  1. KU finished 4th last near. Not the bottom. Where have you been I am I?
  2. Yep. Don't overlook Wake, but it's hard for fans not to!! I can't wait to see NU and USC get it on in Lincoln. I think Nebraska can beat them!
  3. LOL, I'm telling ya. KU looks legit man. If the Big 12 overlooks this team there will be alot of upset fans out there. They are that good. I talked to a guy from Texas that watched Reesing play QB in High school. he said that every Friday night was like watching a man play amongst boys. He was always finished playing by halftime. Reesing is that good. I'm telling ya, NU VS KU in November will be for the North.
  4. Geeez. No love. That's ok. I know what KU has. I was at the game and watched Todd Reesing dismantle a good CMU defense. No way KSU (a team we beat 39-20 last year....it should have been worse) beats us in Mancrappin. It just won't happen. Freeman will gift wrap that game for us and we'll win by 17. Write it down. KSU is the most overated team in the country. Josh Freeman is GARBAGE. I do agree that we will lose @ A&M. But outside of that game there is no sure loss on that schedule. OSU got whipped by an average Georgia Bulldog team. They exposed the OSU defense for what it is. And don't get me started on Gary Pinkel and Missouri. They a$$ is grass come November @ Arrowhead. Reesing is gonna have a field day with that defense. I can't wait.
  5. You giving us a good deal on new tires this year? OUCH! I saw that e-mail coming from a mile away! I had NO PART in that nonsense. Every fan base has a few idiots that ruin it for everyone.
  6. The thing you have to remember is that Missouri can't stop the run and they have an average secondary. And on offense, the O-line is not protecting Chase Daniel. He took some monster shots this weekend from Illinois. As for KSU. Freeman had his usual 3 turnover ball game, two picks and a fumble. Their defense looked solid, but it was against an Auburn offense that replaced 9 starters from a year ago. All in all KSU's offense found a way to lose the game for their defense.
  7. I want to be the first from Jayhawk nation to congratulate Nebraska on a great W against a good Nevada squad. I was extremely impressed with the play of Marlon Lucky. This kid just might live up to the hype. He was unstoppable on Saturday. The Husker Line was making holes semi drivers could go through. Great job all around Huskers. As for my Jayhawks, what the hell was that?? We actually have some team speed this year! Jesus Christ! That defense was flying to the ball and did anyone catch the performace Todd Reesing had!?! 4 td's, 264 yards! WOW. Jake Sharp & B Mac combined for 226 yards!! 580 total yards of offense against the defending MAC Champions Central Michigan!! I still can't belive it! And Aqib Talib may be the best player I've ever seen in person. Good god. Forget KSU, forget MU, the North will be decided in Lawrence in November. I'm going to be cheering like heck for the Huskers during the next couple months. And don't think for a second you can't beat USC. They looked awful against Idaho. If they bring that game to Lincoln...forget about it! Huskers by 14. I would love to see an undefeated Nebraska play a 7-1 KU in November for the North. Good luck you guys!!
  8. Not to be a jerk or anything, but KU will beat Nebraska this year. See you in Lawrence! KU 52 CMU 7 What son!@!!!!!
  9. SI has this wrong. NO WAY KU finishes behind CU. That's just stupid. Here is my prediction for SI. 1. Nebraska 2. Missery 3. Kansas 4. Kansas State 5. Colorado 6. ISU There it is. Save this, and do what you want with it. SI has it wrong.
