Since we are talking about ex-Huskers as returning coaches I'll throw this one out. I'd much rather see Gill back than Frost. Mr. Frost fairly or not never struck me as the sharpest knife in the drawer. Gill on the other hand always did and still does. I heard an interview with him on Big Sports 590 last week and I was even more impressed with the man and the coach. It wouldn't break my heart to see him back here one day. He still has the Osborn mentality that his role as head coach is much larger than just football. Granted the Osborne years are over, as they should be. There is always a time to move on but many of the philosphies of TO were instrumental in making the program what it was. That was a program that never really had any issues with the NCAA, always had a reputation for being honest and reputable and for helping young men play above their physical talents and becoming men while doing so. Not a bad legacy IMO I totally agree. When I was typing I was thinking that Gill has a better shot to be a Husker coach. He finally got his shot as a head coach w/ Buffalo. He just needs to post some wins there and get the hell out and move on to a better school.
