  1. Just an Aggie here echoing the sentiment Soonerfan expressed... Behind the Ags, the Huskers are my favorite college team. I even forked over the money to fly to Kansas City last December and cheer them on in the Big 12 Championship game. I hope you guys do return to national football prominence where you belong. Hopefully the Aggies will follow in your footsteps and get rid of Fran sooner rather than later. I think both schools deserve better. Good luck in your search for a new HC and AD! (Even to the Husker that said the rest of the Big 12 members are just stepchildren... ) And for the Sooners posting in here...I will see y'all in Norman on November 3rd! It'll be my first trip up there. Hopefully y'all don't lay another 77-0 @sswhooping on us, especially after Fran's ill-advised comments at the beginning of the season.
  2. I just heard about this tragedy on an Aggie board. That's absolutely horrible!!! As the Aggies say to one of their own fallen.... here My thoughts and prayers go out to him.
  3. I've posted on the football board a few times during football season, but I'm a newbie to the basketball board. Just wanted to send a heartfelt thanks to the Huskers at the A&M basketball game the other night. Taking a moment of silence to honor the passing of Shelby Metlcalf was a truly classy move, and all the Aggies are grateful. It's just another reason why I'm a fan of the Huskers (anytime you're not playing the Aggies of course). The Huskers are making their comeback in football, and I hope to see y'all up there in basketball as well. It'd be awesome to see the Aggies and the Huskers in the Big 12 Championship games (both sports). Good luck with the rest of your season!!!
  4. Hehe...I saw this commercial the other day, too. One of my friends has since been christen "brasky pants". I'm down in central Texas, and I was wondering why they'd only be showing one for Nebraska down here. Someone said they do them for several of the schools, but I have yet to see them. Supposedly, there's one for A&M where the guy is playing charades, and he loses because he refuses to say "hook 'em horns".
  5. Hey guys! Sorry about your loss yesterday. I was at the game (paid $90 for tickets that were selling for $20 on gameday...but whatever). I was really pulling for the Huskers. It's my second Nebraska game this season that I've traveled to go see (Big 12 Championship was the first), and yes, I graduated from Texas A&M. Nebraska is the only team I pull for in the Big 12, besides the Aggies of course. I love the football tradition and the fans y'all have. Kind of reminds me of A&M (except you guys have had a more successfull program in years past). I'm hoping to make it up to Lincoln next season to watch the Aggies play in your house. I've heard tickets are hard to come by. Any advice on what I should do to get tickets? Thanks! I honestly can't wait until the day that Nebraska is the powerhouse it once was. And one day Texas A&M will be right up there with y'all.

  8. Keep in mind...I graduated from Texas A&M, and I'm a die-hard Aggie fan. But I really like the Huskers too. 1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation? Since I started college in '98. 2) What/who led you to The Nation? Nothing in particular. Since the first time I ever saw the Aggies take on the Huskers, I've been a fan. Great team, great fans, great school. 3) Where are you from originally? San Antonio, TX 4) Where do you live now? Temple, TX 5) Favorite Husker memory? 1998 when the Aggies beat the Huskers at Kyle Field. It was my freshman year, and I'll never forget that day. I mean that as a compliment. It was just a HUGE game for the Aggies to win because the Huskers were THE team to beat that year. 6) Worst Husker memory? A&M game this year. I was so sure the Aggies would win that one, and y'all game back and beat us by ONE POINT!!! Gotta hand it to Taylor for driving the ball when he absolutely needed to. 7) Number of home games attended? Haven't been to any at Memorial, but I would LOVE to go one year. I hear tickets are really hard to come by. 8) Number of away games attended? 3 at Kyle Field, and the Big 12 Championship game yesterday in Kansas City 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? I have a really comfy Nebraska gray hooded sweatshirt. 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) Kyle Field. It's such a great gameday atmosphere there. I'm sure it rivals that in Lincoln, but unfortunately, I've never been to a game in Lincoln. 11) Favorite all time player? Crouch 12) WCO or Option? Option 13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? Couldn't stand Byrne when he first came to A&M because he jacked up ticket prices so high. But he's done AMAZING things for the Aggies since he's been here, so I gotta go with him. Thanks for letting us have him! 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? Lil Red freaks me out, so I gotta go with Herbie 15) Favorite Husker play? Any play where the Huskers cream the 'horns or red raiders. 16) Favorite game-day beverage? Lone Star Light or Bud Light 17) How did you find HuskerBoard? (referral source)[/b] Link from Texags.com