  10. I called you an expert because you predicted that KU had LESS talent this year, and then went on to explain why Todd McShay and his pick is bad, even though you didn't know the name of the KU QB you were talking about and you have NO IDEA about the players KU has back. I've been kind to most husker fans on this board for the last year now, but seriously, there is a reason no experts picked NU to win the Big 12. You guys aren't as close to being "back" as you think. If you are, please explain why KU embarrassed you in 2005, then went to Lincoln last year and almost beat you guys in OT! On your own field!!! How are you going to come into our house and beat us? I'm confident because we saw what happend last year. KU was a double digit dog on the road against you guys, and heck, we played our 2nd string QB against you!!!! Barman was NOT OUR STARTER! I hate to go off on you guys like this, but you guys brought it on yourself with all of the KU cracks. My invitation to tailgate with you guys is off the table. See you in Lawrence, and I hope you over look us like you have the last 2 years. And to go along with what I just wrote....you guys sound really stupid talking about how bad KU is when we beat you in 05 and took you to the wire in OT last year in your back yard. Seriously man, this kind of talk is going to get old for the next 30 years. You might want to pace yourself on the '05 references. You don't want to run out and start repeating yourself with 28 years of drought left to endure. What do you typically call a 1 in 35 occurrence? A fluke? An anomaly? A f'ing MIRACLE??? Nice come backs you to! It was wasn't it? Truth hurts sometimes. P.S. It doesn't matter if you win by a point or a 50 points....OT or not, who came out on top. And believe me when I say and you can even quote me, "It will not take OT for us to beat you this year!" GBR We'll just have to wait and see now won't we.
  11. glad to see my post is being ignored here.. 1 outta 35 is completely worthless. Do you honestly think that because we owned the 80's and 90's means anything??? c'mon guys, seriously.... 2006 in Lincoln: NU 39-32 (OT) 2005 in Lawrence: KU 40-15 2004 in Lincoln: NU 14-8 Our two wins both came down to the wire, 6 points and 7 points. And then a 25 point loss?? I believe we will win the north as much as the next guy, but if we refuse to give Kansas some respect i garuntee it will come back to get us. I woulda thought the past 3 years would be a better indicator than how Mike Rozier tore em up 25 years ago Well, maybe when KU amounts to the pile of sh#t that this guy is talking them up to, they will win the close games against teams like Nebraska. (Just like how when NU amounts to the pile of sh#t that we always talk them up to, they will win the close games against teams like Texas.) ok, so you dont think Kansas should be taken seriously because they didn't win some close games with us, BUT im assuming you also think that Nebraska will beat Texas this year, like the rest of the board does?? if you do, your totally not making any sense with your comparison.. Wellllll..... I certainly hope we beat Texas, but I'm not prognosticating victory on Texas boards and rubbing Purify's 75 yard TD grab from last season in peoples faces for my own gratification. I'm not really sure what the point of this entire thread was. Preseason football talk is useless. It basically just gives Kansas fans (and Colorado, KSU, Mizzou, etc etc etc) a chance to act tough until their team is proven useless on the field, as demonstrated here. I read some comments on the KC Star website where people were just coming out of the woodwork talking sh#t about Nebraska. It's like that's the only sense of gratification they have gotten over the last decade for being Mizzou and KU fans. It also gives NU fans several opportunities a day to re-iterate the same predictions over and over and over again and use the dancing banana emoticon when they don't really have anything to say . Or is that corn? I'm going to say it's a banana. People hate Nebraska. Always have, always will. People love to see us lose because we have won for so long. f#*k it dude, let's go bowling. OK, after all that has been said, let me see if I can put an end to this post. The only reason I started talking smack at husker nation is because ya'll started it first. You kept bringing up how bad KU is and how Todd McShay is an idiot and how mangino is fat (that seems to be a husker board favorite). Why are you so annoyed with Todd's pick of KU winning the North? I think it's cool that he is picking a long shot. Would you of been more upset if he would of chose Missouri? All I'm saying is you need to cut teams like KU a break. No one is trying to act tough on here. I respect nebraska and their fan base. But you can't deny the fact that from 2000 and on ya'll really haven't done a whole lot. Really NOBODY from the North has done much, except for KSU in 2003, which I still think was an absolute fluke! All I'm saying is that you guys think your team will restore the order every single year. I think you guys are much better than the 2005 team, but you're still a work in progress. Lets be realistic here. Will you beat USC? NO. Will you beat Texas in Austin? probably not. Will you win the North? Yes. I think with the talent you have you should. But the schedule does set up better for MU. That's just a fact. So don't get it twisted. I exploded on this thread because of the constant KU bashing. Don't be mad about that. You should be more disgusted with the pundits that chose MU over you in the North. General Blackshirt brought up some good points. Respect the opponents, especially in the North. I have a feeling it's going to be another wild finish. OK, now we can be friends again.

