  1. I was talking on the phone tomy brother and he was throwing a TD, the next thing I know they have the ball again but meier was in
  2. It was not our best game and we still beat a ranked team at their place in one of the toughest places to play in the country. I cant see how you cant be happy
  3. If it is a Dislocated Shoulder he can be back for Colorado if needed. so no official word yet? that is strange
  4. like you could stop yourself if you wanted too. I could have been at my grandma's funeral, I would have jumped up and yelled asloud as I could. It was to awesome not to.
  5. this could also be due to lack of depth at some of our positions
  6. I never did hear what happened to him. I know he was down for a while. anyone know
  7. and were impressed. I think this game was huge for recuiting. national TV, with the 2nd best team in texas. and we come away with a beauty. now lets win at arrowhead
  8. I doubt that you thought that osborne could win us one after miami killed us in 1990. then he changed some of his coaching ways and..........the rest is history(or should I say legend?). this guy is a young coach who has been a head coach for how many years? give him a chance
  9. so, how many of you turned of the game at some point? after the int I turn my TV off for like a minute. then thought " what kind of a fan am I?" I listened to the whole T tech game 2 years ago I am going to watch this. so glad I did!!
  10. he might not be the best QB we have had, but he is my favorite. he's tough plays hard and is a great leader. he reminds me a lot of a certain 2nd string QB from our 95 team.
  11. I totally disagree. we didn't always win the conference. and we werent always playing for a NT. If we win nine games(and we have 3 shots to do that so I think we will)along with the north title, we will be up to the standards of old NU teams. anti cally people seem to forget what football was like at NU from 73-92
  12. everything I hear about the guy is positive. I hope we can keep ahold of this guy for many years. he really sounds like a nebraska type of guy: god, family, and football
  13. come on guys...some of those are funny. we can laugh a little more after we win
  14. do we have a chance to get bates to stay in state? he's a heck of an athlete, and we could always use him as a QB, and switch him later if it doesnt work.
  15. I would love to add either of these guys, but I dont know if either would come here on less cally leaves, and they take his job
  16. If you say so. you might want to look at the video again either way If it was legal it still took one of themore remarkable plays in recent fooball history (on the last play of the game) PLUS overtime to win
  17. you do have to take into account the fact that we are running the ball more. I think that has helped the d's stats simply by having possesion of the ball and not letting the other team's O on the field.
  18. that is considered by many to be the greatset team EVER. holding the current or future teams to that standard is not fair or realistic. the point is that great teams do have close games to average teams.
  19. why do people think that we ALWAYS killed people? do they not remember? even when we were at our best we still needed an illegal kick of a ball on the last play of game to beat MU or a punt return to beat KU. wins are wins. end of story
  20. More imortantly, why even try. Because it's fun to think about and it helps develop a more critical eye while watching a game hence raising the enjoyment level. When I was 12, I understood touchdowns and huge plays. After a few years of playing on the O line (not in college, don't think I'm trying to talk myself up here) with a team that did a lot of pulling and stunts (we had a fast line-- I was the fastest on the team in a 400 yard shuttle) I really, really appreciate huge blocks and clever blocking schemes a lot. I think that reflecting on and discussing the presence or absence of key players makes us more aware and we have more things to watch and cheer for. I mean, pancakes and just straight up smashing someone in the open field is great, but when you see how a pulling guard held up a tackle enough to make a nice little hole for a running back to blast through or how a leading blocker knocked a line backer just enough... well... that's nice to see, too. So yeah, if I had the time and the desire, it would be fun to go back and look at the texas game and see how many plays might have turned out differently if we had a LB in who was just a smidge faster or a smidge stronger or a smidge smarter... you know? It would really make me key on them and be aware of what our D does. Woudl that help me? Would that help the huskers do any better? Nah, but it would be something interesting to talk about it with the few fellow football fan friends I have... oh, yeah, sort of like what message boards are for, too Just my 2ยข If a frog had wings he wouldnt bump his ass my point in bringing it up is to say we are very, very close.I think our de needs a cover corner, and a play maker. I think the O needs a big time WR and more consistancy from our line. Its very possible that we could have all of these next year.
  21. Sooner or later(hopefully later) we will have to find a new coach do to whatever reason. If we want to get good canidates we need to give Cally plenty of time .
  22. oh man my bad. I must be lost, I was thinking for some reason this was a sports message board(this type of thing is done on them all of the time)
  23. I've been pleasantly surprised with the chiefs this year. i thought we were screwed after green wen down..
  24. IF we have a healthy zack bowman and steve octavian all year, what do you think our record is right now? Its an interesting thought, good teams are talented and well coached. they are normally abnormally injury free. we have not been so lucky this year. I think that if we would have had both of these guys there is a good chance that we are one of those one loss team fighting for a bcs bid. hopefully we can build the depth to overcome injuries in the future.
  25. our there any 3 loss teams ahead of us?? i think the rankings are about right. If we win sat and beat the buffs we should move into the top 20 again.
