  1. KansasHusker, it's actually from a long feature piece on Glenn in the Lincoln Journal Star. Glenn himself says they probably won't have the same starters throughout the year.
  2. NU has not brought their "A" game on the road for the past couple of years. Beginning with the First Dark Season (2002)...it just seemed that every time we hit the road, we'd lose, unless it was against Baylor... Granted, give Iowa State its due. They have a good, experienced quarterback, which you can't say for most of the rest of the Big 12, and stand the best chance of chellenging us for the North title.
  3. Hm, Cory Ross did very well in their latest preseason game agains the Vikes...(link) 6 carries, 23 yards to lead all Ravens rushers including Mike Anderson who had 7 carries, 11 yards; 1 catch for 5 yards; and 4 kickoff returns averaging 24.2 yards (Sams had 3 with a 20.7 average, which is even better news ) Look at the Sam Koch statline though. He's got a monster leg. 5 punts - averaging 51 yards a kick, with a long of 61.
  4. Pretty sure that was sarcasm...i.e, that's not over-the-top at all. The article was very supportive of Keller.
  5. We're focusing on our running game, and our o-line is improved, but we're not going to see the Power football days of old. We may have a big day running, but I think 150 yds would be a big day...maybe I'm wrong...but remember, with the new clock changes, there'll be less time, less plays, and presumably less offense every game... Still, I'm excited at what could happen with the running game this year.
  6. Not at one school. Dukes went to Duke (hehe) I believe; Dailey's at UNC, Beck went to NC State. Don't know who the fourth guy was. Same state though.
  7. I think we'll top 150 yards rushing, 200 may be a little optimistic for our first game. I think one of our backs struggling would set of more alarms than one of our backs standing out here...
  8. Ross is competing with B.J. Sams? Uh oh. AFAIK, Sams is a proven quality return specialist O_O Good for Koch though!
  9. Although some ESPN stories, including one we were complaining about earlier, are actually just from the AP feed, to be fair...
  10. Don't worry about Mandel. I'm sure he has no vendetta against NU, and he's listed us as one of 16 national title contenders this year.
  11. Yeah, best sample pic I could find to work with...sorry, didn't know about A/V section, will remember that. Of course, Sam Keller is magic and clearly that ball is going to zip out of his hands and into his receiver's arms 90 yards downfield within the next half second...
  12. Citizens, I come from the future. [original] I know, I'm not the greatest photoshop doctor in the world, but I gave it a shot.
  13. I wonder if had Beck not left, we would've gone for Keller. If we did, I bet Beck doesn't say "Bring it on" like Ganz and leaves anyway. Things are looking up
  14. Been linked before, but looks like the article has some new wrinkles. WHOO! Hey, our Football A.D. sounds like he could work for the FBI.
  15. I don't want to make any Taylor-Keller comparisons. I think we all practically worship Taylor. He is like Jesus to Husker Nation. He's tough, a fearless leader, and delivered far more than we expected. But to say Keller's stats last year weren't impressive would be mistaken, I think...remember, he sat out five games due to injury...All of his ints came in three games: 2, 5, 2. Take from that what you will.
  16. If I'm not mistaken, we lose our starting Defensive front four, they're all seniors, aren't they? Which underclassmen do you think will go pro?
  17. Wait just a sec! He "enrolled" before too, remember? But he didn't register for classes then, so nothing was definite. What's different this time? Argh! I'm holding my breath until a reliable source says "Sam Keller is now a Quarterback for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and will be in 2007."
  18. I really like Nate Swift as receiver. He seems more of a leader type, even if he isn't twenty feet tall. I think he and Nunn keep the starting positions as long as they're Huskers, and the younger guys get rotated in often. We're going to have a deep receiving corps Besides, how can you have a cooler name than NATE SWIFT?
  19. Keller's father says he has made a decision?! If that's true - if that's true - then maybe this time he actually HAS made a decision.
  20. Hey now. We don't need any more confusion. Snakes? Elvis? Lost teddy bears of youth forlorn? Sam Keller? I don't know what's real anymore.
  21. It's all good We're all very anxious to hear anything about Keller, anyway.
  22. Yeah, McKeon rocks. I think he definitely gets the starting nod. Maybe either he or Dillard will move to one of the other linebacker positions next year, or maybe we'll run 3-4 or 4-4...maybe Also, Bo Ruud deserves a mention. And that Lance Brandenburgh guy. I just love our linebacking corps.
  23. Yeah, Cory Ross ought to start somewhere, IMO. I'd forgotten about the Eagles and Davis...hm. You know...he should check out Denver...place where he's from, and I guarantee you if he signs there, one of these years he's going to break out as a 1,000-yd back...
  24. To this I have but one thing to say: GROAAAAAAHR! Let's stop talking about this. Let's make the local media stop talking about this. Sam Keller has enough on his hands without all of Cornhusker Nation shoving him under their collective microscope.
