  1. Westgatehusker, I disagree that knowledge of the offense means more than talent. If anything they are equal. Think of it like this:

Two people go into a room to take a calculus test. One of the people had a study sheet that he used for several weeks, and although he wasn't a very good mathmetician, he had developed a pretty good feel for the test, because he knew what to expect. The other guy only had 5 days to use his study sheet, enough time to become familiar with what was asked of him. This guy, however, was a brilliant scholar and excellent at math. Who do you think would turn out better?

Also, knowledge of an offense is something that can be picked up; talent? not so much. Sure, the WCO is intricate and unbelievably detailed, but it is still easier for an athlete to learn something new than it is for them to go against nature and magically become more talented.

  2. There was a teaser article on the packer's scout page that said something about "The Packers are looking to their young talent on offense.." and then said something about how jackson will be expected to contribute immediately, so that is probably a good sign! I don't have a subscription though so couldn't read the whole thing :(

  3. "Instead of taking part in Packers minicamp on May 17th, rookie running back Brandon Jackson was forced to attend a photo shoot in Las Angeles. At the time, fans seemed a little annoyed with this and rightfully so. It was quite unfair that the NFLPA forced him to miss camp, but instead partying it up on the L.A. trip, Jackson displayed a great example of maturity and motivation by constantly studying the Packers playbook.

"I was real frustrated," Jackson recounted Thursday. "But, knowing what you got to do, I really didn't care after that. I had to go, so I went, did that. That's done and over with. I'm back out here, I'm happy and I'm just ready to go."

This is certainly a pleasant change-of-pace. It's a rarity these days to find a rookie, or any player for that matter, as devoted to improvement as Jackson is. When others are out punching strippers, attending dog fights, being arrested for assault and eating beef sticks in jail, Jackson is going out of his way to make himself a better player.

Green Bay may have found a gem here. Fans and fantasy football players should take notice."

:D go get em b-jax :box

  4. Tarheel, perfectly legitimate argument, but I don't think he was comparing the Pac-10 to the Big XII, but rather comparing it to it's hype. The Big 12 hasn't been hyped as an elite conference for some time now, and the Pac-10 seems to always be popular, but the teams always disappoint, according to how people think they will do.

  5. Oh jeez, um ok i will give it a shot!

  6. If I was a recruit I would get mad if coaches were constantly texting me. First off, I would laugh because it would be hilarious to me to see a coach use internet acronyms like "lol" and abbreviations like "w/e", but i mean, IIII have to pay for those texts..

  7. Has he even actually visited or anything like that? I agree with the general feeling here that he will leave as soon as LSU offers, but if we can get him here on a visit for say, the USC game, there is a chance that he might be more solid with this choice.

  8. number one player in nation WOW but doesn't have us as a favorite:(

Is there any new news on this guy? I know we already got Gabbert at quarterback, and to be honest I wouldn't really want a legitimate dual-threat quarterback in our WCO, but he could be amazing as a WR, SS, or basically any other position on the field!

  9. I figured I would try one or a few recruiting threads, even though I don't actually have a subscription to Scout or Rivals! :P

    Bio:

In nine games for Sierra in 2006, Moore posted 60 catches for 970 yards and eight touchowdns.

Um yeah this is pretty lame, but he is a 5 star recruit on scout, and a ju co guy. Don't laugh at my thread ok guys?

  10. Last I heard it comes out on July 17th, and yeah there will be a PS2 version.

borNred, I agree, for some reason EA decided to spend all of their dev time on features and virtually no time on the gameplay engine, or the graphics. Still a LOT of things wrong with this in my eyes, but we will see come release date.

Engine will run a lot smoother at 60 fps so it'll be noticeably different. Graphics look bad because the file is shrunk.

You can keep being a digital sunshine pumper if you want, but I'm going to remain objective. :P

Sure the engine will run smoother, but that doesn't stop the players from moving from animation to animation in the blink of an eye and also doing things that normal humans just do not do. For example, on one of the NCAA 08 vids out there, someone is playing as a quarterback in Superstar mode. They hand it off to the runningback, and the quarterback starts to take off after him down the field (looks pretty nice). As soon as he gets tackled, less than a half a second after the quarterback starts sprinting one direction, he turns around and does this really weird, goat-like prance the other way. :wtf

Also, if you read hands-on previews from IGN and Gamespot, they'll tell you that the graphics look identical to last year's. ;)
