  1. Y'know, speaking of religion (since you did), Devaney was no saint. People can be leaders and have character without passing that litmus test.
  2. Cosgrove is there because of Callahan, who is accountable for the whole program. We don't need at least one more season of mismanagement, embarrassment and collapse. In addition, the offense didn't show up at all against Missouri, Okie State or A&M, when this season fell apart. Callahan has insulted Nebraskans, degraded the walk-on program, trashed our traditions -- and failed to even clear the ridiculously low bar to qualify for a bowl in half of his seasons. If he is given another year, I'll cheer for the Huskers, I'll make my annual pilgrimage home to see a game in person, I'll try to boost my optimism. But I will be demoralized if he's not gone.
  3. Absolute kudos to Mo. And about his arrests this summer: I think we saw significant character development after that and through his personal tragedies. He bounced back, made a huge contribution to the team and kept his nose clean when it might have been easy to implode. I don't know if he will get his degree -- I hope so, of course -- but that character development is a huge part of college, and I'm proud of him for keeping his head up. I think he's set up to be a success in the NFL and life.
  4. I think that TO believed that he could turn LP's life around. That's right. When Johnny Rodgers was in trouble (gas station robbery), Osborne jogged with him, spent time with him, tried to impart his values. (It's in his book, "More Than Winning.") It was part of his teaching and part of his faith. He wanted to give L.P. the same chance.
  5. Actually, after the lick he laid on that Mildcat DB, I'm not sure he couldn't tackle. I think Huskerexpat is underselling Berringer.
  6. That's why he was the starter, but he didn't run the offense as well. I'll tell you, too, that if you can stand to go back and watch the Wake game, Keller made some of the worst overthrows I've ever seen -- several passes waaaaay beyond open receivers. Ganz hardly played a down in his career till the last two weeks. What he's done is just amazing, and it truly calls into question Callahan's ability to assess who can run his offense best. Maybe he would have seen that if he'd put Ganz in against Okie State or A&M.
  7. How about this theory: Ganz knows the offense. He's been studying it for three years. He's smart and has heart.
  8. J. Ganz 30-41 73.2% 509 yds. SEVEN TDs. Think he knows the offense?
  9. YEAH, NUNN!!! This couldn't happen to a better school. KSU and its fans suck. When they finally beat us in Manhattan the year they tore Crouch's head off, there were signs on the road back to Nebraska, "Losers go home." At the game in Lincoln two years ago, some drunk-ass middle-aged KSU fan walks up to my 18-year-old kid and starts giving him crap before the game. Screw the Cats.
  10. I'll give you that one. Gotta agree, yeah. Still, the kids and the fans deserve a feel-good game. Get the score, then play the subs.
  11. B)--> QUOTE(Husker B @ Nov 10 2007, 03:36 PM) 264908[/snapback] Why is our 1st team still in the game? Weren't alot of Husker fans complaining about KU doing the exact same thing just one week ago? Yeah, we should put subs and seniors in for the next series.
  12. What did Callahan do? They're complaining that we went for a 4th and 20 from midfield. Scramble by Ganz, laying a hit on the tackler at the end, picks up first down. I think they need to let Callahan up a little bit. It's the last game at home after a miserable year and the kids and fans are loving it. And it might just build confidence, loosen them up and launch them to 6-6 and getting some revenue from a bowl game. Enjoy the day.
  13. My God, Ganz looks like a real Husker QB!!! He's taking over the team, showing the way. What a frickin' run and finish!
  14. Ganz is a stud. And thank God Callahan isn't freezing the game. We all need this for therapy.
  15. It doesn't take an expert to see that Ganz knows and executes Callahan's offense FAR better than Keller. Keller apparently is more talented, so Callahan went with him. But when the team was imploding and even the offense couldn't do squat (6 against Mizzou, 14 against Okie State and A&M), Callahan stuck with Keller every single down. Just look at the points the last two weeks. Callahan didn't even know how to get the most out of his own offense.
  16. OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JOE GANZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. 23 seconds and a timeout left. Purify, Swift over the middle.
  18. Announcers are right about Ganz lighting a fire. I like having him as QB next year.
  19. This quarter -- except for the missed tackles -- almost feels like the old Blackshirts.
