  1. Ok, so i have not been here in a while, but i have to respond to this: I think Bo is a decent guy, but he cant handle the job. The best teams were not his players, he cant fix the defense and we never saw the players get better. The pipeline is prolly the 9th best O-line in our league. Not one big win. EVER. So let me say that i would have no problem saying this to Bo and here is my email. husker153@yahoo.com. I would be glad to set up a meet a d greet with you face to face, I dont like your tone or your bitchy attitude and i want to say that to your face. I really dont care for you. Im certainly not scared.
  2. Stoopids not coming dont care.....need a qb
  3. I could not agree with this post more.....I have said that Bo will do well to repeat an 8 win year......I think that 5-3 in conference will win the North....I'm not drinking the Kool aid......nope......but I can't see another team in the north more settled at more positions than the Huskers......defense will carry this team...if and thats a huge if........A QB steps up and gives us a dual threat or a big arm....then a 9 or 10 win year is possible.......Bo will have depth next year...atleast more depth than this year.....to me that is the Key to slowly building a winner Mizzou, KU and CU played alot of young players....that may help next year...but down the road it will hurt them......I also like the way this staff has found players that Bill simply would not have played........not a contender...but the Huskers are done giving up 50+ plus to anyone.......
  4. I read thread after thread that gives NU no shot because we have new starters coming in 2009. So.......... The Huskers have very talented guys ready to step up......I can't wait to see Lee Witt Spano and Green fighting for the Job.....and oh by the way, the playbook has been cut way back, it helped Joe and it will help the new starter...this is hardly as bad as watching Mike Grant or Mickey Joseph....... DL........lots of things here say speed and toughness.....I like the redshirts stepping in, probably see a late JUCO signing and the Baker show will be taking the field next year....NOT ONE TEAM IN THE NORTH HAS THE TALENT NU HAS ON THE DL......Mizzou and KU both take HUGE hits along the line......so step away from the ledge........put the gun away and smile.....the Huskers have a chance to be special....could be the first time in years that the Huskers will have 4 guys that will play on sundays across the line. LB's.......this unit has nowhere to go but up....and agin, with the redshirts and returners, the Huskers will atleast be the Best set in the North........if Bo can coach this group up, find a walk on or two for added depth, we should be just fine. I see the Husker playing well next year on special teams next year as well because 50+ players redshirted(counting walkons)....the whole team will be deeper, faster and stronger.... Holla
  5. I agree that things are looking better....the defense will be better next year....... I like the Talent on the O-line and the staff has done a nice job with the young guys...if Christensen comes back...look for them to be very good. The Backs and receivers are better that we will see most days and as good as we will see.....OU may have better WR's.....but I like Paul and Co. to be very good. The QB situation is up in the air....but it reminds me of the old days when we had talented guys battling LEE Spano Green and Witt are studs.....I also expect to see the Huskers run more and more Option and QB run pass option next season....with a better Defense ...look for the Huskers to step up their Keep away game plan....the spread don't work if you don't have the ball.... I guess in a long winded way...I just think that we are fine at QB and the overall improved play by the rest of the team should help the transition. The D-line will be better if SUH stays and a big year outta him in 09 will only bring up his NFL stock.....Look for Bo too upgrade this unit in the offseason. LB's .....nowhere to go but up with this group....look for alot of youth and better speed...still a long ways to go. secondary....decent talent and agin...bo will keep imroving this group...still....thay are a decent unit in 09... overall....I think 09 will be decent...I expect the Huskers to go 6-2 in the big12 and 9-3 regular season........ that is where we need to be.....2010 is where we return to our good Home schedule and Bo will be in year 3.....that when I expect to return to the top 15 in the country and contend
  6. I would agree that the offense has not clicked since Crouch....that no joke......Lord had his moments, but NU has lacked a decent offense since Crouch Last year the Huskers fielded a team that should have been rolling up yards...but BC and Keller Never got it goin....not until the threat of the QB running was returned to the Huskers offense , did NU look good......as to your claim that NU only scored because the other teams subs were in is a joke....the Huskers Never Played KU's Subs or CU's Subs...and KSU played hard to the end..........nobody plays their subs agin Nebraska....they alsways want to pour it on.....Give that a rest....Ganz and the boys turned the corner and why?????? Because man for man...the Huskers have more talent on the offensive side of the ball than anyone in the North ................and yes this includes MU and KU armi, i bet i would love what you are smokin! MU beat us 41-6. Thankfully we did not have to play KU last season, it would have been a big win for them too. the O still needs polishing. the 08 have not lost a game......so if you are goin to talk football.then tell me how MU has more talent TE......Cauffman....Hetzer???????? O-line............no doubt NU QB.........Ganz 19 td's 8 int's in three games......or Chase....30 td's all year......I like Ganz at home +NU RB...Lucky and Co. are light years ahead of Earl Goldsmith.....NU wins this one WR..........Maclin is awsome.......but the Tigers live and die with TE and RB play....got to like a draw at home in this column........slight edge to MU unfortunately for you.Keller and BC won't be around to mismanage the game...when Ganz or Lee breaks off a big run early to give the Huskers a lead at home....You will be N then
