  1. Too bad for Rachel. Whatever the case, the decision couldn't have been easy. Not only was Rachel admired by adults who love to watch her play and value what she brought to her team, but kids admire(d) her too. I can say this from experience because my 9 year-old daughter was ALWAYS "Rachel" whenever she picked up a volleyball. And that because Rachel was so kind to her and the other girls at the "Lil Spikers" clinics in Lincoln. All the best to you, Rachel.
  2. I agree with you overall. But Syracuse's problem with football was for too long a problem with a weak AD (Crouthamel) who was too satisfied with just being OK and too many off the field problems, including those with players and coaches. It was a mess that made the recruiting problems worse. Maybe these are the "other issues" you mentioned. They were, though, very important.
  3. Joe, I'm an Omaha guy from Brooklyn (Park Slope). When I was a kid I played at being Jeff Kinney and wore my pads like him, so I think I know where you're coming from. Hang in there with the Huskers. Enjoy the success of Mizzou and KU this year (both great teams and great stories). Celebrate their success. They deserve it. And then get ready for the return of the mighty Huskers.
  4. Combined record of KU's oponents to date: KU's combined opponents record: 29-51 Exactly. And Kansas put up 76 points on a Nebraska defense who has broken more bad records this year than any team in the past 50 years. Big deal. If you beat Mizzou, Oklahoma State and then OU then Ill be impressed but as of right now, I am not impressed. You should be impressed...they handed our asses to us. if that is all that is needed.... we should be impressed with 75% of the teams in college football. we are terrible! You deserve it. You kicked the crap out of us. The big guy's built a good team the right way. Good luck. Enjoy the ride. I hope you (we?) get a better game in Lincoln next year.
  5. I really do feel bad for cally. he has worked hard. I dont think he is a bad coach, or a stupid guy. but he's not a great leader, and not a college coach. What's odd is that Callahan CAN connect with recruits. He has such an ability to connect, in fact, that he makes the recruit's relationship to him and to other coaches, rather than to NU, his main selling point. What happens after they arrive is the mystery.
