Walsh is good in the field, but can't hit his weight. reminds me alot of Colby Gomes in his first couple of years.
-
nice. i think they have found somebody in Worthley that can contribute alot this year.
-
i like the swagger of Worthley. Freshmen in a tough situation and he came in like a boss.

Hopefully Sears gets back in another game soon. Can’t imagine much rougher situation to make a debut. Bases loaded, heart of the order, with kid who has 3 HR… imagine adrenaline was flowing a little too much. Also his first appearance out of the pen. Career long starter. Perry threw pretty well considering what he overcame
i don't. he looked terrible.

after Hawkin's disastrous Friday night why bring him back in a game you have a shot at winning.

agree on your assessment of Griesel's play today.

Griesel is an idiot. He needs to learn to play team ball.

come on. that check swing strike call on Cary was BS and so was that hit batter call

there we go. i still think we win this one. i can't believe SD has much pitching left. I also think Perry has enough to finish this game or at least get them to the 9th with no more damage being done.
-
geez Matthews. can't even make simple plays.
-
Nebraska needs something good to happen. that double was bad luck. i think Perry looks pretty good.
-
seems about right.

bases loaded and no outs. gotta make this count

Amazing how other teams have timely hitting and nebraska gets runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs and can't bring them in. gotta take Sears out now. he doesn't have it

Anderson crushes a a 2 out bomb to center to extend the lead. 7-2 GBR
he crushed that. good to see.

Carron's on fire to start the season

i'm all for aggressiveness, but Anderson wasn't close in extending that to a triple. running yourself out of innings instead of keeping runners in scoring position is a good way to lose close games.

a hit batsman and then gives up a bomb! this is eerily similar to last year.

I was listening to Rob Zatechka's latest podcast with Travis Justice. They covered a number of topics, as they haven't had a pod for a few weeks. Rob spent a few minutes chatting about the retainment of Raiola on the staff. Rob's main comments were:
- Yes, Raiola being retained could be in part of recruiting Dylan, but would Rhule risk a 5-star QB by putting him behind a crappy o-line?
- Rhule wouldn't be hiring an O-line coach he didn't want around for a long time if he didn't trust Donovan
- Donovan brought in Aaron Graham a number of times this past season to observe and give his thoughts. Graham said that the individual talent and abilities on the o-line was very poor (gave no more specifics) and Raiola was left trying to polish a turd
- Based on how poor the individual players were on the o-line this past year, Raiola could have been considered one of the better coaches on the team last year
the comments by Zatechka and the quote by Rhule seem to be at odds with each other.

yeah, i am starting to think they only way Nebraska wins this is to get through a couple of innings with our shaky relief pitching and then have Anderson eventually get up and goes yard. not a good strategy, but no one else on this team seems capable of doing anything productive.
