  1. No. If you keep making this thread, they eventually will. You're on your, what, 10th?
  2. *sigh* Play the young guys and let's get ready for next week.
  3. Just got back from the Baylor-sCUm game. Sat 2 rows away from another guy in a Husker jersey! I had all my NU gear on, so we hit it off and had a good convo... I see that I came in at a bad time. Anyone care to fill me in? I see the defense is getting demolished...again.
  4. Hey Texas - Where are all your favorite spots to catch a game, eat, party in Waco? I'm down there on business frequently and unless I settle for a 'chain' I haven't found a good local hang out. I often settle for Bush's Chicken and take it back to the hotel to watch TV. Docks on the River is about the best I've found so far. You're out of luck now! Dock's just closed in. I was in Waco last week as well and my Grandparents told me that Dock's had just closed. They're putting something else in it's place, but it's not coming to me right now. I don't think it's anything "exclusive". The popular spot is George's if you want to grab a burger or a beer. They have very good food and it's all really cheap. This is a Baylor watch spot. They have a huge tent across from Floyd Casey where they serve beer and burgers all afternoon on gamedays. If you'd like some EXCELLENT Tex-Mex (especially fajitas) head down to Ninfa's on 3rd Street. Not sure where you usually stay, but it's right by where the Hilton is just off of the Baylor campus. The Elite Circle Grille is pretty good if you're okay to spend a few bucks. The chicken fried steak is great. Buzzard Billy's right on University Parks Dr. by the suspension bridge is great for cajun food. Some other cool things that aren't really party or food related to do in Waco...Check out the Texas Sports Hall Of Fame. It's right on the Baylor campus across from the Holy Parking Lot (Baylor put steeples on a parking garage...I know). If you go a bit further down University Parks Drive you can see Waco’s Historic Suspension Bridge. It was the longest single-span suspension bridge west of the Mississippi when it was completed in 1870. The Dr. Pepper Museum on 5th Street is always impressive. Dr. Pepper was invented in Waco, just in case ya didn't know haha. If you'd like to do a bit of walking, really, go check out the Baylor campus. It's one of the most beautiful, prestine campuses in the world. Old buildings and BU is so rich in tradition. It was started in 1845, the same year that Texas was annexed. Very interesting stuff.
  5. Yea, this is just something that I wrote about my goals and my future. I'm sure most of you don't care, but I figured I'd share it anyways in hopes that maybe somebody will read this and push themselves to do great things. I've often imagined being a star football player, point guard for a professional basketball team, or being a Cy Young winning pitcher for the Texas Rangers. I've had a passion for sports and all things surrounding since the day I was born. Some of the earliest pictures of me are me waving my Bear paw and saying "sic 'em bears" in a Baylor t-shirt haha. For years, my main goal was to work closely around sports, preferably on the business side, but I've noticed something within myself that I need to bring to the front. I have something inside me that tells me that I want to impact someone's life. I want to make a difference with young men my age and turn them into strong individuals. Along with this want to do something great, I've indulged myself in football and all things related to it since I was born. My fantasy that no one knew about was me walking up and down the sidelines in a headset and a hat with the logo of a D-1 team, rather than wearing a flashy suit and talking money with the big shots. I've wanted to be a football coach since the first time I saw the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers play up close in Tom Osborne's last years. Lately as football season has started, I find myself happier than I have in a long time. I love this game and as crazy as it sounds, I feed off of it. If the Cowboys, Packers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Baylor Bears win all in the same weekend...I know I'm due for an awesome next couple of days. I want to be the one leading the troops out during the Tunnell Walk at Memorial Stadium. I want to lead the Horns out through the smoke at DKR. I want to touch Howard's Rock as I step down to the field at Clemson Memorial Stadium, knowing that I developed a gameplan to help these young men win a game after a week's worth of hard work. I think my sudden realization that I can be so much better than I am now has really helped me see what I am destined to do. No, I haven't played a down of football since middle school. I know, it's strange. I was a basketball player. I love it, but something about football calls me. The passion. I just feed off of it. Through all these rough times in my life I've realized that I want to be a leader. I'm tired of following everyone else. I want to lead young people to do the right thing and become great individuals, and the way I feel that I'm best suited to do that is as a college football coach. To be honest, I don't care if it's D-3, D-2, FBS, or FCS. I just want to be involved in this thing that I'm so passionate about and turn my dreams into reality.
