Any chance they trot Hoiberg out at the 4pm presser? That would be a power move.

Anyone buying the rumor that Doc is returning with Fred?
No

I would also hire Hoiberg no later than Thursday to get free pub when he goes to his sons game Friday. Prime time on CBS
This would be ideal. His face will be plastered all over the T.V. with the announcers talking about it every chance they get. In the words of Biggie Smalls, "if you don't know, now ya know"

I’m not sure why people think the ISU situation matters.
For my own amusement I was hoping we would hire Hoiberg and Prohm would get hired at Alabama shortly after.

All the local media guys think this is a big development for Nebrasketball.
Honestly, I was never worried Hoiberg would go back to ISU. That would just be weird. Its like leaving the bride at the alter for one of the bridesmaids, then after a couple years trying to get back in with your original bride.

Nope!
It will happen, on Moos schedule, not the press or public’s schedule. I love, that some reporters are foaming at the mouth, and criticizing how things are being done, because it shows just how far from reality they really are. Teach’s post above, points out just how ridiculous some reporters have become, because they are not in the know.
Well, I cant take it anymore. Hurry up!

Has there been any further news to come out? Any press conferences scheduled by Moos?

I’m getting so tired of this kind of thought from the OWH. If Moos fires Miles and hasn’t contacted potential candidates, he’s not doing his job.
Classic millennial thinking here. Everything is about what "feels" right, not what reality is. Yuge difference.- 1

Do you really think the basketball coach being fired would have an impact on the job of the entire University of Nebraska President?
Agreed. I dont think there is anything here to do with the athletic department. Read the article from the World-Herald. To me the contract extension in June with no raise after he had been pleading with the state to provide more financial support to the colleges is likely the nail in the coffin.
Just imagine you were in a job where you had by all accounts gone above and beyond expectations and had gotten several situations resolved and moving in the right direction. Then come year end review time you get a pat on the back and a "hey we are willing to keep you around".

After reading the World Herold article sounds like he is fed up with the state and wants to move back closer to family.
Edit: And he basically got slapped in the face when he was given a contract extension thru 2023 with NO RAISE.
I'd go elsewhere too.

Prohm has already turned down Bama. Plus Hoiberg doesn’t like Pollard.
Where exactly did you see the bolded? I've heard this repeated a couple of times but have yet to see definitive proof of this. I know in the post game presser of their loss to OSU he said he was happy at ISU and wants to be the best coach he can there but it was far from a "Im not interested in the Bama job". Especially considering his AD was standing in the room. Also, given how ISU played in that game against OSU (awful) I wouldn't be surprised if something is up with him.

The only number that matters is 69 (que Gronk talking about 69)

I didn’t have a smartphone but I did have a digital camera, computer, and internet and was willing to put some work in to attain 8.8/10 rating on ratemyrack.com. As I’ve said above, my 18-24 years would have been much worse had I come of age in 2010+.
Do you still have the link?

Statement from NU AD:
“Last fall we were contacted by the Nebraska Attorney General’s office and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln police department and made aware that officials in California were interested in interviewing Maurice Washington about a prior incident. Details were not shared and there was no additional follow up with the Nebraska Athletic Department. Recently, we were made aware that charges may be filed against Maurice in California. We have not had a chance to review the charges, and will continue to monitor this ongoing legal process.”
And there we go....for everyone clamoring for why Mo was allowed to play all season. Lets learn from this shall we.

so this was reported to authorities 11 months ago and nothing has come of it yet.
If the accuser in this instance is reluctant to press charges or if some people arent cooperating with police it very well could stand still.

Since police had this video of alleged sexual assault why wasn’t one of the boys in the video charged with sexual assault instead of distributing pornography? How stupid would one be to have sex with someone, make a video of it and then share it with your friends if it was sexual assault? I don’t pretend to know the psychology of someone that was raped but I’m sure the girl was aware that the video was being sent around so I would think that would be the time to let it be known that the video being shared was of her being sexually assaulted and not consensual.
One scenario I can think of here:
Mo dated said girl in the video. The video he has is what prompted them to break up and he kept it (for whatever reason). Maybe when videoed originally it was consensual, after it started being distributed the girl changed her mind that it wasn't. I dont know, but it happens all the time. She reaches out to him a couple years later because now she sees his success at NU. He's still heartbroke over the ordeal and responds with the video, essentially sticking it in her face. She then decides to turn him into police for revenge porn/child porn etc. as a get back at ya moment.
This scenario sounds more realistic to me. Doesnt make it much better. He's gonna have to learn he's in a pretty high profile place and people are gonna come at you. Need to learn some situation awareness. Could have just responded with a "wrong number" and left it at that. But now he has a serious problem on his hand.

Are we saying it would have been a bad idea to take your friends phones in college and take dic pics and send them to random phone numbers. Asking for a friend.

The second after he opened it, when he didn't contact the police, he was guilty.
That's like saying someone slipped cocaine in your backpack without you knowing, then you found it and flushed it. But because you didn't call the police you are guilty of being a drug dealer.
Don't get me wrong the "alleged" incident is terrible. However, had he just not went full retard and sent the picture to the victim and deleted it we wouldn't be here. At this point he's guilty of being an absolute dumb@ss until he goes through the judicial process.

I dont see a for sure loss on the schedule. We could really break out this year. I voted 10-2 but think we will end up 9-3 or 12-0...hahahaha

Fred Hoiberg To Be Named Next Nebraska Coach

If Hoiberg ends up as HC (I think he will). I cant remember the last time I would have been more excited for football season to start and roll into basketball season.
