  1. Nice pic... Seen it on my FB already.... Don't remember you being much the athlete in HS buddy ... PS I voted for your little lion, congrats on the cute little fella.... Thanks for the vote. Yes - I found my talent was keeping the benches nice and toasty, but when I was out there, I tried to show the heart of Rudy while I was getting tossed around.
  2. Hopefully he'll grow up to be more talented than his old man on the gridiron. Thanks for voting!
  3. If I could kindly ask you to go to this picture on FB, and like the picture of our our little guy - he's in his lion costume, and the picture is labeled "our little lion". We are in a FB contest that ends at 4:00pm today. If you would take 2 seconds out of your busy day, I would appreciate it!! I know in my heart if he wins, this will change his entire life, he will immediately gain an enormous amount of confidence, and should be ready to contribute to a LB or DB position next year to help out the team. Do this for the Huskers, as we badly need quality recruits in these key positions. Thanks in advance!!!
  4. A total of 4 have been offered according to the article: Nebraska, Missouri, Rutgers and Notre Dame

  6. If the Husker defense completely shut down or embarrass Colt McCoy and the Longhorns on national TV, could this be a head-turner for Suh to step into Colt's place as the front-runner for the Heisman? I may be sipping some kool-aid here, but if Suh were to be completely dominant while Colt being completely ineffective in a head-to-head competition, don't you think Heisman voters would find it difficult to vote for Colt over Suh when it comes time to check the box on your ballot?
  7. In the Deed - before I get poked in the eye, I AGREE there was a pre-option era where we threw the ball more, but TO will be immortalized as an option coach, and not for his passing offense. That's all I'm saying.
  8. Strangely when NU had the greatest passing seasons in their history pre-WCO, TO was the coordinator/head coach. Vince Ferragamo anyone? Didn't he start a Super Bowl? Maybe TO can coach passers? Please check facts before you post a blanket statement like that. So what if he was an Superbowl starting NFL QB...Mark Rypen was a Superbowl winning QB, and I wouldn't put him down in the top 100 passers in the NFL (make that top 1000 probably). Scott Frost had some magnificent passing drives under center as well, but these guys were born and bred to run the option, and the pass was used to keep defenses honest. IMHO, there's a ton of HC's or OC's that I would pick over TO if I were going to establish a pass-heavy offense. You may disagree with that, but in my book, TO wasn't known for grooming QB's to be prolific passers.
  9. Specifically during the KU game, every long pass to Niles Paul was a jump-ball. If Niles has the guy by 3 yards, he has to check-up, stop and jump to get that ball. Not necessarily a high-percentage catch (although Niles made it look easily), and with a Safety coming over, a good defender will make that receiver pay by knocking his legs out from under him or blasting him out of bounds. On the other hand, if you place the ball down the field near the sideline, if you overthrow, you just get an incompletion, but you avoid the interception or the risk of getting your receiver torn apart. I give TO all the respect in the world, but the pass definitely wasn't his bread and butter. If I want advice on the option or smash-mouth football, TO is your man. If you want advice on pocket or play-action passing, you probably want to look elsewhere.
  10. I can tell he still isn't his old self. He still looks like he's not quite as quick coming out of the backfield. It's good to see him back in action, but I still think he'll need some more recovery time to be 100%. It will be interesting to see him in the game at Colorado, because when Helu needs some rest, the rest of the pack (outside of Rex) doesn't seem to be able to get things done on the ground.
  11. That's two games now where receivers have had to adjust, sometimes unsuccessfully, to Lee's throws. I saw one where he overthrew and the receiver should have stretched out for the ball, but mostly his long throws are under-thrown. Niles Paul made a couple of good plays having to get his body in the way of the defender to get the ball, but if Lee puts a little more loft and distance on these things, our receivers could catch them in-stride and have a chance at a TD instead of a 20-yard gain. I heard someone say that Lee under-throwing is "intentional", but I don't think that's the case. When a defender is on a fly, the under-thrown ball with a good defender is dangerous, because a good CB or a safety waiting in the shadows will be licking their chops for a pick-six.
