  1. depending on if any more players get suspended or dismissed from the team. if it is just these 2, OU will still be a team to be watched

Good call. Unless they lose Adrian Peterson or some key defensive guys, they will still be a damn good team. One that will give all of the South Division a very tough game at home or on the road.

  2. I think it's a pretty big + for NU. Kids will look at that and see that the NCAA is closely monitoring them and will pick up on any little thing they do, so I'm assuming a smart kid wouldn't want to be anywhere near a team that is under the magnifying glass and has had previous problems involving more than one student in a single incident.

  3. 3rd Hand information...Kicker and another player probably gone from OU, and 6 others under investigation.

Again, grain of salt and such, but rumors are really a'flyin!

    Here's the quote on TexAgs...

"Take it for what it's worth.. coming from a OU doctor friend... Hartley (the only scholarship kicker) and DJ Wolfe are gone and 6 others are under investigation. Bomar's dad is squealing like a stuck pig"

Anybody heard anything more?? Maybe along these lines ^^^ ??

  4. Not really. After my senior season I just kinda decided what was best academically and financially. It was a good decision at the time, and still is, but I think I missed out on a great opportunity.

  5. No. With a one-point loss to KState, I don't see the team rebounding well enough to beat CU, let alone destroy them. I think that it would have changed the outcome of the entire season so dramatically that we would all be questioning BC and Stevie P right now.

  6. We just had a Buffalo Wild Wings open up here in Des Moines so I think I'm going to go now!!! Man I love me some good hot wings!!!! :thumbs

Most definitely. They have like 10 sauces year round then 2 that they change periodically. They had some garlic basil one the last time I went. It was a nice change from the typical hot wings. Now I'm craving some wings. Too bad the only BWW in Nebraska is in the Lincoln area.

  7. It seems everyone is getting a little cranky with this whole idea. The thing is, it was just that, an idea. No one said we were going to have a hostile takeover and force Stevie P to get black jerseys. It was simply the opinion of some people to see what others thought of this idea. There's no need to cut them down, likewise there's no reason for them to cut you down for being "old." The vision for something in the future is what keeps us going. Had it not been for Stevie P's vision to hire BC, then who knows where our program could be. Think about all the people who were mad when BC was hired. Ok, so black isn't one of our colors, big deal. Like you all said, it's never going to happen. Either way, it was something to discuss and hear opinions, but not a place for cut-downs.

  8. Since the collapse of Nebraska, Colorado and Kansas State, which ruled in the mid-to-late '90s, will the Big 12 North ever be able to cycle the power back from the "big money" schools in the South?

    --Bret, Omaha, Neb.

If you look at it from a historical perspective, the current situation was probably inevitable. When the divisions were set up, the South got two of the most dominant programs in history, Texas and Oklahoma, and a third, Texas A&M, with long-standing tradition. The North got one such juggernaut, Nebraska, along with two programs, Colorado and K-State, whose track records were much more recent and limited. At the time the conference started in 1996, the Longhorns and Sooners were admittedly down, but with their resources and built-in talent pipeline from the state of Texas, it was only a matter of time before someone came along and kicked them back into gear, in this case Mack Brown and Bob Stoops. Meanwhile CU and K-State have fallen on hard times, and none of the other three North schools (Missouri, Iowa State and Kansas) have yet been able to reach the upper tier.

That's not to say it will be this way forever, though. All things are cyclical in this sport, especially the balance of power among conferences. Though I do think both UT and OU will remain strong as long as their current coaches are in place, Nebraska is too proud a program not to rise up again, be it under Bill Callahan or someone else. And Colorado has had everything that could go wrong happen over the past few years. Dan Hawkins may be the guy to return the Buffs to the days of Darian Hagan and Eric Bienemy. You never know.

  9. I played against Koch in high school. I was a sophomore and he was a junior or senior. They beat us 56-7. It's weird cuz I was the starting punter at my high school and I really didn't think he was that much better than me. Obviously he has worked hard to get to where he is. Too bad I couldn't have followed the same path. Best of luck!
