  1. This list lacks Major Harris, as good as Frazier.
  2. This. I like to think I am a fairly level-headed person, but I turn into a frothing-at-the-mouth madman when I even hear about an Apple product. I'd be more aggravated if the 'N' on the helmet wasn't calming me down.
  3. ... and Washington thinks Nebraska would have won. THE CLOCK WAS STOPPED BY RYAN LEAF DAMMIT!
  4. On merit if that one play only ... Stewart's was better. However ... Flutie threw for about 500 yards that game. Became the first major college QB to pass for 10,000 yards. Came into the game with the Heisman all but his. Against the defending champions A minute after Highsmith scored for the game's 97834594th lead change Thanksgiving weekend 5'8 sh#t like that ratchets up the excitement and lore. Edit: Or what VA Husker Fan said well, well before me!
  5. You have to understand that Baylor didn't get completely humiliated last season (like normal) in the loss, so they are feeling great about themselves. They probably feel they are just a decade or two away from winning a game versus Nebraska.
  6. This was the most enjoyable Heisman race. For one, while I think Gerhart or Suh are MORE deserving, I don't think that Ingram is not deserving. The Heisman Trophy, even as it has become a bit misguided in its choices, is still an awesome award with an outstanding group of players that have, for at least in my 30 years, have entertained the hell out of me. Even further, it was enjoyable to watch five athletes that are basically goddamn superheroes with their X-Men-like natural talents also show such personalities. All are well-spoken and all are intelligent, showing that, for once, this whole college thing isn't entirely lost on them.
  7. That TD is fully credited to Lucky. What a block!
  8. Did he ask Purify? Because this is just going to be a total waste.
  9. As a Patriots fan, I''ll tell you, they'll never call that ... EVER
  10. I don't recognize the color announcer's voice and I don't feel like rewinding the DVR. However, I am sick and tired of guys like him in the booth. It is inexcusable to repeatedly pronounce a player's last name incorrectly when you are preparing for a game. The situation gets less favorable when your partner is REPEATEDLY saying his name correctly. Bo Ruud. Rude. Or am I nitpicking here? Then again, he's made no sense all game. Commenting on Keller's arm wrap and if it will help him throw ... it is on his off-arm.
  11. I was thinking about ordering the DVD. This would be my first time as I usually just record it and yank it off the TiVo. However, courtesy of the morons at Cablevision, I didn't get the game this week. I was just wondering how you guys like their DVDs. On a side note, I STILL can't get over how much I love DVR. This technology will never stop amusing me.
  12. I've never been to an ACTUAL Husker home game. Of course, you know why I said "actual." However, I've been to several bowl games, a Kickoff classic, and games at Happy Valley, Pittsburgh, Lubbock (yes, THAT one), and for both Iowa schools. Excluding the two Pennsylvania schools, I went alone as I couldn't convince any friends to fly to a game for a school they don't care about. I didn't regret it one bit. I've been to a lot of away sporting events for hockey. Hockey fans are fantastic! Nothing tops Husker fans, though ... and even most opposing fans. Despite going alone to a lot of games, I've always been well-received and, most importantly, well-fed. In fact, I can't tell you the number of times I've been invited over to a tailgate because of the color of shirt I was wearing. And I was always invited to the local spot after the game. If you are a Husker and look like a pleasant person, there isn't a single fan that will let you go through the experience by yourself. On that note, so will other fans. Everyone but Penn State; they tested my New York temper.
  13. I don't know of any for Wake, I am sorry, but to those of you going to the USC game, I got one. "We're Back!" Simple, yet everyone will know just what the hell we are talking about. Actually, if there is someone smart in the truck, a good "Thanks, Arizona State!" will make a lot of people smile right after a great play by Keller.
  14. This is definitely a DVD purchase game, assuming that is still going on.
  15. I am unsure how well others party, but the Nebraska Society of New York has done a fantastic job of providing fun (in large numbers) for the dozen or so games I've taken to heading down to Manhattan for.
  16. I've got ESPN GamePlan here in NY covering it. I know you can also get it on ESPN360, I believe! GO BIG RED! Yeah, but don't be late. Cablevision, the f'ing losers they are, spent 20 minutes to figure out what the hell I was talking about and, by the time they did, it was too late to order the game. I do not get that. Why the hell would you stop me from paying full price for less game?
  17. Damn, I forgot Rigoni is gone. Boy was he fun to watch. He'd just suddenly appear on the television on a kickoff and, shortly after, the play was over.
  18. That's correct. In fact, there is a lot of speculation in the SEC that Bryant deliberately scheduled that game for just that purpose - that he was able to use the score to force the Alabama board to permit integration to remain competative in football. I seem to recall there was recently a book published about it, but for the life of me I can't recall the name. Perhaps some of our board members living in Alabama can provide that. I emailed Maisel about that. Bryant absolutely did not say that. Instead, it was one of his assistants, Jerry Claiborne. Oddly, the only reason I know that is because I saw it some time ago during an .... ESPN segment.
  19. When ESPN wants to take the time to do something right and not go the cheese route, they sure show how they got to be the #1 sports source. Nebraska is in there a couple of times through the first two segments, but neither one is real fun to watch. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/columns/stor...amp;id=2915514#
  20. Nothing was worse than the OSU game this year. They came back to the game (right before the half) with Okie State halfway down the field and the ball in the air for the back-breaking touchdown with a few seconds left.
  21. I am a little late to the party, but with the powers of the 'net, never completely late! I wasn't sure if I was to be around for the game, but I've decided even if I am not, I am getting tickets. Thus, I have a simple and short question: Where (likely) will most of the Husker fans be? I do not want to get stuck with the ONLY group of Jayhawk fans like I did a couple of years back at Kansas. I managed to pick the only section in the whole stadium with KU fans!
  22. On a side note, is anyone really, really impressed with Yahoo's revamped sports page? It has been about three months now and I literally do not go anywhere else now.
  23. I think it is because, statistically, AC didn't have a 2006 like everyone suspected he might. I forget what game it was, but it was the middle of the season and I was curious as to why myself and watched him almost exclusively for two quarters. I never saw a defensive lineman get hit by so many people. That stuff doesn't happen all that much in the NFL. The occasional guy gets keyed on, but when you have an NFL team that is filled with 11 former All-American players, you cannot go around double-teaming anyone who is good. You surely can't throw the whole woodshed at one guy like I saw happen to AC quite a bit this season. And, even if you do, that means he is doing his job anyway because somebody else on the interior is free to go wild.
