  1. GBR!!! If Lee is the better runner.....or he is just better than I will be stoked....I was thrilled to see the Huskers finally shed the plodding style of play we had under Keller.....to sustain a drive we needed the defense to committ a penalty or we needed a huge pass play....with Joe we were able to mix it up and lossen the defense.....big play were everywhere...and we also got to see Helu and the Castille....I like the o-line and the backs....the recievers are all good and have good size....hell, it looks like we will have a decent TE...so if Joe loses to Lee....I will be surprised but excited....we finally have a running QB agin, and that is when NU is great
  2. Well....this thread has morphed..... If Joe is healthy he is the starter Joe will throw for ,or run for 5 TD's a game in the first 5 games....thats 25 td's can we now talk Heisman? he will have HUGE numbers agin the first 4 teams...and Yes this includes Vatech......... Missouri is the only defense besides OU that will be able to slow him down and the best way to do that is to play alot of offense....which OU and MU can do but Vtech can't .hell....he rolled up KU's VAUNTED defense on a day when the Huskers were getting torched....all KU had to do was play the pass and he still torched them......... then you think about Baylor ,ISU and KSU ...it's not hard to see him putting up 45+ td's and that folks is goin to get you invited to New York go whine about what ever it is you want to whine about....this thread is about Ganz and his ability to score and score alot..........
  3. Realize that many of the points that the NU offense scored were in games where they were way behind and the opposition was scoring at will. The opposition played a pseudo-prevent defense or a prevent defense and were less than intense --- allowing cheap meaningless points in blowouts. people see the Ganz numbers and their eyes light up. Well. Wait and see. Those numbers were good and I do not want to take anything away from Ganz or the offense --- but context matters. How anyone can not see that NU is rebuilding and is nowhere near the level of Missouri or Kansas and likely behind Colorado as well --- well, I do not get that. If you watched any bowl game this year at or around new years, then did you not notice how much faster and more explosive the skill position players were than ours. Did you not notice the guns on the LB's and the lineman on other teams? Then see our LB's (in physical terms) or our big-bellied soft lineman (not all of course --- but generally speaking). No, in terms of sheer physicality, NU is way, way, way behind. Callahan's recruits that initially signed on had horrific attrition rates. Much of the recruiting hype came from the ones NU were in on --- but most of those we did not get. There has been, I think, more hype than there has been production from Callahan's recruits. That said, it is still early and some of the younger guys may be the real deal. We just do not know. Anyway. A 5 - 7 team that has gone to only two bowls in four years and has a new, unproven coach (and an unproven staff) coming off of the #100 something defense. Well.... yeah, rebuilding is an appropriate description. RBhusker...or what ever.....do you watch the games?......Ganz was crushing KU D.......CU's D and destroyed KSU's d......none of those teams played a prevent...........they could not handle the run...thats right the RUN pass option that Ganz can stress a defense with.....now for all the fans who whine about the INT's that Ganz threw...well, he was forced into throwing the ball late in the games just too try too keep up....the run was thrown out and that led the defense to key on his passing........with Pelini at the helm of the defense....I see us runnin more option and pistol formation stuff that will control the ball and grind another team down...lord knows we have a good o-line..........Ganz and co. will give teams like Va Tech and CU fits......MU KU are good but they lose more than you think to graduation(mu) and that bodes well for the Huskers Now to all the fans who think the Huskers are talentless mob that can't win....We have out recruited the North for 4 years....it looks like a late rush by Pelini will put us well ahead of the north agin ....so the talent is there..... we finally come into a season with a clear cut winner at QB...a proven stud, last time we did that we won the north......that also coincides with the great home schedule...last time we had that we also won the north.....and we are getting better on defense(pelini) KU will be decent next year....but they wilted in the only big game they played last year......MU will also be good, but agin....they will be on the road forever next year and they will need to replace key players on offense and defense.....I laugh when I hear about all the returning talent that everyone else has....and we have none....fact is , NU just needs to get their Sh-t together....the d will be light years ahead of last year...and there is a ton of talent.....a ton of it. i just don't see the ton of talent here. if i remember correctly, we don't have anyone returning that was recognized as a Big 12 top notch guy......not a single one that i am aware of (Lucky, honorable mention?) and if there was one or two i missed, that is still farrrrr from a ton of talent, that has been recognized by any of the experts. well i guess you failed to see the Huskers play the last three games....it was like having crouch back agin.....the Husker offense is loaded.....Paul Hardy pedersen and the in coming freshmen will certainly be enuff to keep the Husker passing game goin....but it's the run threat of Ganz and some decent play calling that will continue the stupid numbers that the Husker offense is putting up....as for the defense, well these guys were all great high school players...are we to believe they can't play now????? the Huskers have out recruited every school in the North for 4 years and they need a late rush to do it agin.......folks it's coaching...plain and simple.............Reesing couldn't carry Ganz's jock......Ganz is quicker and has a way better arm....the Backs and receivers are better at NU and the O-line is light years ahead of KU.....MU has Maclin and Daniel so I'm not goin to go crazy.....but the Huskers have talent....period

  5. I just want to be competitive in all games, then we'll at least give ourselves a chance. Ganz....and Pelini as well as the nice home schedule all make for a decent run....7 wins would be a little lacklust considering the talent on the team.
