  1. When you get blown out on national TV you deserve backlash from the fans and media. Bo has every right to be critiqued as does Barnstache. Maybe we don't get the right oline commits all the time because Barney sucks? Why does it have to be the fans fault? If Auburn who didn't win a SEC game all year can pull in 5 stars why is it my fault Bo can't?

Don't blame fans that critique the coaching staff for the staffs deficiencies on the field and the recruiting trail.

I guess I could take your approach and close my eyes and wish really hard and tap my toes together and things will be ok.

maybe because auburn is in a rich fertile recruiting ground. that couldnt be it, our coaches just suck at recruiting.

as for the closing the eyes approach, how exactly has your bitching about what you perceive as deficient been working? and just because people arent 100% negatively critical of the staff doesnt mean they dont acknowledge problems. they can just see the forest for the trees.

  2. How did our DT's perform this season? Western Kentucky and Texas San Antonio also return linemen with FBS experience. Does that mean they are solid? Hooks and Russell were a solid upgrade in the trenches for us. No reason to try to sugarcoat it.

how do you know hooks and russell are solid upgrades? how many snaps in FBS competition have they taken, combined?

we also didnt have our full contingent of dt's available this year. they still have bowl practices, spring practice and off season workouts to get better, and healthy. no reason to cry over spilt milk.

  3. their arrival also coincided with another assistant's leaving.

Does this mean that the assistant leaving made the unit perform better?

Or was it the time spent by Garrison and Stai teaching technique and extending wisdom gleaned from their own personal experience?

It's a real question, not trying to sneer at you. I have to say, in this case, I'm leaning towards the added insight and coaching being substantially relevant in the improvement. It's going to be a hard sell to convince me this was a purely an addition by subtraction situation. Hard, but not impossible. Make the case. If you want. Who really gives a sh#t? I want to win big games. I'm still pissed about Wisco, full disclosure.

And for both you and the Dude: Did you see how f'ing fast the Badger D got in the backfield on Martinez's miracle TD? It was like *that*. Which is why the 8th in the nation thing doesn't satisfy me in terms of representing proof of the line's production, and especially Cotton's ability as an o-line coach.

I'll say it even though anyone who has read my posts know this is intrinsic in most any view I offer, but these are my opinions. They are not the infallible products of an omniscient sentience. So...feel free to tell me why you disagree. I see arguments for Cotton. He isn't a disaster.

I think we can do a lot better.

nope. not saying it was addition by subtraction. just saying there was more to the improvement than just adding garrison and stai.

  4. That I absolutely do agree with. And that improvement seemed to correlate directly with the arrival of Stai and Garrison to help with the position. Coincidence? Possibly. (Not sarcastic, it IS potentially coincidental.)

No question the line improved from the '09 constant false start/holding nightmares. I'm inclined to give Garrison and Stai a significant portion of the credit for that. Just my opinion, though. (Obviously.)

their arrival also coincided with another assistant's leaving.

  5. What teams got completely embarrassed on national television last weekend? You don't think this sticks in kids heads? Urban and Saban will love nothing more than to make sure any guys we share on the recruiting front hear about it over and over again.

He was a very heavy NU lean and was told several times it would be coming very soon on regards to him pulling the trigger. Then we get abused on television and he wants to visit Bama again aka who nebraska used to be.

regardless of the outcome of the game if he was sure that NU was where he wanted to go he would have verballed. the only thing that game did was give him cover to visit other schools.

  6. Since everyone likes to make such a big deal out of this fact....

    "Tonight we're going to

    party like it's 1999!"

Cool slogan, but I don't really like the idea of reminding the national audience that we haven't won a conference title since 1999.

even though the announcers will do it ad nauseum through the game?

  7. KSU football IS Snyder. They didn't have a modern era tradition of success before him and their success fell off quickly when he left the first time. You never know what the future will bring, but I don't really see a reason to think KSU will be much of a power in the post-Snyder era. Their best bet may be to promote from within and at least maintain as much continuity as possible following Snyder's inevitable retirement.

or hire one of his former assistants that know the challeges presented at KSU.but even then they wont be remotely close to as successful as they are with snyder.

  8.

According to the story behind this, the reason for the silence/delayed announcment is that Cameron was told on his visit that we are full and did not have room for him on scholly. However, his family situation makes it possible for him to come without a scholly on the table.

    We're full?

    At his position, sort of.

I believe we are still holding a spot for Kuli, but he could play either DE or DT. We are done with straight DE's.

so they are only recruiting gay DE's now? (sorry couldnt resist.)

  9. I read about his partying from some "supposed" ASU students on the ESPN boards, of course can't confirm or deny but allegedly he liked the snow while at ASU.

i lived in the phoenix area for 4 years and it never snowed there once. maybe that is why he decided to leave, because Lincoln gets a lot more snow each year than Tempe does

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

it snowed here this past winter.

and desert heat doesnt dissipate at night. it will be over 100 at 10 at night at times.

  10. I think it means that since Keller is a little older than Ganz, he should receive more SS later in his life.

No it means that Ganz will have to give some of his paycheck from Burger king to SS!

so college education from the university of nebraska-lincoln is only worth a job at burger king? could you enlighten us on which position he will be working while at BK? i am hoping he makes it to at least fry cook.

think before you type. he plays for the team you supposedly cheer for.

  11. With Phoenix growing as fast as if is, we need to get into that market and stay there

then they need to get in on the las vegas area. vegas has been the fastest growing city in like 5 out of the last 6 years with phoenix taking the spot this year. and dont be mislead about the population growth, a lot of it is also retirement aged people with no kids.

  12. So who's lying? Other people have described the situation differently.

While some details may differ, I have yet to hear the side of the story that says Mo did nothing wrong.

his lawyer probably has told him to be quiet and is also silencing the witnesses that back mo's side.

  13. I did not know him and being from Hastings I wish I had. God bless him his family, friends and fellow soldiers.

I second that. I am from Hastings also and I have heard nothing but great things about him.

Huskernumerouno what school are you from and what year did you graduate? I am from Hastings High in 1992.

just have to chime in here, HHS 93.

and that is one thing i miss about hastings. almost everyone knows everyone and they show up for each other.

  14. This part is sort of bothersome:

    ***SNIP***

Over the weekend, the Rams held a rookie minicamp, and Carriker was a revelation to coaches. What the Rams love about Carriker is how coachable he is.

    ***SNIP***

How the hell would any team not know that about someone they were considering drafting that high? We hear all the time how teams speak to coaches, family members, friends, grade school teachers. I would think that Carriker's work ethic and acceptance of coaching would be one thing that wouldn't surpise them...

take it in conjunction with what they said about the guy they had last year and you can see why its a revelation to them. unfortunately your predecessors affect the way you are perceived. good or bad.

  15. taylor is a different kinda of quarterback? drop the ball i put in your numbers? nah, it's okay... it happens. i'm sure you wanted, but it just wasn't meant to be, i guess.

i remember reading about taylor that while he didnt get in the receivers face he let them know about their drops, wouldnt throw to them for a while. there are different ways to make a point.
