The student section gets funneled up from the very bottom row to the very top row. Your plan of action is probably the one I'd take, and once you go up the ramps you'll see where all the students are. It's a pretty big section so you could probably fit in anywhere. Just be prepared to stand up all game and get squished like a chinese person. Oh, and watch out for the bottle rockets.

Section 19 is on of the season ticket pockets. 8-15 is the main student section. What kind of ticket do you have? You will have to process through your gate but after that you can go up with him to the student section since it's not reserved seating.