  6. Baylor ISU KSU CU one win agin MU , KU, or Texas Tech and 3 non con wins. if the offense is as explosive as it looks to be....then wins over Tech KU Or Va Tech look very good...I can't see us losing to Missouri at home either....but I would feel pretty dumb calling for a 11 win year....too much too fix for the Huskers to get it all figured out that quick.......but there are alot of great things to look forward too....I expect Pelini to land some JC help in the coming weeks on defense and the recruiting class as a whole will only get better after Pelini gets done with LSU....The Huskers have a stone cold killer at QB coming back next year...and he has alot of weapons around him....Hard to believe that the Huskers wont shred alot of defenses next year....Oh, and maybe stop a few drives themselves....... I will be rolling in the isle when Ganz is invited to New York for the heisman and Chase Daniel is at home pickin his nose....GBR in 08 I can't wait
  7. I guess I got to ask the Husker fans around here what kind of Numbers do you expect the Huskers to put up next year????? and Lee is also goin to be fighting for playing time next year....you throw in a kid like Spano and Witt and things look really good at QB. Don't know who, if anyone will challenge Ganz for the Job, but he is a stud who will tear up the Big12 Next year.
  8. NOT GILL. PLEASE NO, NOT GILL. Why not Gill................?
  9. I don't see the job goin to anyone but Turner Gill
  10. Don't you think it's too expensive to buy him out? can't afford too keep him....The huskers will see donations and enrollment drop if Bill stays....thats a fact.....someone else already said it......you can't afford to keep him....the Next coach will have a smaller deal full of incentives and alot less actual up front money....it's not that tough to figure out...and the Huskers amy have some wiggle room on this extension....so who really cares about BC He has lost the team and that is a fact......PUD will have to fire him and I think it could happen on monday
  11. I don't mean it as a joke.....does the president not step in and say it's over...and call bill tonite? this team has clearly quit playing for Callahan...there is no point at all in keeping him on...
  12. I find it hard to believe that Callahan will be on the sideline next week...I think Pud will have to ask him to step down or fire hime....name an interim coach and form a search committee....I can't see how they let him coach this team ......the Huskers have quit and they are not even playing....they look like kids that are just out there to keep their schollies goin........this team has quit....a coaching change can only help....I mean, c'mon it can't get worse that 70 to 0 at home versus an average team........nope, this is the bottom.....no point at all to keep this goin....Callahan must show some self respect and resign but who would take the team............what assitant
  13. Looks like the bowl game is out now....but who really wanted to go to shreveport???? Callahan has finally done the impossible......he makes Scnellenberger look like Chuck Noll.......I don't see how he makes it thru the night has the Husker Head Coach....
  14. Man....i loved this reply.....you are right....this is a stupid effing thread not too beat a dead horse....but Cornhunka torn me up....I'm laughing my ass off......
