The only way for the "normal fan" to send a message about things needing to change is to stop spending our money on the program. Don't show up for the game, don't buy a program, don't buy the pizza, hotdog or any other food or drink at the stadium. Don't buy the jersey's, shirts, shorts or hats. Our money is what can do the talking for us. The big donor guys money for the expansion of this or that gets a lot of publicity but it's our dollars that go to all the "little" things that they need as well... Thats the way to make your voice heard. LOUD and CLEAR!!!

Wasn't there an ex-Husker on the Oakland Raiders that said we should be thrilled to have Callahan? Forgive me for not remembering his name, but he was an offensive linemen if I recall correctly. (Possibly Adam Treu) Why would he say that if he didn't mean it and that is from one of our own. There are problems in Lincoln, but I don't think it is fair to compare what happened in oakland to here. It's an entirely different world. GBR

That is interesting. I could see that as well... NOT! Two unranked teams palying each other in Kansas being the game of the week over two other games involving ranked teams. I don't think so. Might be the best to watch because of the scoring that will probable happen, but I think there will be plenty of offense to watch in our game as well. GBR

haha........you funny and baylor COULD win the south too..........right?? I could see Kansas, Kansas St, Missouri, Colorado all beating NU this year so that woulld make them fifth in the north. Not sure about the Baylor thing though. I can also see us winning each of those games. Does almost everyone on here have to be as negative as they can? Our team is 4 and 1. Same as Oklahoma and Texas. How about a little more support for the team you all call yourself a "fan" of.

Special Teams did well today if you take away the offsides and the roughing the punter. We got some real good returns by Grixby today and a couple of really good punts. My question is why doesn't Mo Purify play more than he does? The guy should be in almost every play as either the go to guy that he is or atleast a decoy!

Thank you! I can remember a lot of people wanting to run Osborne out in the late 70's and 80's. Saying he couldn't coach. I also remember people wanting McBride ran out of town because they thought his defense was horrible... then he changes his schemes and plays to his strength's and every body thought they were both brilliant coaches. Did that happen in the first four years for them... NO! Who took over a better team or program? Osborne from Devaney, Solich from Osborne or Callahan from Solich??? Osborne gets a team fresh off of back to back national titles, Solich got a team fresh off of 3 national championships in four years. What did Callahan get? A teams who best athletes were recruited for a system that was becoming out of date, a team whose overall talent level was no where close to the mid 90's teams. Now on top of that, tell me what other team in any recent history has had a better record... Huskers, best record in college football since 1970. Almost 40 years people. Has Oklahoma been that good that long? NO! Texas? NO! Florida? NO! USC? No! We have been spoiled for a long time. Our players, coaches and university deserve our support through this time. They have given us 40 years of great memories and we can't give them 4 years? That truely is a shame. That is not the fans that most of the nation calls the "best fans in college football"! Don't be a fare weather fan... support your team! (Hint... that means all of it's members!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Do you suppose that calling the unit he plays for the "pinkshirts" and having all over the internet massive vitriol and venom against the defense and McKeon in particular has perhaps contributed to his defeated attitude (assuming he has such an attitude). We fans have been the 12th man --- for the opposition. People like you have thrown a bunch of kids under the bus and publicly humiliated them on the internet. The best fans in the world have shown themselves to be just as pathetic as the fans from anywhere else. That the team is struggling is an issue. That the fans have become so ugly is a tragedy. I couldn't agree more. The most alarming issue is the reaction of our "fan" base. A friend told me the other day this isn't the type of team he is used to. I responded to him by saying this wasn't the fans I been used to for the better part of 36 years. People... these kids deserve our support, need our support and should have it unconditionally. How many of you would want this same treatment at your job or even better for your kid in anything they do. Remember that this is "our" team and we as the greatest fans in the world should be there to CHEER them on! Wear Red, Be loud and CHEER for these young men!

Witt will start... he has the physical "tools" needed and has all the smarts needed to go a long with them. IMO... Ganz unfortunately I believe just doesn't have "it". He may know the offense, but I think he lacks the intangible things from what I have heard and seen on my own. He sure has been a good person to have on our team though.

My wife and I as always. Message to Husker Nation... What ever your opinion is on this staff or the administrators, please don't let that effect your rooting for "our" team. It's very easy to be a fan of our team when they win and win easily, but obviously not so easy for a lot of you when they don't win or don't win big. Why are you a fan of the Huskers? Is it because you have lived here? Because you have attended the University? Because you have played for or known a young man personally who played? For me it's because I was born here, it is all I have known... Devaney, Osborne, Solich, Callahan and all of the players and asst coaches. The best of times for me ('94 &'95). The worst of times... parts of the late 70's, late 80's and early 90's. I have lived in Kansas, Missouri, and Minnesota. I have always been proud to be from Nebraska and that we had an above average football team. Am I proud of all of "our" teams accomplishments... YES! But I am also proud that a small state in the middle of the country that has little population in the state can say that we are the third winningest team in history. There are many things to be proud of as a husker fan. So let's show this team, this coaching staff and this university that we a proud of them this weekend and every weekend from here on out. You may not be happy with the way the team has played so far, but booing "your" team just isn't right. There will be better times and places to "discuss" this seasons accomplishments and/or failures. It just isn't before, during or after a game in Memorial stadium. Corey McKeon... If you hapen to read this, I just want you to know that there are a lot of us that have and will continue to spport you. Keep your head up, work as hard as you always do, and just go play football. And please feel free to throw out some jokes and trash talk. It really is good to hear. BEAT ISU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
