  1. Just wanted to add a link: http://www.action3news.com/Global/story.as...p;nav=menu550_2
  2. So we hire a person because it would "mend smoldering bridges" with an old fart with money who publically threw a temper tatrum like a 3 year old? Not hardly! Nope that isn't what I said or at least you misunderstood. Let me put it like this, 10 ex players walk into the office & say "we like Turner, please consider him"...that carries weight, 5 BIG money boosters walk into his office & say the same thing...well that carries even more weight. He will not make a decision nor should he because Cook says so, I think that's more than obvious (Pedey) but say a week from now Toms looking at Turner & Bo & it's a dead lock he will reflect on what ex players, coaches, regents, & boosters have to say...at least in his mind. Maybe I'm full of BS but why do people of importance have advisers?
  3. I disagree 100%, no way no how was Cally gonna stay once Osborne took the title, I think it was a done deal early---weeks ago. Today was smoke & mirrors, political jargin. Tom is not a liar BUT he is & was being politically correct which is fine by me. People, it's just not always black & white and I feel sorry for you if you think it is. He does not have to answer to any of us and he can spin this anyways he feels is best for the University...simple as that. To blow your mind even more, I'd bet my left arm that THERE HAVE been talks with potential new HC's. Neither you know or I will ever know that but it's 2007--not everything is always what it seems.
  4. The 10/11 news stated at 7 (among other things) that Cook, while not happy would throw his support to Pelini. Read into that what you want BUT IMO as upset as he was over Pedey this "support" might carry some heavy weight as they try to mend those smoldering bridges. I agree with many many posters, this is gonna come down to Turner & Bo, my gut tells me Bo is ready and can lead us back to the promised land....I respect the hell out of Turner though. Tough call unlike the decision he made on Cally.
  5. In my opinion, those "conditions" was all smoke--politician talk. This has been a done deal for some time, in a perfect world everything is always black & white but this isn't a perfect world. It's also my opinion that there have been previous talks with potential new HC's--I'm not calling Tom a liar, just politically correct (which is fine by me).
  6. There are those on this board (and others) that consistently talk out of both sides of their mouth....the support Cally crap for the past 2 weeks was just that-CRAP. Funny though, some of those same posters were casting stones after the KS blowout & reversed directions after KSU...pretty shallow! Give me a break in deed!
  7. He's been a cancer this entire year. I can't remember the stupid qoute he had back ater the Ball State game but it showed his heart wasn't into it anymore.
  8. All right, I'll meet you half way. I think were all alittle testy this evening. Apology accepted & I'll offer the same as well.
  9. Of course roids happen, heck their in High schools all across the country. I won't pretend to know what he did personally...whether he made right choice or not but he is entitled to his opinion---I'd say he earned it as well as the chance to straighten out his life. I take offense when people come down on players for the pain killer thing, coaches, trainers & doctors are as much to blame as anybody especially in the NFL. That's another subject for another day I guess. By the way, I as well was close to the program at one time...several of my very good friends played on the team, heck I even hung around with a starting quarterback for over a year (often, our girlfriends were best friends). I guess we have soemthing in common huh? Next subject?
  10. HANC, you ever play the game outside of high school? I could give .02 less if you coach. Let me tell you this much, I've had my knees operated on 6 times, shoulder x 1 and elbow x 1 for this sport. When you take cordozone shots to be able to practice & have joints drained every other day it get's pretty damn easy to rely on pain killers to keep playing the game you love. I don't typically take stuff personal but your in territory that I doubt you know much about. By the way, I DID NOT play for the Huskers just to be clear. Whatever, I'm done with you!
  11. Absolutely, just having blind faith & support does no good at all. I dunno, there's leaders & then there's followers in this world...JP is and was a leader and he's got as much Husker God given right to serve his opinion as anyone else. If you don't want to hear the bashing then turn it off cus' your likely in the minority.
  12. Were not going to a bowl game (2 out of 4 years), you do know that don't you? HE IS THE HEAD COACH...IT HAPPENED ON HIS WATCH! If your so in love with the offense than put up an argument to keep Watson otherwise everything else you mentioned is baseless nonsense.
  13. Cosgrove is there because of Callahan, who is accountable for the whole program. We don't need at least one more season of mismanagement, embarrassment and collapse. In addition, the offense didn't show up at all against Missouri, Okie State or A&M, when this season fell apart. Callahan has insulted Nebraskans, degraded the walk-on program, trashed our traditions -- and failed to even clear the ridiculously low bar to qualify for a bowl in half of his seasons. If he is given another year, I'll cheer for the Huskers, I'll make my annual pilgrimage home to see a game in person, I'll try to boost my optimism. But I will be demoralized if he's not gone. AMEN, I couldn't have said that any better myself.