  15. Man....i loved this reply.....you are right....this is a stupid effing thread
  16. I agree with most everything you say (to some extent), and you make some great points. However, I disagree with the post quoted. billy c and pud are certainly to blame. pud botched the whole hiring process, and took a grab on an unsuccessful coach. You can get all the talent you want, but it does no good if you don’t develop them and put them in position to win. And what happens when you don’t get the athletes you need?? This staff hasn’t been able to show the ability to develop and gameplan. From bad schemes to bad game plans, to not understanding the traditions of NU, to being too robotic and uncaring, I’m sorry but this entire coaching staff is totally inept. Absolutely atrocious. The fake FG against OU, the game plans against MU (both O and D), constantly using outside zone running plays when they are getting blown up by more athletic teams, to (very Solich like) calling multiple screen passes on 3rd and long, these guys are just not good Div I level coaches. This team is honestly not getting any better, and is just a couple of plays away from being 2-6 this year. I wouldn’t expect it to get better any time soon. You don't win the AFC Championship without the skills to coach, I think that you are so programmed to seeing the N on the Helmet and think they will win, and when they don't you blame the staff.... I know that if BC wins saturday, we will be bowl bound and that is a huge step for a team that was thrown on the trash heap by Bill Bryne, Tom Osbourne and Frank Solich....they did'nt do it for spite, but they did it just the same. we are on the way back........but I'm done with anyone who can't see the forrest for the tree..... We are a 6-5 team maybe 7-4 thats it Next year I want to be a 7-4 or 8-3 team and so on and on Former, you got to admit....If BC gets us to a bowl game after the circus that has gone down over the past 4 years.....he has done a decent job with what he has. ane we are back here agin....Thanx BC love what you have done too the program
  17. a little disapointed in dis thread...please think be 4 u post....we alreddy know how dum BC is.....but when you try to talk football....it's not working...cuz Billy don't really coach football please....no more threads like this...please
  18. we can sqeeze out and ugly home win agin osu another equally ugly winn agin KSU and finish with a stellar 6 wins....limp into the independence bowl where we lose to a terrible MAC team or an SEC mid level team....but we will finish with a losing record or be a .500 team.....thats the way we show how far the program has come sure am glad we decided not to get Patrick Witt some work this year because i can't wait too break in another new qb....and lets not redshirt n. paul.....but lets make sure we don't play him much....another thing we should continue too do, lets keep playing the slow Linebacking core until they graduate....i don't want to see an Ed Stewart like linebacker...lets stay with the piano movers...they rock can we aslo keep bringing in all the San Francisco C C guys...cuz they are really working out better than goin with high school kids......we only have too feed these guys for 2 or 3 years before we can move in another set of them.....it's like a foster family maybe we should also turn our 0-line into a purse toting set of nancy marys that finnesse us right outta games...who wants to run the ball when a three and out can get them back on the sidelines where it's cozy well....if we play our cards right all or mmost of this is just around the corner can't wait to welcome in another recruiting class that ranks highlt but plays poorly....gosh when will letter of intent day get here.....the one day when Billy can backslap all the boosters and lead the room in a rendition of we are the world and Pud can tell the Husker Nation that we are free at last ...thank god almighty well....when the wheels fall of like they did in columbia....it makes for a nice show.....the sparks were flying like a fouth of july fireworks show.....the wheels have really fallen off this time...make no mistakes about this one.....I for one am hoping that we can use Vinny Testaverdes corpse when the NFL is done with him.......we can prop him up as our HC and he won't embarrass us with his post game comments about team chemistry or the desire not too get bitchslapped on national TV agin(texas Tech)....... I really miss the days when the Qb didn't run too the sidelines every play to get another pat on the butt from the coach....this west coast offense is funny like 2 boys in bed