  7. 8. I agree it will be more fun next year.......however, The Star System and ranking recuiting classes has been pretty accurate over the year.....the teams that land in the top 25 generally play in the top 25 of the country....thats where you have to ask yourself."why not NU"....the answer is clear....Callahan All you need to do is to look at the mess he made of the Raiders.....then Look at the mess he made At NU........think it's a coincidence?............not likely........BC was a decent fellow who could not coach a large group of players...he is a great recruiter, but a position coach at best. Pelini has shown his ability to coach half a team....now that we have given him the shot too coach it all, we will have to wait and see....keeping Watson was so huge for this team, it showed that Bo was no ego freak whom thought he new it all.....he knows the defense is in trouble and he knows he can fix that..he also saw that the offense was clicking and kept his mits outta that.......that is a 180 from BC...... but this thread is about talent........the Huskers played well below their talent level last year...they were also bringing in their 4 th QB under BC......and rebuilding the d-line.........the Huskers did a poor job of all those things.......most if not all can be laid at the hands of BC......Keller was a joke, did he not watch the spring game when Ganz was playin like a stud?..............why did he stay with coz after the 05? you can lower expectations....but I see wins over VT, KU, CU ,ISU , KSU, BU and a better than 50% shot to beat MU..............talent is there.....and please people, stop with the CU will beat NU next year in Lincoln........they lost a ton of players, and they come to Lincoln.......just stop with that .
  9. I read thread after thread that says KU and MU are WAY TO Talented to beat Fact....Nobody has recruited better that NU , Not MU KU Or KSU and CU has had some decent runs even... they are down the list Name me a better stable of RB's in the north? Lucky, Castille , Helu.....not to metntion the incoming guys and Kenny Wilson Our Recievers are as good as MU's they looked like NFL studs when Ganz finally got the nod and got them the ball. Paul and Co. are BIG and Fast Nobody in the north and maybe only OU can field an O-line as good as NU's..... Our returning LB's are talented and the speed from Assante ,Culbert, Thenarse will give us a decent shot to slow down the spread offense....there are also very good players coming off injury or redshirt. Whitmore will play early, that and we return guys like .Prince ,Blue and Murillo The D-line maybe the real project, but that is where Bo excells.....there is talent there and they will also welcome some new blood.....look for stiff competition and a tough conditioning program to whip this group into shape...I'm not calling for the 85 Bears....but these guys will be as good as anyone in the North. Callahan wrecked the last two jobs he has had, the recent staff was decent at getting talent and terrible at getting it to play....from what we have seen from Bo and Watson.......I think the Huskers will finally be able to turn Callahan's big time classes into WINS
  10. I will vote Ganz.....the Huskers were horrible on offense until he started pulling the trigger....his running ability opened up the offense and he can hit the open receiver.he needs to reign in the overthrown balls....but he will score twice as many TD's as the next guy on the squad....furthermore....he brings confidence and leadership to the team.....Ganz is N Bottom line: Ganz has a better arm than Daniel....and he is a much better runner than Reesing.......I can't wait to see him running an option play to the short side of the field with Castille's big ass on the recieving end of the pitch......when he ran the ball the Husker offense was unstopable......
  11. Why weren't they talking to YOU mister! What were you doing during football season? Screwing around? Smoking and boozing it up? Skipping class? If you ever want to get the attention of Pelini and Cotton, you have to EARN it! But...in the meantime...Have you ever considered Iowa State? We may have a spot on the roster for a fine, upstanding young man such as yourself.... kids that screw around, kids that are smoking and drinking? sounds more like a colorado student rather than ISU It's all part of our Master Plan over here in Ames....first we get all the screw ups and pretty soon we OWN Council Bluffs! Bwhahahaha! Oops...we already own Council Bluffs don't we. Uh...soon we'll own Paxton! We aim low over here...that way we're never disappointed. NO WAY!!! We ain't givin' up Olie's (sp) Big Game Bar!!!! I heard it closed..have not been there in about 6 or 8 years
  12. Good argument-- all the way to the woulda shoulda coulda part. Then ya lost me somewhere along the yellow brick road to that never-never land where Bo can retroactively win games at a school he wasn't even coaching at. Expecting a 5-7 team under a new coach and staff to compete with two top ten teams with established coaches returning lots of starters is one thing, predicting a win against them is another. While anything is possible (every game is winnable), expecting, maybe even predicting it is .... something else. GO BO!! Are you saying that a Bo Pelini team gives up 60+ to CU? Are you saying that a Bo Pelini team lets Charles roll up 200+ yards in the 4th Quater? I not taking a shot at you but I don't think pointing out the obvious is wishfull thinking.........Solich would have run the option offense agin So. Miss and won that game too.....I'm sure thats a wacky statement Bottom line is that NU was way too talented to take a crap in there hat every game......that team was at worst an 8 win team with a rough schedule....and if you want me to really get wacky....I would have bet that had TO taken this team over in the spring of 07......they would have won 9 games.....it's coaching and talent.....
