  1. I will post but if I get any doubters or flamers then I post no more news. We should just speculate more...but I will piss on the flamers or doubters.

I have a question.....If you have such an in in thei athletic department, and such a storied collegiate career, then why are you seeking validation and cautioning those on internet message boards?

I did NOT have a storied college career, I had a seat on a very good ride. Second, I don't seek validation I just don't want this thread to turn into some of the others where it was "yeah right" and "that is BS". I would like to see this thread elaborate on what I said, give opinions and speculate but there is no reason for someone to call me a liar or even make the comments you did. And I do have "such an in". Anyone can if they pay their way. He has been a booster for over 30 years.

Can anyone who wants the info please send me a pm? I am not looking for any praise or kind words. I just have been $hit on this board by some since August when I was saying to get rid of this Prick AD, sh**tty coach and horrible Coz. Then I get $hit for the info I give, all of which turned out to be true. I have been right the whole time and you want to criticize me. For some of the comments I received the last 2 months I should be boasting every post. This whole time I supported others who had 'rumors' and I gave everything to Huskerboard because I thought it could reach the most fans. I never looked credit and I get comments like yours.

PM if you want the news. Otherwise my "alleged source" info is OUT.

  2. Heard on 10/11 News that Osborne sent a letter to former players inviting them to practice basically any time they wanted. WOW... I'll bet that really pissed off BC.

Also, did anyone catch Callahan's response when he was asked about the pressure of having Osborne at practice? I'm paraphrasing, but he first said something like, "I've coached in a Super Bowl" and then said something like, "In the past I had Bill Walsh at practices, he was a pretty good coach, I'm sure you've heard of him?"

I just get the feeling that BC is one pissed off guy but he is completely boxed in.

If NU wins this weekend, TO will get the credit.

If NU loses this weekend, BC will have another load of bricks dumped on his head.

Just shows to go ya that Callahan is a jerk!!!! :bonez

Callahan has ALWAYS been a jerk and never had this team heading anywhere but medicocrity and now the players quit on him so welcome to the inevitable. I still remember getting a phone call immediately after Cally was named coach and the person on the other line who is now an OC for a D-1 team only laughed. My voicemail was just him laughing. It was so obvious outside of NU that he was, is and always will be a bad Head Coach....pleasefirecallahan was the one thing I begged to be wrong about. The only silver lining is that I thought I was going to be proven correct in another 2 years...they canned him earlier than I expected. Gosh, I remember how terrible I thought that extension was. If he didn't have it he would already be done...DAMN!

  3. I don't think the public needs to know everything that happens behind closed doors while it's happening. But there's a difference between not telling the whole truth and flat-out lying. TO could be hurting his own legacy and credibility. Everything's still conjecture right now though. Let's wait and see what happens before pointing any fingers.

Wrong. It's not going to seem like he was lying, and nobody will care because everyone will understand the politics of it all.....THIS IS DIVISION 1 FOOTBALL-NOT INTERMURALS!

Don't go catching feelings right now about pure honestly. The bigger message is more important then every word in it.

I'm not sure how any of my statements are wrong.

I'm not trying to criticize anyone. I'm merely wondering what the public reaction will be based on your info of what's happening as opposed to what TO and others are saying. This is purely hypothetical since the events have yet to be played out.

I am saying that he won't lose any credibility. Nobody will even think about it for more than a second and it will play out like they aren't lying. Is anyone criticizing Tom for lying about not talking to Perlman about the job prior to his Monday statement where he said nobody contacted him???? NOPE because they don't care about symantics.

  4. Thanks for the info. It'll be interesting to see how Husker Nation reacts if true. Some are already questioning TO's honesty if the coaches are removed.

I blame his stint as a congressman. :box

(But seriously..Can you really ever be totally honest when talking to the public?)

  5. IBR I didnt realize the paper was from 4 years ago. My bad, Do u know if nebraska has contacted any canidates? What happens if nebraska rights the ship and beats a&m and Texas?

All above mentioned coaches have been contacted.

And, pigs fly, hell freezes over and we each win the lottery.

