  1. Concerned?? After the first game???? Give me a break. All you armchair quarterbacks need to calm down! Quit second guessing. Did you see better effort??? Did you see better tackling??? :dunno

Everything else will fall into place. Give it some damn time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at the positives instead of holding your hats on the negative. Oh wait, some of you guys will always find something to complain about.

  2. I will get both games. Don't care about the price. I want to see improvement from week to week. I understand these games could be blowouts, but, as I remember, Maine should have been a blowout also, and we damn near screwed it up. I want to see the adjustments made from week to week. That way I can get a true indication as to how we are progressing.

As for Virginia Tech, we can beat them. VT seems to self destruct alot. Plus, it's at home, we need a little home cooking for this one.

One thing on the game last week. We made some mistakes, no doubt about it. But, the push from the defensive line was a complete change from last year. Busted coverages happen early in the season. Didn't see a lot of missed tackles like last year. Hmmmmm....I wonder if that has to do with going full pads and hitting in practice??? Only time will tell. One more thing, I was looking for effort and intensity. If you go 110% and bust a coverage, I can live with that.

Cody Glenn is a beast. I want to see how he does on iso plays. If he can clog the middle, should be mentioned for butkus. I didn't see any LB's cover and tackle the way he did.

  3. I couldn't agree more Husker 37.

I read the article a couple of times. I didn't see any bad mouthing by former players, just stating the obvious. "They/we don't know these guys". That my friends rests with the coaching staff. They (BC) had an us versus them mentality. It's sad, but true, it will take time to heal. But, to be quite honest, I have seen this before. I played in the early 90's before the National Championship runs, and I tell you what, I often heard it said from former players that there was a difference in attitude between the championship teams and the rest of the teams. although we had 9 and 10 win seasons, the championship teams were a little different (arrogant). Maybe that's why they won the way the did, who knows.

I am not here to beat a dead horse dead horse, but it's just unbelievably sad to see our storied program go to crap like it did. Rift, damn right there's a rift. This impacted the Nebraska way of life. It will take a little time to get back on track. Time and winning will heal any rifts. But Osborne is smart enough to recognize these internal problems. He has already put some programs in place to help with the healing (i.e. former players being able to get season tickets without donations). I asked someone (ticket office) during the Callahan era what will it take for a former letterman to get tickets, this was after I orchestrated a fund raiser, and they said 10K.

    Good grief

  4. Quick question.....according to the espn gameplan scheduling, it doesn't look like the game will be offered on Saturday. Since I have directv, will I be able to get the game? I hope so, b/c I got satellite for this very reason. Does fox sports fall under the gameplan umbrella?

    Confused.

  5. I would love to see a Big XII network just because I have a hard time getting the Huskers down here in Texas. But, I have no idea what the cost would lead to down the road. Here is my issue, the NCAA gets 6 billion for the NCAA tourney. Ok fine, it's a business, but don't bitch and moan when an athlete gets a free pair of sneakers. I am getting off track....sorry.

  6. "The leaders turned their back on the younger players" - That right there my friends NEVER happened at Nebraska. I am embarrassed to see that. Having the older guys take care of the younger players, is why I chose to play FOR Nebraska.

NOW HEAR THIS......we will win 8 games next year. How??? Home cooking and dialing up pepper. For those of you not from the south that means.....home scheduling and blitz packages. Bo will have the boys ready. Just sit back and watch folks get earholed.

    GBR!!!

  7. I don't know about everyone on the board......actually, I get a feel that everyone is going crazy and can't wait for the upcoming spring game and season.

But, for the records, so I can keep my sanity.....is everyone as pumped up as I am??????

I can't sit straight, I got all my husker stuff out. I am fighting off critics down here in Texas. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Oh.....nooo....another BOGASM!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get my damn cleats!!!!

  8. If the rumors are true....so be it. The one thing that made Nebraska so special, was the continuity amongst the coaching staff. Over the years, you have seen coaches make changes to other teams, bolt to the NFL, only to wind up back at the college level or out of coaching altogether.

Honestly, I don't care if Watson leaves. I just want someone who wants to be here for the long term. I guarantee you, Sanders, Cotton, Jamrog and the rest of them will be here for the long term. Again, that is what made Nebraska special. We had a strong foundation, we were fundamentally sound, and no matter what offense or defense we faced, we did the same thing. Hit them in the mouth. You can have the spread offense, west coast, east coast, blah blah blah. Thing is.....speed kills! Fast defenses neutralizes any offense. Same goes for offense. Big offensive lineman and quick running backs.

So if Watson leaves....who gives a damn. I bleed scarlet and cream and will to the day I die.

    :bonez

  9. I just dusted off my cleats.............ran threw the window and tackled an old man walking his dog. He shouldn't have been in the way.

    GGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBBIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Go Big Red!

    I am fired up!

  10. Just my thoughts.....I honestly think BC and company were telling these kids they had a shot at the NFL. I have heard this several times. Instead of selling the program and playing for the name on the front of the jersey, I think he was selling the program as a farm league, or stepping stone to the NFL. Again, just my thoughts.

I agree with some of the posts, if they back out. Who gives a damn? we are better off without them. I don't care about 4 or 5 star athletes. Get someone who can hit and run the damn ball. Enough of this finesse crap. I bet if you looked over the past few years (before BC), I bet we didnt' have highly ranked recruiting classes anyway. Bunch of bs if you ask me.