  12. befranklin....I can't tell if that is a serious question. If it is, the answer is "no". The site isn't setup the best - it's just counting "posts" of the data on the page. Therefore, you can go back and keep posting the page with the right radio button selected, and it will count your vote. If anyone wants some "automated" help, there's a program called iMacros that can help you rack up votes very quickly. Although some may consider that "cheating", any of these other programs can use the same program, so it's a level playing field. Eventually ESPN will catch on and limit it to 1 vote per IP per day, but until then, you can vote again and again. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3863
  13. If you use Firefox, click on the Vote link, then hit your 'Backspace" button. It will take you back to the vote page, and you don't even have to move your mouse. Just click, backspace, click, backspace, repeat, repeat, repeat.
  14. Section 39 row 94. I'll send the tickets out in time for the first game if you use Paypal. Reply to this thread and I'll send you an email if you're interested.
  15. This crap is getting ridiculous. When Best Buy only allowed "packaged deals" to be sold when selling computers, the government stepped in and said that it was illegal. They could sell computers with packages, but had to offer the computer separately, and if you bought a package deal, BB had to allow you to return those components that you didn't want to purchase. Now, apply that logic to college football tickets...shouldn't this be illegal? Requiring people to purchase extra tickets as a "package" when all they want is the one ticket? Shouldn't consumers be able to return those tickets they don't want for a refund, and get fair-market value? Aren't there any lawyers on this message board that want to make a crapload off of the NCAA (I'll take my 5% cut for pitching the idea).
  16. Speaking of athletes, UFC stars Chuck Liddell and Houston Alexander are Huskers too.
  17. This is awesome!! I am going to use a longer version of "Can you Feel It" because I love that song.
  18. I'm thinking teams are going to be double- and triple-teaming Suh all year because he's a monster. You may not see a huge improvement in his stats this year (which might be bad for his stock), but this approach will help out our overall defense, opening up lanes for blitzes. I'm glad the guy stood up and became a leader on the defense, but I'm hoping our LB and DE's step it up this year, and hopefully we'll find another defensive leader once Suh is gone.
  19. I was saying last year, if he stays for his Senior year, that he will be a top-5 pick in the NFL draft. Who knows what will happen in the NFL - the #1 pick in the draft could go to a team that needs a QB instead. The stars would have to align for Suh to go #1, but I think he'll go high if he stays healthy. Can't wait to see him kill some offenses this year!! Go Suuuuuuuuuuuhhhh!!
  20. In the 2 minutes that it took me to submit my answer, Auburn's total went up over 100 points. There's got to be some bots hitting their servers hard. C'mon folks, just get a couple of submissions in so we can rise up the charts.
  21. Yeah, Man-gina could eat all of these guys for breakfast...literally...
  22. Could he not get into Yale coming out of HS?? Why go to NE and be the front runner for QB, and all of a sudden, decide to transfer to another school? If he's a smart dude, then he could have gone for a Master's in an Ivy League school. BTW - he was pursuing a degree in finance. It still is confusing, and I don't think we are getting 100% of the story. For being such a smart guy, it seems like a boneheaded move to throw away all the time you spent to get to the top of an organization.
  23. I used to be in ROTC, and the University has been pretty good at distributing the guys in the orange coats around the stadium to do security, etc. I noticed during the game there were a lot of orange coats hanging out by the fences between the field and the walking areas in the East and West stadiums. I also noticed when someone had some sort of medical emergency in the North stadium there was about 10 security guys that arrived before the paramedics, so they ARE out there. Sorry you couldn't find any. I believe this year the Spring Game was even more restrictive than previous years. It used to be that kids were allowed into the stadium for free, and weren't assigned a seat if they did the drug-free pledge at halftime, but this year TO made it so everyone must have a ticket if they were going to attend. That meant everyone had to have an assigned seat. I know students will move to sit with their friends during the game, but they ARE assigned a seat, and if they are in your seat, an usher or security can correct the situation. There are also actual policemen/campus security guys there on hand if things get really out of hand. Sorry for the bad experience - I think they might have been a little under-staffed, because it was a Spring game after all.
  24. We had the best tickets of our lives to the spring game (50 yard line, 12 rows up), and my wife and I were amazed that Suh spent at least 30 minutes in the 3rd and 4th quarter signing autographs for people. Not only is he a stud on the field, he seems to be a great guy when he's on the sideline too.
