Yeah it did look like that. Is it just me or can you tell callahan isn't from nebraska and doesn't bleed Nebraska. When Osborne or Solich would lose a game, they would be very down and upset. On there show the next day you could really tell that. Callahan after a lose or playing crappy is laughing and all this and that. I dunno, I'm not sold on him at all. Eh, I don't know. He is a different kinda guy. We are very used to Nebraska guys here. Osbourne never did show much emotion. That kinda stuff doesn't really get to me. After the way the game went Saturday, I would have been happy we won too. As a fan, as a coach, and as a player, I don't know how you could be happy about that ku game. Win or not. Like everyone said last year. It's not if you won or if you lost it's how solich was winning and losing. Well the same applies with callahan right. Solich was at the helm or part of the program at Nebraska for many many years. Callahan has been there for 4 games. How can you hold them to the same light? I am not happy about the performance, I said I was happy we WON. There is no "Quality of Win" variable in the big 12 so a W is still a W. I agree that a W is a W. But we cannot continue to play this way on offense and expect the same result. I never said we could.
  4. Great. Can't wait for you to come up with more sh#t that doesn't matter. It's a thrilling read!

Maybe I am missing something here, but how can players that just got recruited be deemed a waste? It isn't as if we had no talent from the past couple years. Feeling a little extra anti-Bill tonight?
  6. Funny you chose to post that part of the article. jk. I would encorage anyone reading the excerpt to read the whole article to get the entire gist of it. Not a bad article really. More down to earth than anything.
  7. Now that we are successfully extremely off topic..... I am having a hard time disagreeing with that. I have never been this close to a team and have it go through a change like this. If you want the change to be permanent and effective over more than a year, don't you have to stay the course? Not just revert every time the water gets choppy? I really think this is going to pay off and I am sticking to that. I have the patience where many people here don't. I know we suck now. That's obvious. If this new system doesn't pan out in a couple years, I will gladly admit to being wrong. I would like to see more running called now that the team has shown it's inexperience with the WCO. I think that Callahan is too worried about banging up his players, namely Ross, kinda like they are in the Pro's. I don't really like that attitude, but hey, I am not the coach and that's why we have messageboards .

  9. Because Callahan don't care if we win or lose, he just wants to run his beloved west coast offense. How is a coach gonna not care if his team or loses? That idea is ridiculous. Because him and steve p. are butt buddies along with jim rose so he knows he isn't going to get fired. He knows he can use the excuse that they aren't his players. He is use to the Nfl where losing happens. This is not a pro team. He is not use to winning ways where if you lose it's life or death for us. That's takin it a bit far man. I know you don't like the whole deal but damn, you make it sound like there is some grand conspiracy to just make a bunch of money and drive the football team into the ground and ride away into the sunset. I haven't heard the term butt buddies for a while. Thanks for the flash back to high school. I've said it before and I will say it again, everyone who has half a brain knew this year had a large chance of being ugly. Looks like it's starting to come true. haha. Like Jim Rose has any say in whether nor not someone at Nebraska keeps their job. Oh and by the way, Saturday still goes in the W column.

  12. Word. Our offense has to improve if we are going to come close to winning the North this year. Our defense is going to get tired of being out on the field for over half the game every game.

That's true, I agree. I don't like him on that show at all. He looked like he was wearing some sort of wig last night too. Weird.
  14. I believe that's because we are having to dumb down to the offense so Dailey can at least get a play off. Last night he could barely do that ! Yeah blame it on Dailey. I don't understand why you would want such a complex offense. I'd say make it simple and easy and effective and profect it. Why study 10 chapters when you only need to know one? I agree with you again Bernard. Bill should of known that Dailey would not be as successful as Gannon did with it in Oakland. I think that we need to simplify the offense so that Dailey can handle it but not to the point where we can not be successful running it. I would agree and that's why Callahan went to more bootlegs and slants at Pitt. Dailey could execute them well. I am not sure why we didn't see more of the same against Kansas.
  15. Huston made some great plays against Kansas. I was pleasantly surprised. I hope he keeps it up because he could definitely be an X factor for the defense.
  16. I would have to agree about the running to win. We seem to have success with running then we shy away from it time and time again. As far as coaching vs. talent. I think Joe has the talent, but just doesn't get it yet. A good guess would be a communication problem between the coaching staff and him. I would agree that he looked more confident in the first game than he does now. We can't win the Big 12 north with the offense playing like this. I just can't see it happening.
  17. Yup, our special teams have been all but good in the first four games. Just one more thing that is going to have to change if we want to win the north.
  18. Callahan doesn't even care. He was happy as heck after the game. If he is weird. I would of been saying the offense really needs to get it together. I need to call better plays and we need to execute better. I'm sure he'll say Pitt is a good football team like he did Pitt. All we run on offense is a screen or a quick slant. It's obvious. The idea that the coach doesn't care at all is ludicrous. If you want a Bo Pelini type outburst at a press conference, you aren't going to get it from him. Does that mean he doesn't care? No. It means he doesn't get caught up in emotions. To his credit, this game did go in the W column. That is something to be at least a little happy about. I'm not even going to talk about the play calling. You and I will never see eye to eye on that. Pitt sucks. Bad. He never does show any coaching ability on the sidelines. He reminds me to much of Pederson. Makes me sick to hear him talk, like we are good when really we are sucky. How does one show coaching ability on the sideline? IMO you have to stay positive at this point if you are Callahan. The program as a whole is still just pushing off the dock, so to speak.
  19. I understand what you guys are saying and I am just giving Benard sh#t. It's kinda hard to communcate that effectivley on messageboards. That's what the smilies try to accomplish. I like to criticize the program too, but as a fan I try to look on the bright side of things instead of constantly harping on the same negative points over and over in hopes that I will wake up next week and Solich will be coach again and I can have Nebraska football the way I[/]b want it again. When the truth of the matter is none of us has any control over what happens with the team in that respect. We either a) keep being fans and support the team or B) abandon the team altogether if we feel that strongly about it. I am in the a) column. Now does that mean I can't criticize? Absolutely not. I think that this change is for the best in the long run and that's why I continue to support the team and it's staff. I in no way expected the new staff to come in and be able to produce an undefeated season with players they didn't recruit. Normally that's not a big deal, but when you are changing offenses it is a big deal. GBR!
  20. That's the way all mainstream journalism is nowadays... Yea, that and most sportwriters don't know their ass from a hole in the ground.
  21. I never have been until this year. It isn't Nebraska. It's a boring cheap imitation. I'm really where I don't care if we hardly win or lose. It's weird. You care enough to come here and talk or bitch about it though. I'll continue to bitch until we get Nebraska football back. Not pu&&y ball! NEBRASKA BALL! You might be in for a long wait.
