  1. Maybe they heard they were going to get three hot meals aday?
  2. HuskerHED1976 and just what meaningful posts have YOU ever made? You seem to be that kind of person who just prefers to take snipe shots from the grassy knole or is that HOLE?
  3. I guess with all the responses I get I think I have some fans! I'll post this topic again in a few weeks and I'm sure you'll all respond again. Because your addicted to my wisdom. Now its off to take a nap............after all I did mow the grass today. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! Oh yeah, Lucky sucks and so does Potter!
  4. In my opinion the spread offense is ruining college football. I don't enjoy seeing the ball go up and down the field basketball game style. I don't like the high scoring games either. These type of games don't build character in players............just the opposite. What is your opinion? Lets hear it from the more mature who post here. And not the preteens who haven't seen other styles of offenses thru the years.
  5. North of Blondo and east of 72nd is starting to get pretty seedy. North of Ames is just a hellhole to live in. That area isn't anymore "seedy" then the rest of Omaha. Northeast around Ames is bad but the area that this happened in isn't any worse then 75% of the City. Hey, thanks for the info. Having lived near the area the shooting took place I think I'll stick with my assessment. Any place EAST of 72nd St is GHETTO! Yeah that includes dUNdEE .
  6. "It's not how long your ball is...it's how you use it" And we Cyclone fans refer to the Iowa offense as the "Possum"....Plays dead at home and gets killed on the road. I haven't watched any of the games since they are PAY PER VIEW. But I do watch husker highlites on tuesdays with that dork of an announcer. I personally don't think that the PRODUCT which is cornhusker football is WORTH the price right now. I want to see a action/adventure and not a COMEDY.
  7. I thought I was the only one who thought Ohio State and Big 10/11 games were extremely boring. They are just no fun. I can sense many of you HuSKeR FAnS are really preteen boys locked up in your rooms surrounded by posters of your favorite husker players. Gawd very few of you remember Clint Eastwood and the "Dead Pool"? And even a few don't remember Penn St as a national power? Go back to eating your fruit loops babies!
  8. Some of you just made my dead pool list.
  9. Totally wrong! We have an "N" on our helmets and they have NOTHING! I guess its wise to look outside the inner circle (Nebraska) and get a more balanced view on a national level to form one's own opinion. I just don't see us at the top anytime soon. Is the moderator really JAMMAL LORD?
  10. No, that's not it. Edit feature.........................DUH! Hard to have an honest discussion when EVERYBODY is such a high school RAH RAH type fan?
  11. No, that's not it. Edit feature.........................DUH!
  12. I know all this spread offense is the new wave but gawd its boring to watch. I'm finding myself loving to watch West Virginia and becoming a fan of their team and option . And since Solich and his Millard North offense (Give the ball to the QB to run 90% of the time) and the down years of Clownahan I think I am losing some of my passion for NU. I realize we can't go back to the 90's and a power running attack but this spread WC crap just speaks of being a pu&&y type NON-PHYSICAL mamby pampy flag football game. Now the reason we can't run the ball is the O line isn't trained to run the ball. Hard to switch over from pass block to the run..................OKAY? And maybe Shawn Watson is NOT the man to be offensive cordinator. Since the start of the big 12 we have been slowly sliding back into the pack. Reminds me of when Penn State joined the big 10. At one time they were a very strong national power. Now they once in awhile will get a peak at the top of the conference. But they will never contend for another national title at least in my life time. Kind of like my opinion of Nebraska. We are the Penn State of the Big 12.
  13. Cy you going to be at that game? I am going to it just for the tailgating and maybe to find cheap tickets. I agree I just want to see ONE good game this week. Arkansas running back being mediocre and just a scatback.................just like MARLON LUCKY. MEDIOCRE
  14. Which McDonalds in Lincoln is he working at?
  15. Not much you can do as a coach when its the players on defense who SUCK.
  16. I feel the same way. I love the guy and hope he goes out his senior year with a bang. Keller sucked
  17. http://tickettransaction.com/VenueInformat...;EventID=760923 thanks fro......i knew there location what i meant was are these decent seats?....i mean for $140 i hope they aren't terrible. Thats the best price i have seen. The only lower that I have come accross were for $120 in section 41, 70-80 rows deep. Its an endzone seat, but they could be worse Please don't come to Lincoln...................I'll be watching for you.
  18. After all these years I still don't understand HOW they can recruit and how they come up with good teams. I really don't think they have a rabid fan base like Nebraska. So just what is there secret?
  19. Bla Bla Bla.................. don't you have some comic books to read or maybe Harry Potter?
  20. ohio pete, Having two DE's go in the draft, 1st rd and 4th rd. have something to do with that. A d-line that demands double teams and dominant players can create havic. There was no such player last year and unless someone really steps up there will not be one this year either Doom and gloom to all you high school rah rah types. I read all the press in the paper and there is alot of concern in Bo's eyes. But keep it positive! Until we get some mean big boys up front I'm afraid there will again be a collapse. They might even look like the three stooges slapping each other when the other team busts another LONG one right up the middle. Melscott, although these are good points. scheme can help where there is a lack of talent, or just hide weaknesses. very true. Dumbing things down can help also, but then you are running the same D's all the time. it also limits that creative blitzing bo is known for. Conditioning does play a roll. but mostly at the end of games. not the first series. I think robsker made some great points to show the other side of your statement as well. robsker, very true. I think that most people who have played football would say that talent and strength are the two biggest factors to a players success. Does effort and heart matter yeah. But lets put it this way. player a - has the talent to compete with the man across from him, has the strength also. But maybe he doesnt have the heart of the walk on player b - not as talented as those he is playing, not as strong either. heart of a lion. Who do you want? The all-american/all conference guy that maybe could be better if he only tried harder. Or do you want Rudy Ruettiger? He may never play, but he has all the heart and effort you could ever want. The deal is this. Alot of things go into a horrible performance like the Husker D-line gave last year. And no one or two things are going to fix that. Lossing weight has good and bad factors. Schemes help, actualy tacking in practice and games is a bonus. I guess all i am saying is give it time. Let the kids grow and the program changes develop. I believe NU's D will be better. I think BO will do alot to hide the flaws of this team. But dont expect this magical light to come on. As robsker said, these were the same players being blown off the line last year and they are lighter and easier to move this year.
  21. So.. You're saying Ty Steinkuhler (Sr.) would have a much worse attitude than his little brother, Baker? I think you're severely underestimating the effect of not believing in your coaches' schemes has to do with your attitude and performance..That's why Bo is stressing having the players "Buy In" to the new coaches and philosophies. Subtle differences like having the DL line up in the gaps as opposed to head on could be huge. Seems to me that some of the line guys are playing pu&&y to be getting out of the practices. That shows me that they are not tough enough and will fold just like last year. That and the lack of substitutes again shows our glaring weakness as the season goes on. Its kind of like a beaten fighter and his self doubt whether he can win again. The Line backers will also show a weakness as teams will run right thru us.
  22. That the D-line will collapse again because of injuries and a losing mentality from last year. And it won't improve until they graduate and are purged from the system. Then a "New" crop will be recruited with the proper attitude.
  23. My feeling is he's here for this year to train Cotton on his offense and then get his own team. So where do you think he'll go? Can't see a big name team for him. iOWA?
  24. Gee I hope not. Loyalty is one thing but we need someone more innovative.
  25. I believe he'll only be here this year before he gets his own team.
