Interesting points and I am inclined to agree with you. I think Lord did what he could, but he could never have a fantastic game in the big games.

I think the biggest contributor to the apparent death of the option is that defenses are too fast now. The game is two one dimensional for modern defenses. I think the quarterback reason isn't that great of one. It's not that you would need 15 of them, it's that you would need 2-3 tough ones. Also, the lack of a good O line recent years has really hurt. However, that would hurt in any offensive scheme, I believe.

Anyone know if SS will play in the BCS this year? Has it changed? I can't remember if I read anything about that or not. If so, this will obviously change a bit as the season progresses.

If it is a class that anyone can enroll in, then ANYONE should be able to enroll. Simple as that. I took a relaxation class in college. Saying that athletes shoudn't get the credit is like saying I shoudn't get the relaxation credit because I already spend half my time relaxing. Dumb.

Yea, like that matters. Most of us listen to music because we like the music. We don't feel like we have to defend the artists we like because they or their crew did something stupid.

The lancers even one a National Championship in 2000-2001. I will give you that UNO has been dragging ass the last couple years. The lancers always seem to start slow then gain steam towards the playoffs.

I have a hard time formulating an opinion on the defense for some reason. They have a lot of returning talent. The old system was primarily zone, this is primarily man which in the past we have never been dominating. Probably because we didn't have the athletes. Do we have them? That might be the question.
