  1. I for one am glad to be back to the forum! As a Jayhawk fan I was treated very harshly last year, but then made alot of friends on this forum at the conclusion of the KU VS NU game. It was a great game, and I must say the Huskers deserved to win the North. They were the best team. But I would be lying to say that I'm not looking forward to your trip to Lawrence this year! It sounds like the Huskers hauled in another outstanding recruiting class, while Mangino and my Hawks played grab ass in the offseason. I would love to hear more about them, and what to expect from the Huskers in 07. I think my Hawks will go 7-5, with a 3rd place finish. I think the North is up for grabs between you, and I hate to say this, Missery! Yuck! Anyway, drop me some lines Husker nation! -JGS30
  2. Thanks for the kind words mbhusker 13 and the rest of the husker fans. It was an awesome game. I ahve to say I wasn't giving Zac Taylor enough credit before the game. That guy can flat out play now!! He is so much better than last year! He showed great poise and confidence the whole night...even under pressure. He is the best QB in the Big 12 right now in my opinion. I'm telling you guys, with the North, just throw Vegas and the odds makers out the window. It all comes down to match-ups in this league. I really like the Huskers chances against ISU this weekend. Granted, Meyer will get his passing yards with Blythe and Flynn. But that ISU defense is in for a long night my friends. I like the Huskers to win by two, possibly 3 touchdowns this weekend. I'll go ahead and throw out a final for you guys. Nebraska 42 ISU 27 As for my Jayhawks, gosh. We should win, I mean, they should come out firing with a chip on their shoulder. Home field advantage will help. I have to go with my Hawks. But I need to research A&M some more before I throw out a prediction!!
  3. Well guys, it was a game to remember. NU and KU slugged it out for 60 plus. I knew the game would be close either way. I really don't feel very happy about telling everyone I told you so since KU DID lose the game. Nebraska is better than last year, and I think has what it takes to win the north. You guys have great fans, and the best stadium in the country. Thanks for the great debate all week long leading up to the game. It was alot of fun. I'm looking forward to nexts years match up. Good luck the rest of the year. You guys match up very well against ISU. I would use the same plan. Exploit that weak ISU secondary. The coach should take my advice. ISU has no defense. Later guys. Thanks again for welcoming me to your board. JGS
  4. I think alot of you Husker fans are still not giving KU the credit they deserve. The game that was played Saturday night was for the North championship. It's that simple. This isn't your older brothers KU football team. Yes, KU is a basketball school. But they have made HUGE strides in the last 5 years. So has NU. I just think you Husker fans need to show more patience. It was a great game. We probably would have had you in Lawrence. Two good teams went at it, and you guys were the better team. Great job. All of your fans showed great class and I had a great time. Lincoln is always a fun place to visit. Good luck in Basketball this year. You'll need it. As for football, See you all in Lawrence next year!! Rock Chalk Jayhawk.
  5. So you go to KU huh? Are you saying I can't support my football team now? I've been going to KU games since I was 6 years old. Back in the late 80's. Sorry I like more than just KU basketball. That's the problem with alot of students at KU. They only care about basketball. That trend is finally starting to change, and it has to for a program like KU to keep up with the Texas's and OU's in the Big 12. Sorry, I'm not a bandwagon loser like the majority of KSU fans who jumped on board the Snyder express, but still likes KU in basketball. That is just lame. I will continue to cheer for KU football proudly. Yes. We are playing for a 8 win season. But I remember just 5 years ago wanting to score a touchdown in just a game! We were that bad!!!! What Mangino has done is upgraded our talent and instilled a will to win in our program that we haven't had since the Mason era. Terry Allen completely destroyed our football program. Mangino has been picking up the pieces ever since. So I never just came out of the woodwork or whatever your trying to prove. And yes, I'm going to run my mouth a little. It's not every year that KU beats NU in football. I deserve that right. But you can't bash KU football from where it was 5 years ago to where it is today. It is truly a night and day difference. Maybe you should consider enrolling at Nebraska. Your probably one of those guys on campus that is a die hard KU basketball fan, but loves Nebraska football. Your points are valid, but quick question, what other time in your LIFETIME did KU beat Nebraska? Im glad you got to see that 1 time. And I cheer for KU Basketball but never would argue with anyone in their defense, the football team has a better chance of winning a big game than they do! Thats a joke but my allegiance is to Nebraska Football and thats it, the rest is just something to pass the time till football season starts again. I go to KU so i go to the football and basketball games occasionally. There are a lot of people that flip flop like you say and I laugh at those people and it sounds like you do as well (KSU