  1. Hey formerfan, are you a fan of USC, OU, or Auburn now? Not a personal attack, but since your handle is formerfan, and you liked NU when they were dominant, who are you currentfan of now?
  2. I like those 6, but I think I would like to put Adam Meyers-White, BJ Vickers and Ndamukong Suh in there somewhere. Meyers-White seems really smooth and suited to play in a year or two at safety, and Vickers would help immediately at receiver. And Suh just looks like an absolute monster! Out of those 9, give me 4 or 5 and I'd be thrilled. What a class we have coming in!
  3. Teams will always have players leave for 1 reason or another. TO had it happen, Solich did too, and Callahan will have more in the future I'm sure. When these kids that were all-world in H.S. come in and don't sniff the top of the depth chart, they will all respond differently. I would rather have kids that bust their butts trying to get better than sissy quitters anyday. I don't care if Lucky is a 5* recruit, if he comes in and gets beat out by Ross and wants to leave, to hell with him. Same goes for any other players feeling 'jilted' right now.
  4. They also had 9 wins each year until Frank came along. When he finally got done with TO's players he only won 7 games. Frank probably would have only won 3-4 this year after his only QB Daily got hurt running the option and the wrestler came in to back him up.
  5. Let him go, we have players coming in that probably would have gotten playing time over him anyway. I'd rather have Boateng and Franklin lining up next year than Pilkington and Birkel anyway.
  6. He didn't do anything spectacular here to deserve better. His offensive mind is what I think is holding him back; nobody in college football wants to run the offense that he knows so well. He didn't prove he could recruit very well at NU. And everybody sees what he did as taking a storied, dominant program and letting them become mediocre. You think if TO would have given 5 more years of his life to the program we would have had Jamaal Lord and Josh Davis starting in the backfield, EVER? Absolutely not.
  7. Octavien should be starting on one end, Moore on the other, and depending on how good Dillard is, he could be starting in the middle very soon. Tom Lemming said Dillard should be an All-American here at Nebraska in a couple of years. Also compared Marlon Lucky to Marshall Faulk because he can do it all. I like how this class is rounding out!
  8. I guarantee Lord would have never ran out of bounds trying to pick up yards like Dailey. He was truly one of the toughest NU QB's recently, up there with Scott Frost. He probably would have been a hell of a safety for the Big Red, and I hope he does make it in the NFL.
  9. BYU would be foolish not to offer Norm Chow whatever he wanted to come to Provo. He does wonders with quarterbacks.
  10. Taylor's stats from 10 games this season: 173/274 (63%), 27 TD, 8 INT, 2682 yards. Played in arguably the toughest JUCO league in the nation. Led his team to the JUCO nat'l championship game. I think since he'll be here in the spring, he'll learn the offense a bit quicker than HB, and we'll have a really good fall competition where he'll eventually be the game 1 starter. Just having some competition will be really be beneficial to all the QB's.
  11. I think top to bottom the NU team of 95 was the best to ever step foot on the field. There were no weaknesses on that team. They destroyed everybody they went up against. Here's a link to read more about them. http://sharkfeet.tripod.com/oddsends/1995_Huskers.htm
  12. Recruiting is about the only thing to be excited about around here right now. We have a very strong class coming in, and I heard we just added a JUCO QB that's originally from Norman, OK today. Recruiting is what really what led to Frank's dismissal. I wish Frank the best, but as you can see by the amount of attention he's getting nationwide for his coaching services, NU did the right thing.
  13. Friend of mine just called me, said he's pretty sure Zac Taylor will soon commit to NU.
  14. Also, there are so many deviations of the WCO, we have to wait and see what this coaching staff does with the players they want. And they're getting almost all of the players they want, so it'll be interesting. I don't like the way Solich was fired either, but since I am a fan of the program, I'll give this current staff time. I believe we'll be back in the upper tier in a couple of years. Hey LSU, what happened to Justin Vincent this year? He was phenomenal last year.
  15. Thankfully this is all over. I'm so tired of listening to everyone say how stupid our AD is and how much they want Solich back. Callahan is big time, and NU did bag the white elephant by bringing him in. Hopefully the guy is as good of a recruiter as everyone says he is. The best thing we can do in Husker Nation is get behind this guy and support him and hopefully in a few years we'll be playing on January 4th once again! GO BIG RED!!!!!
