  1. I kept saying to myself "somebody make a play!!" It looked like everyone was too afraid or too dumb-founded to hit someone. There wasn't a leader on the field, regardless of Oct's antics on the sidelines. If someone stepped up to the challenge and destroyed their running back in the backfield, it could have started some momentum. The only thing I saw all night was missed tackles, arm tackles, and our defensive linemen surprised the running back was already past the secondary.
  2. I don't want to give the impression that this board or I condone betting in any way, but how much personally does everyone have riding on this game? I bet a "bag of popcorn" this morning to some bloomin' idiot at work, he gave me 10 points. I wanted to bet when I was in Vegas, but they only had the lines on the games out one week before the games, and I was there mid-August. If I were there, I would bet $50-$100 on Nebraska regardless of the points. We're expected to lose, so I'm willing to bet that we are going to do better than the so-called "experts". Just trying to gague the level of belief in us Husker fans.
  3. Much better than Lou Holz's sorry attempt at a pep talk during last night's game. "We would rather play USC than UCLA because USC has fewer letters". I used to think that no man could ever be THAT old, and he is actually a robot dressed to look like Lou, but after that comment, there's no way a robot could have come up with something THAT irrational...
  4. I only remember the "Ruuuuuuuuuuuuud" call once during the Nevada game. I think his brother is the reason why he's starting for the Huskers. We're deep in LB's, but I want to see some more guys lit up in the backfield. Ruud needs to get it together - he needs to start wrapping people up. It seems like the whole team has had problems with that for the last couple of years. Bo seems to be decent at reading the pass and covering the Tight End, but he doesn't have the ferocity that his brother had. He better get hungry for USC or he's gonna get smoked.
  5. You pretty much nailed it IMO. I have kept my mouth shut for three years and have been a BC supporter, but I'm pulling the duck tape off and removing the rose colored glasses. Simply put BC is a Jack A$$ and anybody that doesn't see that is just plain stupid or doesn't know anything about the game. Bring on the flak BC boys............... This is the same thing we were saying when Osborne couldn't win the "big one". Believe and ye shall be rewarded. Things are going to be rocky, but be satisfied with the wins and believe that we are on the way back to the promised land. This I believe, because I am a true Husker fan.
  6. Good luck with it. I vaguely remember watching a game after the supposed rebuild of the goalposts where husker fans had rushed the field, guys were bouncing on both arms making the whole thing sway back and forth before they cut away the TV coverage, and I don't think the crowd was able to tear them down. I'd love to see it though!! I just think that you tear down goalposts at the END of the season before you go to the national championship or Big 12 championship, not in the middle of the season. It IS the biggest game this year, and one of the biggest since Osborne, it's a night game, we'll have national coverage, and USC is going to be sleeping at the wheel when they roll into Lincoln. When the conditions are right, the fierce storm takes you by surprise!!!
  7. First time poster here. I remember hearing a few years ago that the old goalposts were removed and they poured "many" feet of concrete and installed goalposts that would be almost impossible to tear down. Anyone else hear of that? When was the last time they were actually torn down in Lincoln? I remember hearing about frats carrying them out of the stadium to their after-parties and parading them down O Street about 10 years ago (rumors maybe), but nothing after that.
