner of the other division to hire a coach who has married himself to a defensive philosophy that only worked against 2010s Big 12 offenses just to be safe.

You realize none of the national champions in the past 20 years has run the ball more than 70% of the time, right?  If running the ball 70% of the time is the key to success then why aren't more teams doing it?

They would have won the national championship even harder if they had!

    Or, um, something.

  12. I once had a dream one February night that the Dodgers were going to win the world series. This was strange, because I'm not really a die hard Dodger fan. But lo and behold, they made the World Series that year...and got pounded by Boston. Dream interpretation is a waste of time, is my point :thumbs:koolaid2:

“A lot of people, especially with me transferring, didn’t really want to tell me I could be a full-time receiver and do the things I’m doing now,” Robinson told reporters after his 181-yard day against the Aggies. “My old coach wanted to tell me that I wasn’t a receiver, so I just put my head down and worked since I got here in the spring and wanted to make the impact that I could.

“Now, luckily, things are paying off.”

His old coach sounds like a real f***ing moron.

    Wait.

    Oh no.