  19. I think the kids have quit........I don't see us winning at KU....CU....OU Texas....nor do I see us beating aTm....does that mean we are a 5-6 team agin? two losing seasons in 4 years.....you have got to fire BC if the season shakes out like this I would like to see Turner Gill brought in to restore the program....we have decent talent...Turner would be a great chance to put the program back on track 5-6 is coming....and believe me, I'm as shocked as you guys are....barring a huge run to end the season...like we finished with in 2005(hardly epic)......unless we win 7 games...Callahan has to go......and I really don't care if they goto a bowl game or not...as far as I'm concerned, ...after last night.....I want this team too lose the rest of their games to ensure the end of Pedersen and Callahan.....I don't want another year of the lies and the lack of effort
  20. Always did think Cornhusker fans and sooner fans were to much alike. Though we had a AD to stupid to admit after the 5-6 season he made a mistake and kept our Schnellenberger. It might have to be a losing season and a 0-30 like loss in the last game of the year to get rid of him. I'm afrad that we have a coach....who can recriut...but can't really coach.........also, I see the Huskers losing 3 more game and that would be a 7-4 team.....I guess at this point...I don't really want the Huskers to win.....I want this team to suffer....The Boosters and Donors to suffer.....Hitting rock bottom is the only way we are goin to get the University leadership to srep in and rebuild the Athletic Dept. I don't want to lose...but it's the only medication that will cure our ills....we got to hit bottom before we can rebuild
  21. I'm heading out ...be there about 1:15 .....I have still got the 5 tics for sale and I won't be in any hurry to sell them too tigers so call me on the cell if you are thinking of coming outta KC or anywhere for the game
  22. Well it's game day in Columbia....I happen to think Columbia is one of the best tailgates in the Big12....no cops getting in the way....decent size crowd that for the most part is friendly......I will be at my usual spot at the corner of Stewart and Providence road....if you come in on stadium blvd.....take a left on Providence and follow it to Stewart....take a right at stewart and park in the University power plant parking lot....there are trees for shade.....we will be taking a truck to the front gate of the stadium so getting to the game will be a snap and the wlk back is all down hill.....Feel frre to stop by and have a cold one with me and my friends....I will be there at 1 pm Huskers get it done early and coast in this one NU 29 MU 20 also....I have 5 extra tickets to the game and I want them to goto Hausker fans if you want to goto the game......let me know........Husker153@juno.com I will check this email up till noon when I head to Faurot
  23. uh.................last time I checked Wake and SC are both BCS Bowlteams....Mizzou has played NONE I am not drinking but I will be at Faurot and I will be hittin it pretty hard do have extra ticks for a price
  24. The Tigers...went 4-4 last year in the big12....losing to OU...NU...and aTm they lost their best defensive players and they a little help on the O-line....they also lost Woods their backup RB.....but somehow this team is now a powerhouse? Tiger will need to score on big passing plays....cuz they are the worst running team we will see all year....Temple would not start for ANY of the teams we played this year and that my friends is a fact.....this is a finnesse team that lacks the mobile QB that makes the spread offense dangerous.... The Tigers have only played one decent team(ILL) and that was the first game of the year....they could not run...and were fortunate that Juice Williams was knocked outta they game or the Tigers would have easily lost that game.......... I know that Ball St. and SC rolled up same huge numbers...but I still like Assante, Octavien , Turner and SUH......Ruud and McKeon need to step up and Zach Potter will also have to have a decent game....but this opponent is tailor made for the Huskers ....They got NO running game......Daniels will not break big runs off....and the Duo of Macklin and Franklin are good but the lack of a running game allows the Huskers to play different coverages and mix in the blitz............ Now lets talk about the basics of Football You have got too run the ball too win....period.....the team that runs the ball ,wins this game....Hell , you will win all your games if you run the ball better than the other team.....Nebraska will run the ball better than the Tigers....the Huskers have decent recievers and they have a big O-line that will give Keller plenty of time to hit them with the play action passes.....The Huskers O-line's ability to control the Tigers will be the Key to this game....not Daniels or Temple or any other crack headed scheme the Tigers come up with...We need to play sound special teams...run the ball and keep the Tigers from making too many big plays....the Tigers will score ....but this game will not gett into the high 30's as most people expect.... Huskers take the Air outta the ball and return to basics...blocking ...Tackling and taking care of the ball NU 29 MU 21.....and it's not as close as the score will look.....Just remember we have been plaing BCS teams...Bowl Teams......Conference champs........and we are 4-1 gbr
