  1. This guy gets it. OU is one of the dirtiest programs in NCAA history and their fans have the nerve to brag about the football success that they BOUGHT. I'm actually surprised that so many here talk of respecting OU and hating UT. We have some jerk fans for sure, as everyone does, but most of us are pretty die-hard college football fans who will invite a fan of the other team to have a sausage at our tailgate and talk football. Happens all the time. My experience with Sooner fans has been that they're basically not very bright, not very knowledgeable about college football, and not terribly friendly. Most Sooner fans I've met don't even know their own history -- ask the next Sooner you meet how many Heisman winners they've had and I'll beat he won't know. He'll know about the seven national championships, though, but he either won't know or won't care about the 5 NCAA sanctions for cheating in football alone, plus the Bomar cheating and the basketball cheating by Sampson and who knows how much crap they got away with! How can you possibly respect that school or their fans? It's mind-bottling. They're a bunch of cheating, redneck scum and Bob Stoops hates puppies and Jesus. Do you get so little out of life that you have to come to another team's message board and beg for them to like you and agree with you. The only happiness you get out of life depends on 18-21 year olds. Your blanket statement of "most Sooner fans" is a little bit over the top. Like YOU said, every school has their idiots. To answer your question about respect, you can respect fans of other schools because they are people and we are supposed to treat each other with respect, regardless of who they root for. Like I said your happiness depends on college kids, so you cannot handle that concept. I love college football, but it is still a game played by kids. I get animated and mad and everything else, but I will never be judging another person because of who they root for. Once I get to know them they might turn out to be idiots, who knows. I know some awesome Nebraska fans, even Texas fans. You might want to get your priorities straight and get a grip on life. You will be a lot more stress free this way. P.S. Go to Oklahoma State's message boards. They will bash OU fans all day long with you and you can feel popular again.
  2. Thought I would give you a Sooner's perspective. Brent Venables is an amazing recruiter, but there are quite a few Sooner fans who wouldn't be heart broken if he left, especially if we can get Mike Stoops back. If you look back over the years since Mike took the Arizona job, our #1 problem on defense is the passing game, especially the 7-15 yd routes. It is definitely not because of talent. Our DB's and LB's seem to get lost in the zone that we run. The very first game since Mike took that job was the Big XII Title game against Kansas State. 35-7 loss. We have been missing the killer instinct ever since he left. I can recall very few games when we needed a stop by our defense to put the game away and actually got it. One of them would be the Holiday Bowl against Oregon. However, I can think of numerous games when the defense couldn't get the stop. Umm, Oregon last year (even with the bad calls), Boise State, Colorado this year......... That being said, new blood is always good and he is a great coach and recruiter. Just wish he could reinstall that killer instinct. I hope you guys get back soon. I miss the days of OU vs. NU with both being ranked high.
  3. No problem. I agree with you on representing the conference. I've always liked Nebraska. Especially recently since I had two of Zac Taylor's cousins in class. And I am still sore about USC whipping us in the NC.
  4. Just wanted to tell the Husker nation good luck tomorrow. Go represent the Big XII!
  5. Finally a classy Sooner Fan. Great game and congratulations. Your defense played lights out and Thompson had the game of his life. Good luck in your bowl game. Yeah, I have to apologize on behalf of Sooner fans for the idiots on here. I'm sure they are junior high kids somewhere who are sneaking onto the computer while there parents are in bed. This is the first time I have ever been to this board. I was reading some of the posts and some of our fans are idiots. Sorry about that. Our coaches had a great game plan tonight. When we converted the 3rd and long from our 1/2 yard line to spark the 99-yard drive was the game changer. I have all the respect in the world for Zac Taylor and the rest of NU. Not too sure about Callahan. Still hurting from the f'ing hillbillies remark. But, c'est la vie.
  6. I just wanted to come on here and say good game. It is nice to see OU vs. Nebraska playing for championships again. You have great fans. I cheer for Nebraska in all their games (except against OU ). I actually teach and coach Zac Taylor's cousin here in Oklahoma. Again, good game.
