It's not like Colorado can sit back and select whomever they wish by pointing a diamond flecked finger at one of many incredibly high caliber candidates.

 

Pederson was shocked at how hard it was to find a viable option after he dismissed Coach Solich, and you have a TON more in place here at NU then you do in Boulder.

 

Colorado has the following hindrances for any head coach to consider:

 

1.) It's a pro town/state. The Broncos are infinitely more important than the Buffaloes to most sports fans in Colorado.

2.) The facilities are horrible...really, really bad.

3.) The University is in dire straits economically...which means there is zero money to spend on facility upgrades.

4.) Booster indifference. Raising money for the Cornhuskers isn't akin to playing tiddlywinks, but it is compared to getting Colorado business folk to open up their wallets for an afterthought up in Boulder.

5.) Four long years of terrible football means a pretty substantial rebuilding phase. From the time they were absolutely annihilated by Texas in the CCG five years ago, the talent and production decline has been nothing short of precipitous. That job feels like a Sisyphean endeavor at this point.

 

So, I believe speculation on who Colorado is going to select is a little premature. I think a more accurate way to phrase Colorado's situation is to ask who they are going to settle for, rather than who they are going to choose. I think CU is about to get Callahanned.

You forgot one Nebula... The birkenstock pit-hair faculty (don't know about the males) in Boulder really wanted to get out of football altogether after Barnett - Leach 'the neanderthal big meanie' would play great with this crowd!

1. I was wrong. Cody G cannot play D-1 footall. He needs 2 find somewhere to transfer to...

2. We need to find a new defensive scheme that has true linebackers...

3. We need quicker sets (from the coaches) with defense (whether they're right or wrong)...

4. Niles Paul needs to be introduced to 'the pine' - I don't care what he does in 'the past' or 'the future'...

Honestly, seeing all these names- they are more like team names you'd come up with for big family reunions or youth group contests. If they do anything besides geography I think in a few months it will seem so corny and dumb they will wish they just went with east/west.

Unfortunately a few of the girls might develop back problems - and nothing like coming home after a hard faught match w/ Penn State to look in the mirror and see a nice floor burn arcross your tit from the dig you made during the 4th set to win the game. Some battle scars are not sexy.

This is not the first time the administration has issued an "advisory". I remember one or two in recent years.

 

Regarding the student section- aren't these games really for them? I mean it is their school and all. Not really suggesting they should have the skyboxes, but I do think they should be on the sidelines.

 

Which students are you talking about? The current students or the former students? Just because I don't go to UNL right now doesn't make me any less of a fan. In fact, former students who have paid for four (or five, or six) years of education, and now are out in the workforce and still pay the University as boosters, have given more to the school than kids today. Those blue-hairs everyone loves to cry about have paid more than five of you and two of me combined. So isn't this all for them?

No new helmets, no new unis. Leave it alone. We're one of the most recognizable uniforms in college football. Leave it that way.

I know for a fact there will not be any F-114 Stealths flying over this game. I do know that there will be T-38 jets flying, although I don't know exactly how many but at least two im guessing 4. My cousin is in the Air Force at a base in Texas and a HUGE Husker fan. He put his name in about a year ago to try to get the flyover to this game, AND HE GOT IT!! My whole family is going to the game to watch this once in a lifetime event. Can't wait to see him fly and get announced on the field later in the game!!!!

Geez, I spend a couple hours away from the board...

IN REALITY, if you'd have years under your belt, you'd have a very lengthy list of the next '2nd Coming' player - many of whom just didn't pan out for whatever reason. What we have is pretty good expectations. Our secondary is, as you say, top of the line - playing with the personalities of the Pelini's.

HOWEVER;

We also have a redshirt freshmen quarterback that needs to play against the country's 4 and 5 star recruits.

We also have a practice regimen that tends to break guys feet - and other things.

We also have a smaller defensive front that, so far, has allowed that crucial 2 or 3 yards when the other team needs it.

We also have a great pair of running backs that have yet to complete a healthy season...

...tell me we didn't all push our 'bollacks' down where they belong when we saw Thenarse taken off the field with a cart.

Can anybody tell me if me not being there this weekend will mean that our streak will end? What if I give it to a friend, will that count? If not, I may have to get my wheelchair out and get to it.
