  1. For what it is worth, NU has NOT had a 4 or 5 star recruit sign and come to campus since before Collier. Miles hasn't changed that, at least not yet.

Likewise, NU's BB program hasn't produced an NBA player since the days of Danny Nee.

To win NCAA tournament games, you need NBA bound talent.

and how many tournament wins did that nba bound talent nee had get nebraska? it takes more than just talent alone to make the dance and win. and given what miles did with this past year's team, he has them going in the right direction.

  2. What it means is that the years we had games where the players gave up and resulted in a blowout, some mathematical formula says we shouldn't have won many games.

I wont say they gave up. The guys play hard. The Pelini era has just contained some sort of mental block that once a few things go against us, things seem to spiral out of control. If anything, the 2012 season should be more than enough evidence to debunk any kind of "quit" or "give up" theory. Those ideas are just a copout way of trying to explain what happened instead of trying to identify the real issues.

the spiraling out of control could be from the players trying to do too much and not playing within themselves.

  3. Kansas isn't available because the Big XII has a GOR. Again, SEC beaks GOR, and it's the Wild West for everyone in expansion--if no one breaks the GOR, then we're locked into the current conferences for a while.

if you are going to take a program without football you might as well take the other school in kansas that doesnt have a GOR.

Poke fun all you want, but remember that the Kansas football program has been to a BCS bowl more recently than we have. :lame And their basketball program is one of the best in the nation overall.

Hindsight being 20/20...I suppose it's a good thing Kansas didn't jump to the Big East back in 2009 when the Big XII was imploding, eh?

erm that comment was made from the viewpoint of a wichita st shocker fan. now do i have to explain to you that WSU doesnt have a football team? sorry for interjecting a little humor into the thread. i'll let the serious folk get back to their serious discussion.

  5. True, I mentioned in a status update discussion that he should have 2 left. But someone else said since he redshirted already that his sit out year will count against his eligibility, meaning he would only have 1 year to play. But I dont know for sure myself.

if he transfers to another fbs school he will sit one year then can play the second. if he transfers down to fcs or lower he gets to play both.

  6. His offer list is SoSo, his film is SoSo, and his measurables are SoSo. I'm SoSo on this kid. I guess I wouldn't have an opinion either way wherever he decides to go! Sooooooo........! :thumbs

I can't believe it went to the 10th post before someone made a soso pun.

wait until he commits somewhere, then it will be bo only recruits "soso" guys or he cant recruit "soso" guys.

  7. I'm pretty sure that's what Arizona fans thought too when they first got Stoops, and we all know how that worked out!

    Different Stoops, isn't it?

Yea, my bad, I think Mark was the DC and the other Stoops (who's name escapes me right now) was the HC. I now feel like a total ass :hmmph

mike mark they both begin with "m".

what exactly is your point considering the recruiting sites havent finished ranking kids yet?

that link will help you find a recruit whose name was misspelled. kind of odd you couldnt find any info on him since he has a profile already.

  9. ... because I'm cool finagling a Med Red for Stanton SEC-style.

Oh man, Tommy as a Sophomore-Junior-Senior and then Stanton as a Junior-Senior. We'd be set until 2019!

Enough time for Bubba Starling to fizzle out of baseball and finally get to Lincoln to suit up, eh?

he'll be out of eligibility by then. clock starts ticking after high school now.

  10. Rex in Denver in John Fox's scheme. Oh Lord look out. The perfect fit for a workhorse back like Rex.

Was thinking the same thing but it appears that they will sign Mendenhall so they might not be in the market for a RB.

they'll still need a rb for the 15 or 16 games mendenhall will miss due to injury.

  11. I didn't read it...just posting the link.

seriously? it would be helpful to know if the link is to premium content only members can see. it would also be helpful when people post to provide insight into the recruitment of a kid. links to recruiting sites are nice but not all of us want to click on 6 million links.

  12. Ohhhhhhhhhh, my bad I put a "s" on the end of it. Is that all you have done is correct 91 posts of other users in a 7 year period?

given there is over 100 players on the football team and i really didnt feel like looking over it, i thought i'd ask for clarification.

and sorry for not being a post whore like others.

  13. There is reason we rode him to death. If we have multiple capable backs then we would not have rode him to death. Braylon got the carries he deserved. He didn't like it so he quit. Coaches gave him an opportunity at defense last spring and maybe play some wr this year. They saw his talent but it was not enough to be a major player at running back. I wish the kid well.

then promptly switched him back to rb after green left. given only a spring isnt really getting a shot at a new position.

  14. When I first heard about Braylon transferring, I was saddened, and thought he had a really good chance to push to the #1 spot, or get a very good amount of carries. Now with it being two months since it has been released, I wish him the best, and I could care less to see him in a Nebraska jersey. You decided to transfer because you didn't want to fight for your role and you have your release papers signed now, the only thing left to do is leave. Best of luck to you Braylon. You gave Cross, Frazier, Adams and Newby that opportunity to shine, and they can all thank you for that.

We have 4 RB's behind Ameer. I don't think Braylon is that big of a loss, as far as depth. With a mixture of Janovich, it makes it even better. This just shines a light to the Freshman coming in, that they could have even more of an impact earlier on, than they initially expected. The RB position isn't exactly a position where you can't start out a Freshman, so experience is not what I am worried about. As long as Frazier, Adams and Newby can secure the ball, give it to them.

Abdullah will come out fine and stronger than ever. He will have plenty of time to rest and heal, unlike Burkhead did. He had the pressure to need to play, because of his team and it being his Senior year. If Rex's injury would have happened during the off season, we would have seen him at 100%, like he is now. Best of luck to Abdullah to healing! GO BIG RED!

    who is adams?

  15. NOTE: THE FOLLOWING INFO. HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED AS FAR AS I KNOW. What I seen a couple weeks ago is unfounded rumor with no foundation I'm sure... I can't even remember where I seen it, but the article speculated that Heard was most likely heading to a school in Texas? No clue why a Texas school but I want to say either TCU or UTEP? I almost certain it said TCU, but why or how he became interested in either of these schools, or any school in Texas is beyond me other than due to a personal relationship he could have built with someone on the staff or team? I'm sure this in nothing more than wild speculation

I quit reading after the word 'seen'

Thus the heavy disclaimer I made first and foremost in the post! Every post in here has been nothing more than speculation at best, and I figured I'd throw in the claim I read online about Heard going to a Texas school. I'm sure it's 100% BS but on the 1% off chance that it isn't, I posted it? :hmmph

    grammar smack ftw

  16. I bet those windows are over 10 feet tall, they just look really small in the pic.

    You are correct, sir.

You can kinda get an impression of the size of those windows by comparing the worker whose picture I took a month ago in THIS POST.

There are windows on the south side where a single pane is missing, randomly. I'm not going to believe a single pane randomly missing 100 feet in the air is used to move in equipment. Sorry.

glass could have been broken in delivery. depending on the type of glass, they are not easily replaced. windows are also used to throw trash out. they'll set up a chute right to the trash dumpster. they will also be used for the intake on their propane heaters. those are just more reasons as to why there might not be any glass in the windows.