  13. So. Miss in 2004 any of the ISU losses both OSU losses Both Texas Losses the 2005 MU debacle the 2004 T Tech loss in Lincoln Auburn Cotton Bowl any KU game Not really trying to rewrite history....only thinking of how poorly this team has been coached
  14. I don't see anyone outside of recievers getting any playing time next year....injuries could change that...but the Offense seems to be stacked. the defense will be a crap shoot....between 07 redshirts and returners from last year....I don't see a rush of true freshman starters.....but I do see alot of playing time for the incoming DB's and safeties as well as LB's just too add depth and injuries may force a guy like Compton into the lineup
  15. Is it Mendoza? I don't really know where he is at ....but this team needs all the athletes it can get....he has great speed and toughness....if he is healthy...he is ahead of Helu....and mendoza....I believe that Mendoza or Wilson or Helu will find there way to the defense....but I'm just speculating......I would like to see wilson's size and speed at LB if he had a nose for the ball....he never seemed scared of contact....but I would not be surprised if he is 2nd behind Lucky.....to me, Glenn is a mirage in the desert
  16. Well...not throwin any parties over an injury....but it will be nice to have him for 4 years...I know that this roster it full of studs like William who will benifit from Bo
  17. is he still a husker...and did he redshirt?....he is on the rivals roster...but I have heard nuthin about him
  18. I think Blue is in the mix...and I will say that Paul will win out the thing that get me excited is to see the real talent on the offense....the line looks like the best in the North for sure and I would put our offense up agin Missouri's anyday the Defense looks good if you just went by the tail of the tape and forgot last year....there is more size and speed on this defense then anywhere else in the north....Bo will have to do alot of work , but I'm stoked when I see this roster
  19. Many seem to make the annual assumption that NU is the only program that IMPROVES from year to year. I can assure you, the entire conference tries to improve each season, with mixed results to be sure. Using NU as an example, the past four years proves that improvement can be spotty at best. But the skers aren't going to be the only improving team for 2008. I think MU is returning 16 starters from the #4 team in the country. Pinkel has them in high gear and they are recruiting pretty well. I'm thinking KU is a pretty young team as well. Mangino has them believing. He took his time and his lumps to BUILD a program, not patch it together. It has taken them six years to get here, I don't see the #7 team in the country falling off a cliff. Hawkins looks to be the right guy for CU, they're looking better and seemed to be ready to turn the corner. He already has a signature win. Va Tech? Again, established on both sides of the ball. Well coached for the most part. I have never been a Beemer fan, but he has a good rep as a HC and therefore has my respect. I'd expect a prepared and well coached seasoned team to show up in Lincoln. Bo has what it takes to really improve the D, not too hard since they finished 112th. But the reality of it is improving a 112th ranked D a whole lot may only get them to 70-80th, until he gets a couple of classes with his guys. As a HC, in charge of both offense and defense, BO is a wild card. The offense if left untouched should be productive with Ganz at the helm, but I doubt TO would tolerate the same pass happy offense that Cally/Watson fielded last season. He wants to run first. Trying to get a power running game where it hasn't existed in years, will take some changes and the dreaded learning curve. The O probably won't be starting over (who knows) but depending on the scheme(s) chosen, there may be some revamping necessary. Don't expect to see as many yards next year. But do expect more time of possession, a trademark of a TO team. The rest of the B12 has it's offense and defense set and in place (for years in some cases) and kicking ass in some cases as well. I think that is a significant advantage over a first year HC and staff that's rebuilding a 5-7 team. Bo and his new staff is starting years behind KU, MU and even CU. It could turn on a dime, hell, anything can happen, but I'm NOT counting on it. High expectations and subsequent disappointment are something that I avoid. But opinions vary. GO BO!! I like your post...BUT....I totally disagree....Va. Tech was beat by every decent team it played, they have a good defense and an offense that is as bad as Nu's 2004 group........they will be hard pressed to score alot of points in Lincoln with Bo at the helm.....KU is losing more players than you think and they also had the advantage of a very soft schedule....if MU or OU had played Va. Tech it would have been a woodshed beating for Tech...so pardon me when I don't jump off a cliff when I think of the NU KU game next year.......The Huskers moved the ball at will agin the VAUNTED KU D......Callahan and Coz crapped that game away........as for the Tiger....they are good and they have as much talent as NU....but they are also goin to have to play alot of tuff road games this year....CU is a joke.....Ganz had a bad quarter and the Husker D was just too bad to help us limp home a win....Nebraska was clearly more talented than CU...same as every year....hell we have owned CU......unlike MU....CU stinks and they lost alot of their so called core players....NU will crush CU next year and Hawkins will be on the Hot seat...hell they went 2-10 and 6-7 his 1st 2 years....hardly numbers that will get you into the Buff's hall of fame........ Bottom line....had we hire Pelini last year we would have beaten Texas in Austin....we would have beaten Cu in Boulder.............as well as win the aTm game in Lincoln.....I would also like too believe that we would have had a shot too win the OSU and KU games....soo for all the weak knee fans who can't see how we are ever goin to win another game....think about how different things would have looked this year with Pelini...9 wins and a decent bowl game vs. the crap that BC and Coz gave us........ Can we beat MU or KU????????????.....what a dumb question
  20. While Rucker and Franklin are very serious weapons and will be missed, losing them actually doesn't bother me awhole lot. In many ways, Coffman is a more talented receiving Tight End than Rucker and he will see much more playing time next year with Rucker gone. Franklin is good, but with Maclin, Denario Alexander, Tommy Saunders, ect, we will still have a strong receiving corp. While Temple had one hell of a game in the Cotton Bowl, he did not have that great of a season. Jimmy Jackson played well this year and I think Derrick Washinton will end up being better than Temple. I do worry about loosing Spieker and Luellen. They were really unsung heros this year in my opinion. As for the Defense, we played half of the season without Pig this year and did quite well. Lorenzo Williams is a loss, but I think getting back the rest of our startes the experience they have almost makes up for losing Williams. I have no problem with you guys winning 3 of those 4 games as long as the one you drop is against Mizzou! Coffman is very good....but without Rucker to take the heat off of him I look for his numbers to slip...as for Temple, well he was huge for the Tigers this year, he will be missed....and I not sold on MU back-up rb's.....they have decent talent....but I was surprised by a healthy Temple.....Pig was missed in both losses....With NU goin to run\pass QB like Ganz, the loss of Pig will be huge....but I do like the overall talent on defense, so I won't predict a huge drop-off......The Tigers are not goin to stop NU's offense with Lee or Ganz next year and the Huskers will have their hands full with Maclin and Daniel.......but home field and a decent coach may go along way to keeping Nebraska in this one.
  21. Let's hope then that some of those TD's that Ganz throws isn't returned INT's like in the Colorado game. I laugh off the INT talk because Joe bounced back from that 3rd quater....it was the defense that could not stop CU that kept us out of the game
  22. As a guy who has seen alot of the tigers over the years...let me tell you that they are goin to be good next year ...but they are goin to find it tuff to replace Rucker, Franklin, Spieker and Luellen.....if Temple is denied a 5th year then they will be down some serious weapons......the Defense will miss Pig and Williams and this is a defense that was pushed around by teams at times last year....but it is still a very good unit...... I for one expect Nebraska to win 3 outta four with KU, MU, CU, and VT all coming to Lincoln.......The Huskers have as much or more talent then any of these four schools....the Huskers just need to get togehter on the field..............Ganz showed that the offense is clearly loaded and Lucky appears to be returning.....Pelini can coach...and I don't expect the kids to quit or play as soft as they did last year....bottom line....the Huskers have out recruited CU VT MU and KU over the last 3 years...and a decent push this year will put them in the mix this year....that means that there is talent....and talent wins
  23. do you see the schedule? the only way he does not get huge numbers is if Castille or Helu just go buck wild If Ganz gets 5 TD's in our creampuff games, then something went awfully wrong. He shouldn't be in the game long enough to get 5 TD's unless we're also assuming we have no running game and no running TD's. In order for him to get his 5 TD's, we'll have to be in a shootout with a creampuff team. I hope our D is a little stiffer than that. Then Why does Tebow always carry the ball? 18 td's in 3 games.........what do you think he will do to the cream puffs?.....you could be right and pelini will use Witt and Lee......but that does not change the fact that Ganz can score ...and do it agin anyone.....
  24. I could not agree more.....but The Huskers don't have a NFL calibre Rb or WR and the defense seems to give him alot of room.....when they do try too stop him....he has been very good at hitting the open reciever ...also, He won't have Callahan getting in the way of calling a decent offensive game.....The Huskers are goin to run the football alot with Helu\ Lucky\ Castille...but when the chips are down and they need the tuff yards....Ganz will make the big plays.....his speed on the edge and his accurate passing make him very tough to defend.....he is better that Danile and Reesing running the ball and he has a better o-line and better returning talent in the backfield....yes 25 td's is stupid....but so is 18 in 3 games.....
  25. do you see the schedule? the only way he does not get huge numbers is if Castille or Helu just go buck wild
