  1. This is ridiculous, coaches have no right to nose around with 13 year old kids. Pay attention, maybe send a card congratulating the kid on a good game . Maybe that is all that they did do and the Kid called and said hey I’m planning on coming to USC. Still seem wrong to me.

  2. LP was certainly a in scum bag territory but he was a kid/young adult and after he left the program was intact. However when a Millionare Adult is hired and quickly takes the program to the point where top tier coaches wont come to UNL so we settle for Callahn and watch the decline of the entire program. (Still it is a tough call but when the adults trash a program and leave it irritates me. I wonder what kind of mess USC will be left in after the NCAA gets done and the old coach is up in Seattle with the Seahawks but this is for a different thread)

  3. I attended the OSU Arizona game this year and Corvallis is a good college town and game day is good but still not on the same planet as lincoln on Game day.

If OWA goes to OSU it will be to stay clost to home, Corvallis is smaller than Lincoln so the Over all College Town theme is pretty good but I dont thing\k OWA is going to use that as his main criteria.

By the way my guess from last weekend is 2600 so I hope I'm close.

  4. I'm planning to attend (Try to go to one game a year), after moving from Minnesota to Oregon this will be an easy on to get to.

I have attended big losses for the Annual trek to a Gami in Lincoln the last few years so I how Nebraska puts on a great show in Seattle. I love the Environment in Lincoln but being able to Drive a few hours North to see a game will be great.

  5. Just putting it out there.

I hate Missouri and their stupid faces!

I know we've probably discussed this, but I still don't understand some people's desire to beat Missouri so badly. They are just another conference team that we beat up on for decades who have had the upper hand on us lately. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Nebraska beat them, but right now I see them as no more a threat to us than Texas Tech, Kansas, or even Colorado. We're Nebraska. Let's set our sights high and focus on beating up on Virginia Tech and Oklahoma (in addition to the other teams on our schedule!)

I agree with the big picture but a Missouri Beat down would be at great ........ I will say that it is just one game and will not make the season but munching on tiger would make for a great meal and would hold me over till the next Saturday even if the meat is Tuff Tiger.

  6. I think the big screen in Dallas adds a new twist to the game, keep it and lets see how it does. 2 points if you hit it.

I say 2 points for the other team but unlike a safety you get the ball back ....... I'd elaborate but that would take this idea from silly to insane.

  7. Love the thread ....... Time for an un-apologetic ode to dominance.

Anything less than a prediction of an undefeated season would be wrong.

It will be a dominate defense combined with a reloaded offense. Our preseason

injuries and releases will simply give other a chance to shine.

  8. I will never vote against Chili ...........

As for SUH if hope for impact more than stats. If his stats drop I hope it is due to double teams and the fact that opposing offenses will do all they can to avoid the SUHMANATOR.

That said I believe that great players get the stats no matter what the opposition does.

By the way SUHMANATOR was not picked up by my MSWORD spell check so I declare it a real word.

  9. Whatcha need is a "Gear for Clunkers" deal. Turn in any Husker gear from the coach-whose-name-is-not-to-be-mentioned era and get $4.50 towards a leaner, meaner Bo Pelini model.

Great Idea, tell me how to turn in my old USC vs NE stubs ........

  10. This could go either way if the #2 is Green does that mean he is that good or is the Depth that weak? I am a Watson fan so I figure that Green is that good. I hope we are able to leave Green on the Bench this year and start his game time. My logic is that if Green saves a Redshirt than we have a great year because Zac succeeds and Green starts seeing his time next year. If we see Green than I think we will be bummed out at the circumstances that lead upto his appearance. What happens after such an appearance may be cool but I hope we don't have to find out.

  11. Listened to an interview with Phil Steele the other day and he mentioned the turnover margin as an area that he has identified as a key to Nebraska improving next year.

I guess that is a no brainer but his stats were more targeted on the fact that NE was in the double digit negative range and has room for major improvement.

  12. Let us know what you think on a scale of 1-10.

To me reload means that the team just keeps going at a high level year after year regardless of who the next guy in line is behind the seniors.

Shawn Watson is going into his fourth year, and as I sit here sipping my Husker Kool-Aid I ask, does the Offense Qualify as a group that can be said to reload and not rebuild?

On a scale of 1-10 I give the offense a 7 on my reload scale.

Why a 7: Based on the Stats below and my definition above the offense is doing a good job and improving each year even without Multi-year QB starters. Watson has shown that his side of the ball is doing a good job developing younger players so they can step in when needed. I think this will be the case again this year with Zac Lee and his receiving corp.

Why not a 8,9 or 10: Not enough years have passed to really say reload and although the offense has had good success I want to see them perform better in the big time games.

Summary: I can’t wait for the season to start, I think this offense has huge potential and that it will not take a step back even with a new QB. I’m confident in Watson and I think anyone who expects his offense to falter is simply not giving him enough credit.

Combine my rebuild factor with what I’m sure will be a much improved defense and I expect great things this year.

I picked the points per/game stat because I figure that when the game is over the only thing that matters is what the score board shows.

    Points/game

    2008 17th 35.4 points Joe Ganz

2007 29th 33.4 points Sam Keller …….. Joe Ganz (Watson to OC)

2006 18th 30 points Zac Taylor (Watson TE Coach and Recruiting Cord.)

2005 67th 24.7 points Zac Taylor (Pre Watson)