being the majority of the crowd). Im TRUE NU and your TRUE KU, from your knowledge it sounds like you are, but what it comes down to is that A SEA OF RED will be your best player any day. Going in to Lincoln and winning is not an easy task and with the young players KU has, its flat out going to be a long day for them. The answer to your question is no. I was born in 80. I'm not debating that. But we won last year, and have improved against NU each year since Mangino arrived....so I think I have the right to be optimistic as well. If you read my post you will see I say KU can win and has a chance. All I want people to do on this forum is give KU some respect. Saying the score will be 42-7 is not showing respect, and is not going to happen. Husker nation needs to wake up and realize they are not getting the recruits they got in the 90's. That is all i'm saying. You are right, the sea of red will make it hard. But the games are not played by vegas or on paper. Anything can happen. Just last night BYU beat TCU (a 19 point favorite) at their stadium. Anything can happen. That is a true story but a crowd full of purple is only intimidating if you are homophobic (ie K-State, TCU, NWestern, ......) anyhow i will agree KU is becoming a better team as the years go but Nebraskas recruits are always going to be better than the Jayhawks recruits, If you were a recruit and you had a chance to start at both schools you know you would be heading straight to Lincoln (better fan base, better history, better chance at the pros, etc etc etc) Good Luck on Saturday, put your money on Nebraska to cover The Huskers will cover 23 points huh? I can't wait to see this!! (Heavy On the Sarcasm)

  8. Geeezzz. As a KU fan I really shouldn't. But I can't help it. This is hilarious. Mangino is so fat, he walked into an elevator and thought it was his mobile home. Mangino is so fat, he uses bed sheets to wipe his a$$.
  9. Lmao, I'm storing that one in my memory banks He will be a good player for my Jayhawks. 4 star recruit coming out of Texas. I was really happy to get him. He is a sneaky guy, with great foot work for a freshman. He deserves to start. Taylor will test him on Saturday. I just hope the rookie doesn't get to intimidated by the crowd. That stadium is one of the loudest I've been in. But, hey, I watch KU play ball. Our stadium doesn't necessarily rock! Well, it did last year against Missouri and Nebraska. But that's about it.
  10. That is an interesting stat. That is a concern. The funny thing is I think the reason we are ranked 76th is because of that damn Toledo game. They really snuck up on us. They also played ISU tough. What really concerns me is Mangino hasn't announced who will get the start this saturday. I really hope it's Barman. He has experience playing in Lincoln. Meir is more talented, and is a big running threat. But Barman seems to have more composure in his old age. Granted, I thunk NU has a better Defense than USF. I just feel more comfortable at this time with Adam in the game. I guess we'll see.
  11. EbyHusker, Where did you get that stat about KU being ranked 76th per game in sacks given up? Barman wasn't sacked last week, and Meir usually excapes the pocket before he gets hit. I'm just curious where you got it and if I can view it on the web.? I'll look, but so far I've had no luck finding it.
  12. Here are my keys to the game (and reasons KU has a chance to win). On offense: 1. Our running game matches up pretty well with your rush defense. It's not like you've consistently shut anyone down in that aspect of the game. We have the #15 rusher in the nation and he's yet to have a big game. 2. We've shown great balance in our offense and, if proper game-planned, NU will have an issue focusing on one area of our game to shut down. 3. Our receivers match up very well with your CBs and have truly started to assert themselves in this offense. So, on offense I just don't see NU completely shutting us down. I definitely see us scoring enough on Saturday night. On defense: 1. Our rush defense has done a fabulous job so far based on the new LB corps and they definitely have a more than legitimate shot at holding NU to some long yardage situations. 2. Our secondary is just beginning to show its true colors. You won't throw on Talib. Our other CB is talented but raw and its hard to say how he'll do. Our nickel package has been on the field alot this season since two of the players started the first two games. Our safeties are getting better with each game and we have some great depth and athleticism back there. Don't assume NU is going to torch our secondary or our LBs with your short/long passing game. 3. If history is any judge, I wouldn't be surprised to see KU throw quite a few rush/blitz packages at NU that we haven't seen this year. We did it last year in our game vs. TT (very successfully) and again vs. NU. One of our best pass rushers returns this week. I understand that NU isn't the same team as last year, but that doesn't really matter. We are much closer to, if not better, the team we put on the field last year. I'm certainly thinking we'll have our hands full and there's a good chance we lose. But, don't think we can't hang with your boys and don't think our boys/coaches will lay down for you. It will be a dogfight. One more thing, I can't wait to hit the bars in Lincoln. I had a blast two years ago!! Let the games begin!
