  1. So Dr. Tom talks to Coach Mac??!!! Sounds like Coach Mac agrees! Get back to the physical, punishing running attack! What I wish Hawkins would do! I don't think anyone remembers how to defend the triple option now that EVERYBODY runs the spread or the west coast offense! Good luck Huskers.
  2. Just wanted to add my experience as well. Sat in Section 204 in folsom, several groups of Husker fans around us. A group of six showed up as game time approached mostly drunk but having a great ol time. As the game started they got a bit rowdy and started using profanity. I saw that some other people had brought their kids. Probably about 7-10 year olds. Any way. I decided to talk to the Husker fan's so I went up to the one swearing and told him that I'm glad they made the trip to support their team, and I hope they yelled as loud as they could, but please remember there are kids in the area. To their credit they apologized and quit using swear words for the rest of the game. We all got along great after that, they cheering loudly in the first half and us loudly in the second half. As the game was over we all talked about what an entertaining but darn cold game it was. As they left we wished them well and a safe trip and they returned the gesture. During the entire game, I witnessed none of the aforementioned poor behavior of CU fans, with the exception of a few snowballs out of the student section with quick action by the event staff to eject them. Even the cheer previously mentioned was exagerated. The cheer was clearly audible in my sections as rough em up, buff em up go CU! Not the previously mentioned "entire stadium" chanting otherwise. I'm certain that portions of the stadium may have indeed inserted their own choice words but NOT the entire stadium. BIGREDIOWAN hit it on the head in one of his/her previous posts. WE ALL HAVE OUR SHARE OF LOSERS! CU and NU alike. The author of this thread likes to characterize CU fan's as hippies and drug users. Puhleeez! Hippies and dope heads don't even like football! They'd rather meditate and smoke pot! You might see em in Boulder, but you never see em at a game! So to try and use that argument is completely ridiculous. Now I actually came on the forum today to congratulate you all for starting your coaching change and to tell you that the Big Twelve North needs the Huskers to return to form. As one CU fan I wish you all well in that regard. BIGREDIOWAN your welcome at my tailgate anytime!
  3. My son went to Chadron. Solich was looking at Danny Woodhead.... then he got fired! Woodhead was 5'8" and 170 and thus didn't get big school attention. He's bulked up a bit now. Good to see the kid doing so well!
  4. I'm very sorry to hear about Maurice's girlfriend, as well as the story about his brother. I didn't know about either until now. As a CU fan, I express my condolences to Maurice and his family, they will be specifically in my prayers. It's good to see the Husker Nation rallying behind the young man! (We wouldn't expect any different) Good luck to Mo, and the Huskers this weekend!
  5. Congratulations Huskers and Fans, I told you last week not to panic. Looks like the North Division is getting it's act back together! Hope I didn't speak too soon though! Keller looks to be a darn good QB, although I can't watch him, if he helped score 35, he can't be to bad! How did Lucky do today? and Purify? Still not a big fan of Cali though. Congratulations again. Fan of CU and any North division team!
  6. I think you meant It's scary when Ball State got nipped by Miami OH, and CU hung it on Miami OH. But any way last year CU got beat by Montana State, then the next week Montana State gets beat by Chadron. Doesn't mean Chadron could have beat Colorado. (maybe, but prolly not) Still you can't compare teams by who beat who. Any team has a chance to beat any other team on a given day. Just depends on who's coached up well. Colorado was Montana States bowl game last year so they were up for the game while Colorado thought it would be a gimme game. Same with the Huskers and Ball State. You can't make the comparison through this that CU will beat Nebraska. Although I think it might be a closer game than I thought it would be earlier this year. Both teams will be up for the game. You Neb fans expect more than your getting from your coaching staff. The kids do have talent, and with the right coaching should be top 10. I'm telling you for the sake of your tradition and for the sake of the North pull your red tinted sunglasses off and get rid of your AD, and Callahan. Callahan is not a good college Head Coach. How many years has he had now to get the program back on track? Does "Back on track" mean #25? No. I look forward to the time when Nebraska football returns to top 10 perenially. It represents well for the North! (I am sick of hearing about how we in the North are terrible). Good competition makes for better teams so. When Nebraska gets healed, the North will get better too.
  7. Alright everybody, First of all, Hello and greetings from Colorado. Yeah I'm a Buff fan, but before you slam me just listen. The Huskers pulled out a win. I know it was ugly, but a win it was. Second you guys must understand the age of parity in college football is upon us. There are more good athletes going to the smaller schools these days and upsets are in the making. No team is a gimme game anymore. See Appalachian State, and as much as I'd like to forget... Montana State. Your guys came off of an emotional week against USC and I'm sure they were stunned a bit by USC. And this was Ball States Bowl game! They responded poorly against Ball State (blame to coaching) but they pulled it out and their record is still fine. Your team is still the class of the North talent wise and should beat Mizzou, even though they look pretty good now, they have to beat you to win it. Coach Callahan in my opinion has underachieved since his arrival. Yes this offense I think might be his best so far, but I think he has neglected the defense in order to build his offense, and any blame must go squarely on his shoulders. I don't think he's the man to bring the program to the top again. (Good for my Buffs, but not good for the North) I am shocked that he got a contract extension this early in the year. Lastly, you will pull through it, your team will respond. Good luck with Big Twelve play and win the North. Except for the last game of course! All is not lost!
