  1. Alright! Good to see. Yes the important part is the synergy of the coaches. A lot of seemingly very talented minds, now can they all play their roles and not get in each others way. Wow we just have SO much work to do in such a short period of time. Im sorry guys, but Im really thinking we could possibly drop 4-5 games this next season. With ALL new coaches, AND a new offense in one off season?!! Wow. If these guys pull it off, i.e. 9-2, 8-3 it will be huge. Im looking forward to watching history unfold!! GBR!

    The Streak

Wow that is impressive. And actually that was my question to you RMS so thanks for the reply!! Man the word parity didnt even exist back then did it. Amazing.
  3. Lincoln Journal Star: It's been smooth sailing for Cosgrove Sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders.
  4. Ive heard that a kid named John Vigers will be in town this Sunday. He's 6-2, 200 and runs a 4.5 40. We're recruiting him for safety, b/c he's a big kid but couldnt keep up with WRs. He also has offers from Ole Miss, Tulane, & Mcneese St. Ok St is also showing interest. This would fill a hole in our secondary nicely.
  5. Yes I would agree RockyMtnSooner. The Sooners should have had at least one team in the top 10. So what years did that streak take place in? That must've only been regular season wins, right? Because they would have definitely got more love if it were including bowl games. That wouldve been about 4 straight years which I know didnt happen!! Did it?
  6. Yes keep up the good work Fanatic!! But I do have some negative news about JP. He now says Nebraska is too far away. Stated that he will probably go with Auburn b/c they are close, and they have a bunch of his old teammates playing for them. Well this isnt what we would hope to hear, but we heard this before this past season, ie Murtha etc. So I wouldnt count us out yet!!
  7. This is lookin good guys!! Hot off the wire: Ryan Bohanan, a 3rd baseman from Kansas was named an All American. He will enroll at NU in the fall. His final list of schools were Cal-State Fullerton, Long Beach State, Miami, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, and Arkansas. He's ranked as the 51st best player in the nation, and even pitches for his HS team. He struck out 12 batters in a national tourney vs. an Ohio team. He'll most likely be a 4 year all state player after this year. Height: 6-foot-2 Weight: 175 pounds Class: '04 Bats: left Throws: right Its lookin up for NU baseball!! I love it!!
  8. I 4th the above comments. Although Im one to say "lets move on" and am ready to accept this change and support the new regime (hence my name!), as I think you are all ready to do as well - but I still recognize who got us here for crying out loud!! Ive also heard some of the banter going on about Tom speaking his mind. Phooey. What a bunch of hogwash. Like on of the earlier posters said, he gets bashed for not being outgoing for so long, then when he is he is bashed again. Darned if ya do.... Would you guys have wanted NOONE to have publicly decried Steve and his shennanigans??? When the majority of Husker Nation was ready to string Steve up, and now it seems many are saying "Tom how could you!??". Gimme a break. Fickle. Fickle hypocritical and you know what, they arent TRUE NU fans either. True Husker fans realize that the Godfather is privileged soul. That the Godfather would never do anything to harm Husker Nation. Tom did nothing crass or out of line, and for crying out loud he is still endorsing the freakin Stadium and project with his and his wifes names!! Even after YES he was bamboozled by Steve a bit. So to all these fans that moaned for weeks about Steve P, and now finally someone with some authority has the podium and expresses a valid counterpoint, in a very respectable manner (he still said "you should cotinue to support the program") and now this isnt good enough either!?? My goodness what do some of these "fans" want???? Go Coach Osborne first and Go Big Red second. Because right now Im a bit embarassed to be associated with some of the "fans" of Husker Nation. NU Era
  9. After reading about each of these guys Im even more reassured than I was before! Thanks a bunch guys for getting this info to us so quick over the past couple months. Now lets talk some strategy for Spring football!
  10. Hehehe. This is great. Hopefully Nutt will get what he has coming to him. But wouldnt it be interesting to find out that Nutt was telling the truth after all!! Oh my would that cause some static. We will see if Stevie is the truthful honest guy we thought!
  11. Very good points. I am real excited about this recruiting and coaching class to see if they can fill the large Big Red shoes left behind by some legends! I think they are up to the task. This will be a great year and I agree with CalHusker about the formula for success. Go Big Red!!!
  12. Not sure why we are 3?! Just shows you we still dont have the respect. Oh well just gives us another reason for motivation. Hope to make the run for Dingerville again!!! GBR!

    Ell Roberson

Wow a decent and legitimate thought by this guy. I actually agree with most everything you said. Some decent points. Better not hold my breath for another one anytime soon though.
  14. I know there are some others but like Pile said it tends to be people just posting just to post. The opinions on here seem to be more thought out and in depth, where the others are just one liners about their dog if even that. I know Huskerpedia.com has one but it requires a paid subscription.
  15. Great website. I really like the FREE part and the fact that it is still as cool as most other non-free message boards. I like the other people here so far. I'd like to meet others Husker fans online. I'll start spreading the word!! Thanks for the neat site!
  16. I was sad to see these old heros go too. But you know what, I have to face reality and accept the change that is bestowed upon me. And no Steve Pedersen isnt a gun wielding Samuel L Jackson either so there will be no "ye who walks thru the shadow of death" quotes! Get over it! And get a grip WyomingHusker!!! Come on buddy, you cant be for real? Shake yourself, it isnt that bad. These arent your fathers Huskers. If we wanted an old timers team to suit up every game for nostalgic reasons that would make us all feel fuzzy and everything but wouldnt get us anywhere. I loved NU football the way it WAS more than anyone, but Im facing my fears and dealing with it with a positive attitude. Steve is doing what he sees fit, and will pay the piper if things dont go too well. We'll jump off that bridge when we get to it. But for now if you want your "old" Huskers back which happened to be WINNERS, you'll stop WHINING and start supporting Husker Nation and help the BIG RED MACHINE get back rumbling on the winning track!!! NU ERA!!!
  17. Yes I would also hate to see a great tradition die. But I guess we have to be realistic, kids are attracted to a place where they can learn transferable skills. To the NFL that is. The option just doesnt work in the big leagues, so that deters skill players at QB WR and even RB b/c they dont want to seem like they are a product of the option, and they want to start their On The Job Training for the NFL!! We dont have to completely ditch it, just like you guys said above "complement" it a bit with some other variations. We'll be okay, Coach C seems to get the tradition of the Big Red, which I like!! NU ERA
  18. Hey guys. Well I am real glad to find a place to discuss exciting Husker stuff like this with everyone. Im real pumped up about Coach Callahan. I think hes a GREAT hire, and we are very fortunate. Im not sure that Steve didnt back his way into it, but who cares, this is awesome!! Well just wanted to say hey to everyone, welcome to Lincoln Coach Callahan, and Go Big RED!!! NU ERA!!
