  1. not a supporter (for HC) anymore, but he brought in a major influx of talent while he was here. Pretty much the cupboard was bare when he got here, and now when he leaves, he leaves us something to work with at least. Much improved depth, more talent at skill positions and LOTS of young talent. Too bad he couldn't develope and coach it.
  2. Nebraska would love Cowboy Joe
  3. back in 2005, I got a puppy dog and named the little fella Billy C. Almost named him "JohnBlake" actually. Whatever. Anyway, I need a new name for this little guy. I'll be taking suggestions until I hear a good one that I like. Thanks, Bob
  4. Fred Petito is from Chicago. Ask Notre Dame how they feel about hiring HS head coaches.
  5. I think you know what I'm inferring here.
  6. I think the fact that they are so blatantly juvenile is what makes them funny though. It's kinda making a whole mockery of the "making sign" thing in the first place. It's all just name-calling, so go back to the basics, right? I dunno, I think it's pretty funny actually. If y'all don't like it then that probably reflects the opinion of the general public so I probably won't do it. But I am making a shirt for the Mizzou game that says Chase Daniel eats his boogers. No question.
  7. I have two candidates right now, but am open to suggestions for more ideas. Sign 1: Every SC Player Picks his Nose Sign 2: Pete Carroll eats his boogers They are really juvenile, overly juvenile, and I think that's what makes them funny. I dunno. Tell me what you think. Or if you have another good idea, let me know.
  8. I didn't go to the LSW game, but I know some people who did. apparently he was an animal. Said he should be locked up! haha!
  9. how many yards did Okafor run for? I can't find it anywhere. I was at the Millard NOrth, v. Millard South game last night by the way. Sean Fisher's a speciman. So is Vondrae. Ty Kildow is very quick and shifty. Bronson Marsh is a good looking sophomore QB.
  10. Yeah that was quite a write up in the alumni newsletter. Still hate Notre Dame with a passion!! A friend of mine is a close friend of his mom and said he's dreamed of playing for Nebraska since he was very young. There's an article up on Rivals about him today (8/1) that will clear this up.
  11. I say just drop ISU and Baylor and then make every body play everybody else. That's a 9 game conference schedule. We play OU every year, and UT gets to play OU every year. Everybody gets t opaly everybody else every year. We could still call ourselves the Big 12, or the Big 11. Whatever.
  12. I agree. We won't be irrelevant forever. Our administration won't let that happen. But 4th is pretty high. The only way we finish 4th is if we go 13-1 and our loss is USC. Possible. Not really probable at all though.
  13. he was at NU's camp this summer. Stud.
  14. I believe up there they pronounce it, "Nordt Dakouta"
  15. I thought he went to Butler CC out of HS but I find no record of that. Somebody have any answers out there?
  16. DJR, I checked it out and you were correct. Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you on it. I had completely forgotten about it. But he was offered by Solich. I got that it in my head that he was a Callahan recruit because when he was redshirting as a freshman, I had read in numerous articles where Callahan had said that he really liked how well Huff was doing. So I just figured that he was a Callahan recruit. But you were exactly right, he was a Solich offer who Cally honored.
  17. I could be wrong on this one DJR, but I thought Huff was somebody Callahan went after real late in the process. I'll have to check.
  18. John Levorson ran a 10.80 sec 100m at Districts and if I'm not mistaken it was the 4th fastest time in the state, all classes. Link: http://www.nsaahome.org/textfile/track/b3res.htm what range of 40-yd dash does that put him into then? 4.5-4.6????
  19. "In the end though, I do not think he re-earns his scholarship to NU." I thought I notioned that.
  20. Baker Steinkuhler, Trevor Robinson, Sean Fisher, and Emeka Collins Okafor all already have NU offers. All of which have committed to NU with the exception being Sean Fisher. Here's a look at some kids that have D-1 potential and reasons why they might get or might not get an NU offer: Ronnell Grixby: a 5-9/190 DB from Omaha Central. Will likely get a D-1 schollie to play somewhere. Ronnell was said to be the most athletic of all the Grixby's yet. He actually had an NU schollie and lost it due to some behavioral issues (that is what was being unofficially reported). He has a lot of speed and has the weight that big brother Courtney did not. In the end though, I do not think he re-earns his scholarship to NU. Troy Williams: a 6-3/190 WR from Auburn, NE. Will also be a likely D-1 candidate, but a lot will likely depend on how his senior season goes and how well he peforms at summer camps. He plans to attend NUs camp this summer and that will more likely than not be the deciding factor for whether or not NU offers a scholarship to him. Ultimately though, I think he gets offers from the Iowa States and the Kansas States of the world, but NU passes. Tim Biere: a 6-4/235 TE from Omaha Westside. Already has a scholarship from Kansas State. He has great size and tremendous hands. His downfall is that he is not really all that fast. But as I already stated, will catch anything thrown at him. He is another that the coaching staff wants to see at their summer camp before making a move on. I think he is a position of need that is right in our backyard, and even though he isn't the prototypical West Coast offense TE, I think he ultimately gets an NU offer. Although, it may not come right after camp. In this case I believe NU wants to get a stud TE, then offer Biere and let him commit. With the trouble NU has had in offering TEs in recent years, they may want to make it look as appealing as possible to whichever TE it would be. John Levorson: a 6-3/190 Athlete from Crete, NE. Don't think I'm not kidding with this one. He wasn't someone I took seriously either...until I saw some of his videos. This kid is a serious player. His main problem is that his competition looks pretty weak. So it's tough to say how good he really is. NU wants him to camp this summer and that is likely where they will get a real good look at him. He's advertised to have 4.6 speed, and NU will find out if that is the case this summer at camp. He is being looked at by most schools who are interested as either a WR or Safety. he could be a real good possession WR, someone like a Nate Swift or Terry Nunn. He reminds me a lot of a recruit from last years class, Eric Hagg. This one I do not have a prediction on whether or not he'll get an offer, I think it will all depend on how well we recruit his position this year and how well he does at camp. He could go either way. If somehow John could go under the radar and not get any offers and end up walking on at NU it would be the ideal situation, but would probably be a miracle, because I don't see how the Wyomings and CSUs wouldn't offer him. Brian Thorson: a 6-3/280 OL from Millard North. he already has one offer from Buffalo. I say with almost certanty that he will not get an NU offer. He doesn't have the prototypical height that the staff here at NU is looking for in OL and we are supposedly full at OL now anyway.
  21. Hunter94, Patrick Witt had offers from Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Wisconsin, Purdue, among others. He wasn't exactly not getting attention from some big-time schools.
  22. Matt Donahue, a preferred walk-on for NU (WR), from Fremont, beat Niles in the 100 meters and ran the 5th fastest 400 in state history at 48.07. That's pretty nice to see.