So does this statement mean you're just yanking our chain?

It means those things are as likely as us winning the next 2 games with Cally as the coach.

  6. Where they going to get all this money because I seriously doubt it's coming from Warren Buffett.

Are you saying that they will keep the coaches and keep losing b/c that is better??? It's an investment b/c they will lose money and fans if they don't fire these clowns.

Who cares about the money???? Are you paying for it? I would add $3 to my game ticket to pay them off. Besides I am making a larger donation than last year b/c they are firing these A-Clowns.... I am sure my partner and I aren't the only ones excited enough to drop a couple bucks in the kitty.

  7. IBR I didnt realize the paper was from 4 years ago. My bad, Do u know if nebraska has contacted any canidates? What happens if nebraska rights the ship and beats a&m and Texas?

All above mentioned coaches have been contacted.

  8. Wow, that kinda destroys all these theories but who knows. So has nebraska been in contact with LSU have they stated their intrest in bo? Thats what i dont understand

why don't you understand this? And I have stated that I believe the Bo as HC is about 70%. There are still details and intervies to finish.

  9. This is not a flame and/or doubting. It actually makes a lot of sense given BC's attire at the press conference (and yes, if he has a contract with addidas, what he wore does make a big statement IMHO - others do not have to agree). However, are there any precedents to firing a coach mid-season? I just would like to look into those situations a little more to see how they played out.

Also, TO said he wasn't making any changes before the end of the season. If these guys knew on Sat and/or Sun then TO had absolutely nothing to do with the changes. Perlman said he wouldn't be hiring/firing any coaches though. And technically, he may not have. If they agreed to resign with a given buyout, nobody was technically fired.

Mackovic lost his team, he was fired during the season, Stoops replaced him after the Sooners regular season ended. It happened just 3 years ago.

  10. so wait, i'm confused...McBride would come in w/ the other former coach...but we would fire 4 of them?..who else would come in?..something just doesnt add up.

i'm not critisizing or flaming, i'm just trying to clarify things for people.

You only need a head coach and a coordinator. The other coaches can help with the lines...the position coaches don't need to be replaced...both coordinators can coach them or another position coach.

  11. Not Doubting you IBR, but mcbride was stated saying he will not be coaching the defensive and the reason he was seen around the building because he was going to be at practice wednesday. (not exact words, but something of that sort. Heard it on nebraska sports radio.) Is this just a cover up? to keep people at bay? what do you think

I am going to believe my source until he is proven wrong but what else would McBride say???? Yes I am taking over and Cally is getting fired despite what everyone else has said. He can't say that either.

Why else would he be there other that to at least be assisting TO is some way.

  12. A lot of this is confirmed in the fax I got in terms of Cally and PUD knowing before Sunday. And it shows the lack of caring and adjustments vs. OK St.

Who asked BC to resign? Was it TO, or Perlman?

From what I understand TO told Perlman this is what he would like in order to become AD and what he believed would help and Perlman told PUD and Cally. PUD was more gracious than Cally and Co.

  13. Here is the news.....

Osborne laid out plans to remove Cally last week

Cally, Coz, O-line coach and d-line coach are gone

They are pushing back hard for a better buyout

McBride is bringing Sanders in with him just for this year. There is no timetable but it is just a very temporary thing to make fans happy and help keep/get recruits.

Pelini for next year and hoping to keep Watson

The next big embarrassment and this should go down. I was surprised about McBride but it's just for this season if at all but they are ready to go. All this info was laid out last week and it was told to Cally and Co. on Saturday night.

Some of this info had been stated in different threads and now I can confirm this.

  14. I'm new here so I don't know if the original poster has some magic info....but Buffet has never even given money to the school for academic reasons and I doubt that his first big donation will be for football.

He will be paying off the TO center. It also confirms other rumors that he is giving $40 MIL to school. I wasn't sure about this either but the source has been spot-on so far so I posted it.

Hell he gave $50BILLION to Bill Gates so who knows. Also, it is a redemption for TO and Solich who mean a lot to him.