  15. Never underestimate Visor Bob. KSU a darkhorse? KU spanked that ____ last year 39-20. No way the Kitty Cats win more than 6 games. My Hawks are gettin some love baby!! Hawks take the north! Yeah!! See you in November Husker nation. You better pack a lunch cause it's gonna be a day full of Reesing to Fields baby! Remember what happend last time you bugeaters visited? 40-15. Ring any bells??? beuller? beuller? Early prediction: KU 41 NU 27 LMAO! Yeah! You don't actually believe that, right? You're just stirring sh#t up? If KU beats us but two touchdowns I will mail my right testicle to the KU med center as a donated specimen for research. WOW. That sounds like a great deal for the KU MED Center. Go ahead and mail it now, actually, go ahead and send both. Oh wait, you already mailed me your left one from the 2005 beatdown in Lawrence. LOL. Nevermind. I'm a little surprised you still have the gurrrr.... to beat again. Thanks.
  16. Oh yeah KS Husker, you're obviosly a KU expert and we should all trust your opinion, yet you don't know who KU's QB is? Give me a break! KU is MORE TALENTED this year and will sneak up on some teams in the North. Will they win it, no. Good god. I'm a KU fan and I'll admit that. I don't have blinders on. I just like to pop off at Husker nation on here and get them all rilled up...seems to be rather easy to do considering our last 3 meetings. Anywho, KU has 14 players returning on defense that started at least 4 games last year. Our backers will be nasty. Our top 2 tacklers Joe Mortenson and Mike Rivera are back. The secondary lead by Aqib Talib will be greatly improved. Our FS Darrel Stuckey is now 100% and will be at least honorable mention by seasons end, and James McClinton is ranked the 7th best DL in the country according to ESPN. His play at Defensive Tackle has been remarkable. Jake Sharp is now 195lbs and should be a go for 15-20 carries a game. They won't have to run him into the ground because there is some serious talent right behind him. He will be helped by a stable of solid running backs. Angus Quigley (Who had the lead over Jon Cornish for the starting job last year) is back from a quad injury that sidelined him for the entire year last year, And Brandon McAnderson is a good fullback and a dependable 3rd down back. The receivers are as experienced as ever with their leading reciever Dexton Fields, Marcus Henry, and Marcus Hereford. True freshman Dezmon Briscoe is battling for time and early indications are that he will not redshirt. As for QB, your Husker secondary will get to know him real quick. He only broke every 4A passing record in the state of Texas while in high school, and the only reason Mack Brown didn't recruit him for UT is because he felt he was too small at 5'10. Big mistake. Early indications are that he is beating out Kerry Meir. There, now you know why KU is considered a darkhorse.

  18. I would buy them now on-line my Husker friends!! You won't be able to buy two tickets for under 120 bucks in Lawrence with NU in town and homecoming. It will be filled to the max this year.
  19. LOL!! Npo way you beat them. Sorry.
  20. Good call Captain Obvious! Free State Brewery serves by far the best beer in the state of Kansas!! I may have to pick up a jug or two from there before kick-off!