  13. I'm a Jayhawk fan and I will be there without question. I have 11 tickets for the game. I have 3 available at this time. I plan to sell them when I get into town. If you see a Jayhawk fan selling tickets ask him if they are my screen name. If you find me I will give them to you half off. Good luck kids! Heck, it may not be that hard. The group I am going with my be the only KU fans going!!
  14. I realize whatever I say will not be agreed with in this forum, and that is fine. But I will say this. The game will not be a blow out. YOU Husker Fans and Vegas are the only ones that think that is the case, All of the logical fans, radio stations 610 Sports, 810 Sports, and 980 KMBZ, all say the game will be close throughout and the two teams are pretty much evenly matched. But whatever. Clearly I know nothing about college football. For the Yahoo that said NU blew us out to years agi...the score was 14-8. Nice try. The last three years KU has given up 21, 14, 15 points to NU the last 3 years.....so sorry if I disagree that NU is going to stomp us into the ground like one of your fans stated in an earlier post. Kansas has had alot of luck against your O-line the last 3 years and this year will be no different. Your line won't wear us down. I'm not sure why you guys believe you will be able to blow us out.....that is so ignorant. 810 sports interviewed the guy that write for NU football in the Omaha newspaper. He said you guys have HUGE concerns in your secondary and that KU will have sucess throwing the ball to their tall and athletic receivers. He says it's a mismatch. He said he thinks NU will have sucess throwing on KU, but he doesn't expect Lucky to have a big day or the other Husker backs. He said KU is to good against the run. Another thing to note. KU is not ranked 4th against the run in the big 12. They are ranked 2nd. Another thing of note. KU has not given up a 100 yard performance by 1 rusher in 17 games. Finally, your writter also acknowledged the fact that KU does have the same offensive line that dominated NU's defensive line in the second half. That worries him to. He thinks nebraska will win, but he is guessing by 12. He is very knowledgeable about his team and realistict expectations unlike alot of the clowns on this board. He also thought it was poor taste that one of your corners gauranteed victory against USC and got burned all night long. I actually watched the guy get beat several times....it was really funny. For the record this is my last post until after the game. I will let the players decide the outcome. I can go on and on battling you guys and get knowhere. It really doesn't matter. I like Nebraska's stadium. I'm excited about making the trip up there. I can't wait to see your new jumbo tron. I heard it was the biggest and best in the country. I like all of the Husker fans, they were really cool two years ago and showed alot of class. I expect the same for this trip. So I say to all of you. Good luck, and may the best team win. This icon is just hilarious. Stop by our board sometime. ljworld.com
  15. Huhh...that's funny. You consider South Florida a Mid-major? Last time I checked they played in the Big East Conference. They alos blew out Louisville last year. They have a great up and coming coach, and more team speeed than your little Pink shirt defense could ever muster up. They have two linebackers on that team that will be playing on Sunday one day. The Chiefs have a USF linebacker by the name of Kuwika Mitchell. He's pretty good last time I checked. For you to compare La Tech to USF is an absolute joke. South Florida would beat La. Tech by 4 Touchdowns this year. KU beat La Tech last year 35-14. La Tech is worse this year than last. They lost alot of players from last years team. I never once compared KU to USC you Jacka$$'s!! Keep telling yourself the Huskers can run the ball on KU. You'll be very disappointed on Saturday. You will have to pass to beat us. Write it down. Wilder, Allen, McClinton and Como will not let you get passed the line of scrimmage. And RIVERA, Mortenson and Washington will fill the gaps nicely. I really hope NU trys to run every damn play!! If they do that, it will be a mistake. If NU wants to win they will have to go to the air. And another thing...god, I could do this all day. Do you clowns remeber 2 years ago when the jayhawks came to Lincoln. I'm sure you all do. Nebraska won that game 14-8. NU was favored by 16 points from the Vegas Bookies. 16!!! 14-8 is a far cry from 16. And Adam Barman was the QB that day for KU. Do you rookies also remember how KU dropped not just one TD pass that day, but 2!!!!??? I'm sure you don't remember that. So I'm sorry if I feel more confident than I should, but I've heard all this before. You same Huskers two years ago were talking about how you were going to beat us by 50 two years ago.!!! I'm not buying into the BS this year. KU will not be intimidated by an overrated Husker squad. I hope we start Barman...he has played in Lincoln before. I will be there, along with 8 other KU fans cheering us onto victory. I can't wait. I will be wearing blue.

