  1. While I happen to agree with your sentiment, it's best to let it rest. It's never going to happen. $$$$$ Rules and the game brings it in.
  2. Damn. They just dropped our coverage to TX/AM as well. Oh well, probably for the best. Another sad day...
  3. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writ...weis/index.html Mainly about Weis and ND but a paragraph about Callahan.
  4. You, Sir, speak BLASPHEMY in regards to the beloved Dodger Dogs.
  5. Whoa there...I'm happy NU is up and hope they win, but it's premature to call it a win yet. After all it's only 2 TDs and there's plenty of time left.
  6. I think TO is better suited as an interim AD. He could help calm the waters and be an effective consultant in finding a replacement AD and if needed, head coach. A new hire with his stamp of approval would bring fresh blood, but keep ties to Husker tradition. DR was a great player, but I have no idea what his qualifications are besides being an ex-Husker player. I have no objections to Pelini or Gill, but think it best for everyone involved to let the past be and move on. Having either one onboard may prevent some people - fans, employees, players or whomever - from letting it go. As with the new AD, a new coach who is hired in a different manner than Callahan and has the stamp of TO's approval could probably complete the healing process of the last few years and bring us back to glory. Just my uneducated opinion.
  7. It would be unfair to disqualify a man for behavior that occurred almost 25 years ago when he was much younger. Even if the above is true, maybe he has matured, grown up and become a better man. While a cautious approach may be needed, it would be nice to see him interviewed (for real). Oh and according to my buddies at USC, Norm Chow is waiting for Petey C. to leave so he can assume the Trojan throne.
  8. NU is not OU. Gill is not Blake. I don't know if Gill would be a good coach or not, but to say "no" simply because hiring a former player failed at another school is ludicrous.
  9. Dramatic? Yes. But sometimes a dramatic gesture is needed to stop the problem from spinning even more out of control. This would at least signal the seriousness of the situation is recognized and tell the world that the issues will be resolved. But it has to be Petey and BC together at once.
  10. There are always ways out of an employment contract. While it may be costly, it can be done. If matters get desperate enough (which I believe they are), he'll be gone.
  11. WTF? I was out running around and thought I saw OK state up 17-0. Thought I misread the screen. Came home to find out the sad truth. WHAT'S GOING ON?@?@??? Criminy.
  12. This is something which should make all fans proud. As I stated in another thread, there is nothing like seeing that sea of Red at the stadium.
  13. While the idea is nice, there is nothing like seeing the sea of Red in person and on the Tube. It is an awesome sight and makes an impression on many non-Husker fans. Maybe the towel/sign ideas would work better. Best of both worlds?
  14. BINGO! No large group like an athletic team will have everyone liking each other. Much like a business manager, it's up to the coaches to motivate the team and have the focus on the common goal.
  15. Pederson's two blunders (IMO) that continue to sink him more than hiring BC. 1. His "mediocrity" comment when firing Solich. 2. His not asking TO to be a mentor to NU Athletics in anyway and letting Creighton grab him instead. The first is just plain stupid not knowing whether or not he'd even be able to back it up. The second was purely egotistical and confirms an unrepetant stubborness that he - and he alone - knows what's best for Husker tradition. HH
