  1. Tough to say exactly where we will be ranked, but after watching a full day of football, I am happier and happier over that fact that we our game today. Look at Wisconsin struggling at UNLV, Virginia Tech getting dismantled, Georgia losing at home, Cal barely beats Colorado State, Washington over Boise St...just to name a few. We should be happy being 2-0 and having a HUGE opportunity to shock the world next weekend!!!!
  2. All I can say is that I'm glad that we were able to get a tough, 4 quarter game under our belt this week; rather than having an off week like USC. Also, after watching the LSU game tonight, our home crowd had better be as jacked as they were in Baton Rouge. You could tell heading into the game, that LSU was already ahead by 14 points before kickoff. There's no doubt in my mind that we will play better next week at home, and hopefully USC will play a sloppy game in their first road game of the season. Drink lots of lemon juice this week fans....we need to yell our butts off to help pull off the upset!!!!!!
  3. I'm tired of everyone making the excuse that Callahan and Cosgrove "called a vanilla game" in order to keep schemes off tape for USC to prepare for. That's total B.S. The facts are the facts...Nebraska fans expected a good showing today, and there's no way that Callahan and Cosgrove would roll the dice and be vanilla, expecting that we would barely win. In this day in age in college football, you cannot be vanilla anymore. Look at parity in the game...you can't just show up on gameday and manhandle the other team just because you are Nebraska. The bottom line is that NU failed to execute in many phases both on offense and on defense. Had NU executed a few more 3rd Down conversions, eliminated some of their killer penalties, established better control of the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, and tackled better, this game would have been under control by the end of the 3rd quarter. It doesn't matter what type of gameplan you bring into a game if the offense and defense do not execute the fundamentals. NU could bring the best gameplans in the world for the USC game, but if the players do not improve their execution, we're in trouble. In the end, we're 2-0, we're heading back home, and let's hope that we have a great week of practice. I guarantee you that the effort will be much better next Saturday with the home crowd spurring the team on...let's just hope that the pass catching, blocking and tackling will be much better as well.
  4. Mangino question: Based on the recent youtube clip (sorry, don't know how to post link) of him chewing out a player last week, I'd say that he hasn't seen or used his penis for several years. That was some major sexual tension released on his player!!!!
  5. Everyone remember this sign from last year?: E..ven S..noop P..icks N..ebraska That was classic..especially since Snoop claims to be a huge USC fan.
  6. What topic will there be more signs made: 1. ESPN and how they suck 2. USC and how they are going down
  7. I'm thinking about bringing a sign that has a picture of Mark May with his quote "I'm not saying that USC is going to put up 70 points....", and then design a way that I can make a shoe move up and go right into his gigantic mouth. OR, if that doesn't work, I'm going to make a sign with that slob sitting down and preparing to eat a big plate of crow. He needs to be called out for his Husker bashing.
  8. Probably not the best for our reputation as great fans, but how about: "You can't spell SUCK without USC !"
  9. Here's one that I came up with the other day: E..vade S..aying something P..ositive about N..ebraska
  10. It's official...ESPN College Gameday is coming to Lincoln!!!! Here's our chance to show that we are truly the best fans and have the best signs....Show us your creative input!!!!
  11. I agree....don't tear down the goalposts. However, can you all imagine the release of all of the pent-up frustration by Nebraska fans over the last seven years, should we beat USC? This state will be going nuts!!!!! Hopefully, the fans will not have any energy left to tear down the goalposts, as they will have yelled their butts off. Let's all party on "O" Street after the game...not on the field!
  12. It's going to be my personal mission to make sure that everyone in my section will be yelling their butts off for the USC game. If anyone leaves the USC game without being hoarse for the next two days, then you are not a real Husker fan. There is no doubt in my mind that a rockin' Memorial Stadium can be worth 10-14 points. Blue hairs stay home....this game will not be for the faint of heart!!!!!!
  13. Our ranking means little right now. That's the beauty of our schedule this year. We will have several opportunities to move up the rankings, especially over the next two weeks. If NU can take out Wake and USC, we will have the attention of the writers from both sides of the country. Polls in September are a joke...the voters are making "educated guesses" (and I use that term lightly), but mostly vote for the big name teams year after year. Ask Michigan how much it mattered to be ranked in the Top 5 last week.
  14. NU 31 WF 20 Rush: 205 yds Pass: 240 yds BRING ON THE TROJANS!!!!!
  15. MadcatNU: We stayed at the Drury Inn in Columbia two years ago. Nice hotel (shopping area nearby, several restaurants too) and there were plenty of NU fans there last time. You may want to make reservations ASAP, as we were told that the Columbia hotels may be close to 100% full for that weekend in October.
  16. Well, our topic must have been discovered by ESPN. I just saw them give a little love to Marlon Lucky as a Week 1 top performer! I guess it must be after Mark May's bedtime, so they can finally mention something nice about the Huskers!!!!
  17. My beef is no mention of Lucky's 233 rushing yards. If freeman would have thrown fo 300, or some running back from Oklahoma would have ran for that much, it would have been OMG second coming of Peterson, NC, Hiesman, OMG what recruiting prowless!!! ESPN BLOWS!!!!! I'm sure that even ESPN will have to take note of Lucky should we beat Wake and USC, especially if he stars in those games. Of course, ESPN will find a way to blame USC for losing, rather than give NU credit. Any guesses on which team ESPN will then plant it's lips on once USC falls? We all know that it won't be NU!
  18. dude, if (when) we beat USC...I'm writing an e-mail to Mark May. Don't waste the energy...the moron can't read!!!
  19. ESPN...Please, please, please come to Lincoln for the USC/NU game. Make sure that you send Mark May along with the gang so that we can all watch him shove a foot and then some crow into his pie hole after we take down your beloved Trojans.
  20. E....vade S....aying something P....ositive about N....ebraska
  21. I think this year's matchup needs to be billed as the "Bugeaters vs. Boogereaters". I have gone to the last two games in Columbia, and I can't tell you how bad I want our Huskers to kick Mizzou's butt up and down the field. They have some of the worst fair weather fans in college football. All you have to do is look at the parked vehicles around the stadium...half have KC Chiefs logos and half have STL Rams logos. Case in point...I had an obnoxious fan razing me at the last game in Columbia, as Mizzou was winning. I finally asked him "If you're such a big Mizzou fan, who does Mizzou play next week?" His response? "It don't know...all that matters is that we are going to beat Nebraska!" Now that's Tiger pride. I will be in Columbia again this year and I'm sure that there will be just as many NU fans there as in the past, as Mizzou will have already lost a few games that they had no buisness losing. It's time for the Huskers to take the next step and firmly establish our dominance over these pu&&y cats!!!!
  22. Taking shots of Red Maui after every Husker Touchdown...MAN LAW!!!!