  17. Yeah! You guys are awesome!!! Troy is a true challenge! Way to go NU!! "HEAVY ON THE SARCASM"
  18. WOW Kid. You got it all figured out huh? Run the ball. That's funny. Considering KU hasn't given up a 100 yard rusher in their last nine contest. Nice try though. KU will plug up the run and force Taylor to go to the air. He'll have some sucess, but it will be short lived due to his tendancy to make mistakes. I'm guessing 3 picks if Callahan plays to win. 1 pick if he folds up the show and plays conservative like he did @USC. These little Icons are cracking me up! I'm starting to like this board, even though it doesn't appear to like me. KU is Hated by many, respected by all. -Max
  19. You also did what you were supposed to do against USC. Fold like a little girl.
  20. Your right Kid, Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda. Your absolutely right. But we will not get blown out this weekend. That is just an ignorant statement. Please tell me how nebraska will accomplish this? What game plan would you use against KU, since you clearly know NU will blow us out?? Please...do tell...
  21. This is what drives me nuts!! How can you get on here and say that? Where is the logic behind it? Nebraksa is gonna win by 4 touchdowns!!!! LOL. What, is Nebraska going to give Ohio State their unifroms?? Please!!! There is no way NU will blow out KU. I gaurantee it!! WOW!! I have really awoken the Pink Shirts!!! This is great!! News Flash- THE 90's ARE OVER!!! Stop livin in the past!! Ands for the poster calling me out about KU only scoring 13 against USF. Well, clearly you didn't watch the game....and I don't blame you, the last thing I want to do is watch Nebraska play another team. But for your info KU should of had 27 points in that game. KU fumbled a touchdown pass on the USF 1 yard. They recovered it in the endzone for a touchdown. The KU had a long run by Cornish called back because of a personal foul. So actually the score should have been 27-7. Kind of like how the USC VS Nebraska score should have been 35-10, but then they downed it at the Nebraska 7 at the end of the game. Good thing Pete Carrol shows good sportsmanship. And another than. That was pretty chicken sh!t what your coach CallaWTF did, completely shutting down his offense against USC, and playing not to get blown out!! That was the biggest load of crap I have ever seen. I can't wait to watch this disaster on Saturday. This board will be calling for Callahans head next week!! 40-15 Nough Said.
  22. Actually, now that you mention it. Our offensive line played very well against USF. Our second string QB Adam Barman wasn't touched the whole night. He completed 25 of 35 attempts, for 273 yards. Good performance in my books. 40-15. Nough Said.
  23. Yeah, Taylor put up his numbers against some true Juggarnauts!! Troy, Nicholls State, and La Tech?? LOL 40-15. Nough Said.
  24. As for my prediction: Nebraska and their arragant fans over look us for the second year in a row. KU 24 NU 17 Rock Chalk Jayhawk!! 40-15 Nough Said.
  25. Let me help you rookies out. I am the biggest KU Fan you will ever meet. Ahhhh...i'm so happy to have found your litttle message board!! Let's get some things straight. 1. That corner that you speak of getting suspended is Aqib Talib (Preseason All-Big 12) He is back now and running shop! He will completely shut down the left side of the field. As for the other corner, his name is Anthony Webb. He is a 4 Star corner from the great state of Texas. A true freshman I might add. If Taylor is smart, which we all know he isn't, he should throw the ball his way. But i'm confident that Webb is good enough to hold his own. Jerome Kemp is back at SS. No worries there. As for the comment about KU's offensive line getting owned...LOL. We have the same offensive line as last year!! They are all back...BIGGER, and Faster...and even better than a year ago!! Plus, I'm sure you all remember what Jon Cornish did to you clowns in Lawrence last year!!! 140 yards!! LOL. Your pink shirts are stopping Nobody!!! The KU linebackers are gone...yes, that is true. But we replaced talent with speed. The young backers will hold there own. NU will not be able to run the ball. Write it down. 40-15. Enough Said.