  9. Yes, I'm an Aggie. But the Huskers are my favorite team behind the Ags. I even went to the game this weekend (cancelled flights, sitting on the runway for 3 hours, fighting traffic...all that stuff to watch the Huskers play...but that's another story). Anyway...I've always really liked the Huskers because I considered them to be classy fans like the Aggies. I was on the 40 yd line, top deck, on the OU side. My coat just happened to be red, so I figured people would assume I was a Husker. But I was so disappointed in the way some of the Huskers were acting. Not necessarily to me, but just in general. After the Husker touchdown, the guy sitting next to me leaned down to the sooner fan in front of me and just screamed in his ear. And the profanity coming from the guy sitting right behind me (along with his HORRIBLE belches every five minutes with no apology) were enough to make my ears bleed. EVERYBODY in my section was dropping the f-bomb like you wouldn't believe. Then there was the sign a guy in my section was holding up that said "Another Broken Collarbone". I know every school has those fans that make everyone look bad, but there were quite a few of them in my section. What happened? The sooners didn't say or do much around me, other than scream at us when we left with about 4 minutes to go in the game. I've never been to a game in Lincoln, so I'm just hoping these guys were trying to stay warm by getting trashed, and that's the only reason they were acting like that. I pulled hard for the Huskers. Sorry you guys couldn't come out on top. Good luck in the Cottonbowl!
  10. i don't know why a lot of aggies are questioning the late hit call. i was at the game, and it was definitely a late hit. on the PI, i honestly thought he pushed off, but i never saw a replay of that one, so it could've just been my head willing my eyes to see something so that we might win the game. good game 'huskers. see y'all in KC at the big 12 championship game! Gig 'em Aggies! Beat the hell outta t.u.!!!!
  11. okay...i know this doesn't have anything to do with this thread....but you guys have the coolest smiley's in here!!! they're hilarious!!! we need some of these in texags!!!
  12. how cold do you think it will be around the day of the game? i've been to arrowhead for a chiefs game in january before, and it was the most miserably cold i've ever been....cold, windy, snowy. i'm a south texas girl, and i want to make sure i don't freeze my butt off.
  13. Got a serious question for you guys..... i bought tickets months ago for the championship game, even though i was 90% sure the ags wouldn't be there. i was just psyched to see a good game. my question is....let's say the huskers aren't there, and it's the aggies against whatever big 12 north team you HATE.....would you sport the aggie colors? or is that going too far? i'm obviously cheering for the huskers (they're my second favorite team behind the ags), but i'm not sure about donning a husker shirt. would you guys wear another team's shirt? i just want to make it obvious that i'm NOT there for the 'horns (or OU...whoever makes it), but i don't want to be one of those douches that wears a shirt for a team that isn't even playing in the game.
  14. Got my tickets at the beginning of the season, even though I was pretty sure it'd be t.u. representing the south. i'll be cheering big time for the 'huskers!!! i was at the game in college station this weekend, and y'all have some of the best fans. i've always said when my kids go to college, if they don't decide to go to A&M, nebraska is another school i would be proud to have them attend. i hope you guys get your payback against t.u.!! beat the hell outta the t-sips!!!! hopefully someday i'll be able to attend a game up in lincoln, but i hear tickets are next to impossible to come by.
