Husker fans don't hate the Buffs because they're a great challenge, but because of the reputation of their fans, i.e., having to empty the student section during games, etc.

The $50 million dollar upgrades in facilities. Winning tradition. History of putting players in the league. Fan support. A legend as AD. Playing infront of sellouts virtually every game. There are some pros. My point is that there may be something of an issue with the lame duck messenger and uncertainty. Also, facilities, legends and history don't develop players. Staffing is crucial and right now that aspect is a leap of faith. 18 year old kids from out of state didn't grow up on Husker football and have little sense of what Osborne did 10 years and more ago or what Devaney did back over 40 years ago. Recent history is not looking good.

You'd probably be hard pressed to find anyone who believed there wree not going to be changes. Now, how extensive and who goes, that's the million dollar question. It will be interesting to see what changes.

I think part of the reason the D gave up that many points was that they were on the field quite a bit the second half. The O had a couple of three and outs, then a quick first down and three more plays and punt. In a game like this where you know your D isn't very good the O has to help them out and put points up and keep the clock moving. I agree. They were bound to get tired and run out of gas. additionally, with all the chances we gave TX to bust loose on some big gains, given our frequent rushing, they were bound to get some. The O needed to keep theirs off the field more.
