  1. I haven't used Tineye in like, forever. I forgot it even exists. Google image search is where it's at.

I got that childhood pic off the Twitter that the kids use these days. I couldn't even tell you whose timeline I found it on.

Can you do a reverse image search with Google?

Yeah, if you have chrome and right click on a picture you can select it right from the drop down menu. Or just go to the google home page, click the images tab and select the camera icon in the search bar.

  2.

Could you imagine the 90's without the Peters bros. and Wistrom throwing the bones? You look for a big play to change the tone of the game, to get players motivated, to bring the fire, then you criticize and penalize them for celebrating it? Then you wonder why the sidelines are dead, why the players play flat... that's what they are being coached to do. Approach the game businesslike, take all emotion out.

The huskers are allowed to throw the bones and do it all the time. It's only a celebration penalty if another team does it while playing us or we direct it towards an opposing player or their bench.

My question has been "how has Wisconsin done it?" Nebraska's tradition is far superior to Wisconsin, yet Wisconsin > Nebraska recently.

That's my thought also, Even Michigan and Ohio State have no major advantages over Nebraska as far as recruiting is concerned. Pelini has even had some decent class that he's done nothing with. Our athletic budget is massive, we can bid with anyone out there if the only factor is money.

  4. I am sickened by the way we call players out, and that included this board. I am not so disturbed by the way Pelini is talked about. If you were a recruit and happened to peruse this board trying to make the biggest decision of your life, what would you think?

Every school as a message board and they all do the same things. Shaggy Bevo will crucify players yet that doesn't seem to effect their recruiting at all.

  5. I went to the game and a major issue are the greeks. Most sorority girls are only there to be seen and leave as soon as they can, frat guys are usually more interested in drinking especially for a game like this. As soon as the homecoming king/queen were announced it was like a stampede of students leaving and no one really gives a crap about the homecoming king/queen except greeks...

  6. why was the ucla game the breaking point for so many fans? not the first time we have been blown out, and some could argue this was not even close to the worst.

    >that's the point, people are getting sick of being blown out

by all accounts, ucla is a pretty good team and we are young.

    >UCLA is just as young, and we had one of the most experienced offenses in the nation who were shut down by a mid tier D

my guess would be it is because of how we lost. we were up 21-3 and should have easily won. we could have just ran the ball and played base defense and won soundly.

    >That was a major factor

we are tired of seeing the collapses, but bo also knows how to give us just enough hope to make us believe things are fixed. that is what makes it so rough. also, the offense failed, and that was supposed to be the saving grace of our team.

however, i really started this post because zoogies alluded to this topic and i wanted to hear his thoughts.

finally, the ucla loss hurt and is demoralizing, but i still think bo could be out guy. we have talent, now we need time.

    >it's year 6 and we could have our worst team yet, too early to say if we do but that is why this game has become a breaking point for many.

  7. It was pretty loud until the team gave up. It was probably loudest after we went down 24-21 and everyone realized the importance of staying close. After that everyone knew it was over.

  8. I don't know, the Mizzou game in '10(?) or the OU game in '09 we completely dominated the entirety of both games and we were underdogs in both. Now I know Pinkel isn't a very good measuring stick, but Bo completely out coached Stoops that night.

Otherwise, no we haven't beaten many teams that were better than us. That's exactly why they were better than us.

No way Missouri counts because we all know they've always been a fraud as a "top" program, so we are left with one win against one of Bob Stoops' worst teams in his career, four years ago.

Definitely don't think Missery was ever a top program...............more of a blip on the radar for a second and then they were gone. I further agree that OU team was not very good and saying that we have one win against one of Bob Stoops worst teams 4 years ago to hang our hat on is.......................very, very sad!

We weren't discussing programs that were better than us. You said teams, and Missouri was #6 when they came to Lincoln. We made them look like a MAC team. I'm not hanging my hat on the win either. I'm just saying he has shown the ability to out coach someone in-game. He is just very very inconsistent.

We also beat Oklahoma State in a shootout that year who was way better than Missouri. Everything changed after that A&M game though.

  9. It's simple, in Nebraska we are relevant elsewhere no one even thinks twice about us. I live in Michigan and can tell you Nebraska is seen on the same level as Illinois, Iowa. and Minnesota. Nobody here has taken us seriously since the 90s. When I tell people I am a husker fan I always get the same reaction: a slight snicker a questioning look, and then typically they walk away. Not even worthy of a good spirited insult, or jab about the blowouts. We just don't matter. Sorry, it is reality. Us making the ccg last year is seen more as a product of Michigan having a down year. They don't even want to argue about 97 anymore.

    That's cause 1997 was 16 years ago.

  10. knapp, some people just don't share the same logic that you have.

To get an experienced coaching staff, you're going to have to start off somewhere. We decided to start off by hiring green coordinators, who will obviously go through some growing pains. But the reward in the end is usually worth it. There's something to be said about having chemistry on your coaching staff.

We have talent coming to the LB and DL next year. Our secondary is going to be fine, not many QBs are going to tear us apart like Murray did. Offensively we lose Burkhead, and put in Abdullah, who already proved how valuable he is. Martinez showed how committed he is to the program and his career when he worked on his passing mechanics in the offseason. He's probably going to do more of the same this offseason. He also fought every play today, and that attitude is infectious. Our WRs will be stronger than ever, and our offensive line, IMO, made a big stride in their blocking game. Three of them return to the trenches next year.

The biggest question going into the offseason will be what can be done to limit the turnovers? Notice we didn't fumble a punt today, which was a relief. Taylor also didn't fumble. The other question will be changes to the defensive line.

Guys, we have a very easy schedule next season, in comparison to this season. We have 8 home games. Our toughest trip will be to Ann Arbor. Things are shaping up to be special next year, and a hard fought like this could be the spark to ignite the process.

First it's nice to know that we "need" an very easy schedule to even think of having a special season. Secondly if Bo still finds a way to lose 4 games next year, how will people in thier right mind be able to defend him? He produced the worst defense in school history this year, yes even worse than the 2007 team.

They'll just say "well he won 10 games so whatever"

  11. 4 losses like always. probably lose to Michigan, Penn State, whoever we play in the Championship (if we make it) and the bowel game. You can call me a downer if you want but until Pelini proves that he can do any better I'm not going to bank on it.

  12. I'm surprised nobody's talking about Georgia coming out flat. I'm not a betting man, but we've got something to prove after last night's fiasco and Georgia could not be less excited for this game. We'll (God willing) come out swinging to show the world that last night was a fluke, while they're in a very similar situation as we were when we played Washington in the Holiday Bowl a couple years back. I'm still a long way from calling for the upset, but I think this game will be a lot closer then most people expect.

They could also come out like we did in the Holiday bowl 2009 and just go to town.

  13. Shatel is THEE worst sports writer with the World Herald.

    HEY SHATEL,

THERE IS A REASON THE OMAHA WORLD HERALD IS BANKRUPT. BECAUSE NOBODY WANTS TO BUY SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR THE sh#t YOU WRITE BECAUSE I'VE SEEN SWEAT SOCKS WRITE BETTER ARTICLES.

WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE ARTICLE?

Not necessarily the article, rather his entire body of work.

You can attack Shatel all you want, nothing he said in this article is false.