  6. Got to keep that tradition going at Baylor. Hope the Bears win. Your butt may be in Texas, but we know your heart is in Nebraska. I don't know where "Husker-hell" is, but I think it's anytime you get caught in the crossfire of the Solich/Callahan crowds. ROFL! You are correct, sir lol. I love BU, but There Is No Place Like Nebraska.
  7. Gosh...We have some good QBs. I know it sounds a bit premature, but Ganz, Witt, Lee, and Gabbert next year could all be starters at other schools. Hope none of them decide to transfer...
  8. I really can not decide. I just can't pick...
  9. They're doing a segment on him on College Gameday Saturday morning.
  10. I'm not sure whether to be excited or bummed. Instead of enjoying the NU-MU game on my 60 inch HD television, I will be in Waco watching the Baylor-Colorado game. Yes, I will be wearing all my Big Red gear. It sucks that I have to miss the NU game, but I'm excited a.) to see CU get put back into their place and b.) to see my first Baylor game of the year. I've only missed 4 home games since I was 5 years old, so I'm looking forward to finally getting back down to Floyd Casey Stadium. I'm still not convinced that CU is a good team. I think Baylor should win this game, but we'll see how it goes. You never know with good ol' BU. So with that...I just wanted to make sure that this isn't a betrayal of all Huskerdom. It's not worth going to Husker-hell over...
  11. Gotcha covered. See above post.
  12. As a Mizzou fan I can tell you that the confidence and attitude this team plays with is so drastically different to what we are used to. I think it started last year, and hopefully is even better this year. We certainly have some great individual talent as does Nebraska, but I think our team is really playing like a "team" and I hope that gives us the edge. Not to mention, Chase Daniel has gone on a booger eating diet, making him that much more mobile and able to get outside of the pocket to make big time throws. I just wouldn't want to catch it after he touched it...ewww.
  13. Let me guess...you're tuff as rain? P.S. Ball State would beat Kansas.
  14. Agree about Nate Davis, the guy is a stud QB (much like Sam Keller) who also possesses quite a bit of mobility. Ball State has a GREAT Tight End in Darius Hill to go with the speedy Dante Love on the outside. People seem to automatically think that they suck. Ball State is not a bad football team by any means. Don't get me wrong, we should've beat them by at least 17, but people often don't give them enough credit. They can play some football.
  15. The one thing I keep hearing from Husker fans is that you guys have proved yourself against proven talent and that Mizzou is yet to do so. I honestly just don't understand that. I don't think anything was proven against USC other than late in the game when their 3rd and 4th teams were in. Other than that game, I think that the Mizzou and Nebraska schedules have been pretty comparable. I think Illinois is a better team than Wake Forest. Ole Miss may not be great, but we did beat and SEC school on the road. What proven talent has Nebraska played other than USC? You can choose to believe this or not, but Nate Davis from Ball State is a future NFL QB. If their WR, Dante Love, improves his hands, he also has a chance to be a first day pick. They havne't just put up those numbers agianst us. They do it against everyone. They have a very prolific offense. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/profile.php?pyid=64924 -- By this crew, Nate Davis was rated the 5th best QB in his class and has been moving up all year. Illinois is not better than Wake Forest.
  16. Take your time, Mo. Follow your heart and everyone will respect your decision. You're in the prayers, bud.
  17. Yes, but with aggy, I find it hard to keep my ethics in tact. I have this urge to harrass them. Remember, I wasn't raised by Husker folk...I was raised by wealthy Baptists from Waco (hint, hint).
  18. Who's Chuck Norris? He's more than a man, but less than a God...like Hercules or something. © Sandlot.
  19. ^ I'm so glad you didn't lock this up...
  20. I hate aggy. No offense, but I hate aggy with a passion. Have fun losing and not making a bowl game. 5-year extension for Fran, too!
