I've been in panic mode since the end of last season. If there's a positive somewhere, I'd like you to point it out to me. And no, "at least we're not Michigan or Notre Dame" isn't going to work.
Yes, they happened. They had little effect on the outcome of the game though. USC would've just had to keep their foot on the gas a little longer.
It must be really deppressing to be you.
Thanks for the psychoanalysis Dr Freud. Just because I see things as they are doesn't mean I'm depressed.
Hmmm....I thought I adequately addressed my point. I don't have blind loyalty to anyone. You can call it self-righteous, I just call it who I am. Nevertheless, your point it well taken. It's certainly not the fault of the kids. It's too bad they're caught in the middle of this mess. OTOH, they may learn a lesson about the highs and lows of life.
I saw it, and I'm not going to argue with Dr. Rob. I thought he said that was pretty much the case across the board with USC, not just the defense, but I could've misunderstood him.
No apology needed, it was actually done in the mid-90s very quietly. There was never an official announcement or anything. Kind of strange that it worked that way too, there's usually some level of freak-out involved anytime the slightest change is made to the football program.
Does that mean Bob Stoops would have got it done in the same amount of time in this situation? Does it really matter what certain coaches did (good or bad) for other programs in different situations?
Ummm...that's kinda what this thread is about.

This is the dumbest argument I have ever seen on a message board. I'm sure you're married to a model.
I think he made a damn good point.
You haven't noticed? I've had it since the end of last season. Pretty much everyone here hates me because of it.
As far as after the Nevada game, nothing was proven either way in that game. I was out of town that weekend anyway so I wasn't around the board much.
Yeah, we suck, but at least we're not as bad as (insert team here). That's what we as Husker fans have always aspired for. And as far as what everyone has said, I've bookmarked a few things. As for me, I haven't wavered one bit.
OMG A CONSPIRACY!!!1
You should know better. Pearlman, Pedersen and Callahan have weekly meetings on how they can continue to screw up the athletic department. They relished the opportunity to come to NU and ruin the whole thing and it was their intention from the start! Duh!
You know, it doesn't surprise me when others here put words in my mouth, but when someone who is supposed to be setting an example does it...weak.