As for Buffet. Today on the radio they said KETV was running a story that Buffet said no he did not give any money. Now I wouldn't be surprised if some money came from Sokol, but it appears the Buffet rumor is just a rumor. But then I suppose KETV could be running a story that is incorrect. Anything is possible.

I would seriously doubt that Buffet is going to go public right now and say he gave $$ to fire people. He made billions being smart, not a moron who would make Perlman look like he can be bought. I think we might see in 6-12 months the TO center isn't in the red anymore and maybe with no publicity or fanfair.

  15. And last week and Sat night PUD said no immediate changes were coming and yet he was already getting fired and he knew it. TO was offered the job Sunday night and Perlman avoided that on Monday. This is how it works so that nobody looks too bad. They are doing right by Cally, so Cally will do right by them and resign.

  16. This goes against what Osborne said yesterday in his press conference. He said that the staff won't change until after the year. Even then maybe not.

    So who's lying?

Not true....TO said HE "won't make any changes" that doesn't mean coaches won't resign and the TO must replace coaches or change roles.

Perlman and TO have been skating the line like politicians with their speak....so has Cally.

  17. AND WHAT IS WITH ALL THE GARBAGE OF BRINGING IN THESE RELICS OF COACHING'S PAST... BARRY EFFIN SWITZER? COME ON! CATCH UP TO THE NEW MILLENIUM... YOU PROBABLY WOULDN'T BE AGAINST BRINGING IN MIKE DITKA OR HOW ABOUT THE GHOST OF BILL WALSH EITHER...

THE NEXT COACH OF NEBRASKA NEEDS TO BE A CURRENT COORDINATOR WITH EXPERIENCE FROM MULTIPLE, SUCCESSFUL PROGRAMS... NOT UNLIKE BOB STOOPS IN '99... FRESH OFF A NATIONAL TITLE AT FLORIDA AND RESURRECTING KANSAS STATE'S D IN THE EARLY '90'S...

MY VOTE IS EITHER BO PELINI OR WILL MUSCHAMP

The new coach will be younger...I was told they want the old way in a new face...meaning tradition with a new king

  18. This was posted on another board from a guy who had the very early (and reliable) scoop on Steve Pederson and Tom Osborne:

Callahan, Cos, Elmo, and Wagner were asked to resign over the weekend, and again yesterday before the press conference. All refused.

They may be all dismissed anyway, sooner rather than later. Maybe very soon. The remaining assistants would have the opportunity for retention under a new head coach.

Osborne agreed to these changes in principle before being hired as AD.

The interim plan could call for Watson as OC, Busch as DC, and Charlie McBride as interim HC!

Bo Pelini has been in contact with Tom Osborne and is VERY interested in the head coaching job.

This was posted with a caveat that lawyers are involved and things may change, but that is what is happening right now.

If this is true why would they keep a coaching staff that knows it's going to be gone. If I was in that kind of situation I would be calling all the recruits and tell them to look for other schools. The recruits would be talking about this and no way way would it be kept under cover. I'm throwing the bs flag :)

Nebraska just got lucky last time that most of the coaches off of Solichs staff were loyal Husker fans other then Pelini though he thought he might have a shot at HC.

well Bryce Givens has reopened his recruiting, Blaine Gabbert and Will Compton will be visiting Mizzu this weekend, so who knows what if really going on right now

All I'm saying is that recruits would be talking about how they talked to the coaching staff and how they told them that they would not be there next year. Can't see how rival or scouts board would beable to not report this kind of talk.

Coaches will not be contacting recruits about this at all.

  19. I will say a few things from experience. When Tomey resigned form UofA he knew 3 weeks prior that they wanted him to step aside. He stayed on, coached the team and did it professionally. Then he resigned like it was his idea. If he didn't then he would never have been able to get another job. Cally is a professional (even if he isn't very good at his job) and he is getting paid a lot to leave. If it isn't done well, then he will never get a job.

Most coaches who are fired see the writing on the wall and they accept it. It is part of the profession....and a reason I left it. You are often times in a lame duck situation like a politician.