  21. One guy is not going to win the game for KU... even if he plays both ways. KU's secondary will be much improved from last year. 3 new starters opposite of Talib. be on the lookout for FS Darrel Stuckey, a Kansas City product that is expected to start from the get go. Talib says he is the best athlete on the team. The opposite cover corner is a juco kid from Butler County. He looked good in the spring game. He has good body control and is alot qicker than Webb was a year ago. KU's defense will be alot better this year. I don't see Nebraska blowin us out anytime soon. I know you Husker fans think you'll be better, but I also think KU will be better. One thing i've noticed after visiting the boards of you guys, MU, KSU and my own KU boards is that everyone is saying the same thing about their team. "This is the year we get over the hump" "This is the year we take the North". We'll just wait and see. But don't think your leaps and bounds better than KU cause basically outside of Cornish the same damn team is back that took you guys into Overtime in Lincoln. I've been trying to figure this one out....how is their defense going to better with 3 new, inexperienced DB's. I'm sorry, but DB's usually don't step right in and have a major impact, although anything is an improvement over Webb. I hear what your sayin OP Husker. Good post. Darrel Stuckey started the last 5 games of the year at Free Safety and he was never 100%. He is a RS Sophomore this year. He does have some experience. Now the other two I hear what you're saying. But they were both highly touted 3 star Juco recruits that have proven that they can get the job done against D-1 talent. last time I checked the KS juco's are still producing some good football players, and I see these guys making an impact from the get go. I mean, we can't be worse than last year against the past. We were 117 in the country!! We can only go up from there.
  22. Um I think you missed the in his post. Sorry about that BGREDSTUCKN, next time I will place the sarcasm symbol next to my post. I was laying it on pretty thick with that statement.

But don't think your leaps and bounds better than KU cause basically outside of Cornish the same damn team is back that took you guys into Overtime in Lincoln. Well spoken....but you only brag that your defense is better than last season. Our TEAM as a whole is much better than last season and will continue to get better as we recruit 4 and 5 star prospects. KU is just not recognized for having strong recruiting and for that.....they will always be "alright" But I just don't see them being a threat to win the North this season....sorry for being honest! I think the KU offense will stay about the same, if not get better. One thing that has hurt KU is the Quarterback play. We can't keep them healthy. Mangino has started 8 different QB's since during 5 years at Kansas. We just can't get a break. This is the first year that we really feel that we have two capable QB's that can play in Kerry Meir and Todd Reesing. If Meir can stay healthy, look out. The guy has talent. He can hurt you with his arm and with his legs. And our leading receiver is back, Dexton Fields, 45 catch's for 456 yds. He caught 8 passes for 108 yds and a score against Nebraska.....just thought I would throw that in. Also our senior Tight End Derek Fine is back and I see him making hugs strides this season. And I love Hereford. He is a 6'3 220 pound receiver that is the second fastest on the team behind Jake Sharp. Look for Marcus Hereford to have a break out year at Wide receiver and kick returner. Our offensive line is lookin realy good as well. Leading the way is All Big 12 selection Anthony Collins. At 6'6, 330 pounds, he will be blocking for Meirs blind side at Left Tackle. The other tackle is 6'7 286 lbs Caesar Rodriguez. A four year starter and is very dependable. He is making the move from Left tackle to right. Than we add Left guard Chet Hartley, a 6'4 315 lbs, he was heavily recruited from Butler County by Bobby Bowden, but his late home visit didn't pay. We're happy to add him to our line and see it as a big upgrade. So to say the least we're excited about our offense to and we know we have gotten better. The problem is alot of fans are too busy just assuming we won't be that great, but you can't deny what Mangino is doing. I understand NU gets more 4 and 5 star recruits, but that can't always be a measuring stick. Anthony Webb was a 4 star recruit out of Texas and he started as a True Freshman for us last season on the opposite side of Talib. This year he lost his job to a 3 star guy from Butler County kendrick Harper. Stars are never the best method of how good they will be. (See Kyle Wright, QB for Miami for further reference). He was the #2 ranked QB in the country behind Chis Leak. Wright has done nothing at Miami and is about to lose his job to a 4 star QB. P.S- Aqib Talib was a 2 star recruit. Enough said. But hey, what do I know?
